My biggest challenge AND tip to getting back on track is the first workout after the rut. If I can just gather enough motivation and energy to put in one REALLY good workout. I try not to think about what comes after the one workout and put all of my focus on just getting through one. Just one. It creates momentum, and usually enough to keep me going.
I wanted to do it yesterday, but I couldn't make myself do it. I did end up taking a liesurely walk for 15 minutes, and that was a small victory. I intend to get on a treadmill today for a good hour though. I'm starting to feel like I'm ready to try harder again.0 -
Jillian- every positive minute counts, try not to set such a big goal...an hour on a treadmill sounds daunting. I get you want to power back into it, just don't beat yourself up - it's not all or nothing. I like your 15 minute walk...that is a big victory..getting going!! You said it- baby steps!! maybe try adding 5 mins a day, or up your distance in the same time frame....or take a nice bubble bath and listen to your body, mind, heart....it is okay to take a break, it's okay to take care of you first. Take a moment....breathe.

Jenny is right on. Give yourself a break. For me I have to have something I am working towards. I have started doing 5k for that reason and snow skiing in the late summer and fall gets me to get up every morning and go. Finally, being responsible for someone else's' fitness. That's not quit right but if I am meeting a friend, not family, for a jog or workout I will get out of the house and go.0
