I know lifting and core is out for 6 weeks (for me) I've been walking 30 min a day since day 3 (+running around after the kids and errands). Just wondering when you upped it up to "working out" status?

Wait for your surgeon to release you. That's normally at 4 weeks. Until then, just walk and play gently. My surgeon didn't even want me on a treadmill because he knew I'd push it.

We have a 1.25 mile walking trail at my office, so I was able to get out there Mon and Today. It's really nice. So I'm doing that for now instead of lunch with the co-workers be4xf1l4mgek.jpeg

It's a beautiful complex- inside and out- we built it from the ground up! This week they are finishing the outdoor raised garden beds for the cafeteria. Talked to Dr. today and he wants me to walk 30 min 2 x a day - 3 mph or less and next week if I can do arm workouts without engaging my core, I can. Very light weight. I told him I might wait for week 4 to do that.

My surgeon didn't clear me until 7 weeks because my stitches opened up.

I am feeling great !!!! I started running again this morning. I could only run for 20 mins as I am only 13 days post opt I did not want to over do it to say the least. I feel amazing so refreshed and I have healed very very well. I was hoping to find a support group to help keep me focused and to stay on track with my Gastric Sleeve journey. :)

You are doing great Char_barr :# I am soooo proud of you. You are def motivating me to getter done. I really hope your msg was intended for me. if not I am still proud of you and your will power. It is contagious :D. Yes I must say I had to lay in my road and recover for at least 5 mins lol and I am feeling it this morning. It is raining here and 45 degrees so I had to bring my run indoors this morning. Do you feel like you are hungry all the time? If you don't mind me asking. Keep up the awesome work girl you are doing great. Thank you for your support I truly appreciate it.

@christy311984 Hungry all the time...are you on something like Pepcid or omeprazole? Having the large curvature portion of the stomach removed, our production of gherlin (hunger hormone) is drastically cut. You should not be feeling actual hunger. Often, churning acids are mistaken for hunger. That's the type of indigestion I've always suffered from, and it took me a long time to accept that's what it was and had to eat crow when I got relief.
If you aren't on something, I'd suggest something over the counter. If you are on something talk to your surgeon about possibly upping it.

@NicoleL874 Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, :) That makes a lot of sense I never thought of it that way. I am currently not on anything for indigestion just because I thought I did not need it. However with your info I will most def be getting me some Pepcid and see if it helps. I will also mention it to my surgeon on the 23rd and see if he would like to add a medication to help also. Thanks again I was really starting to think that maybe all of my gherlin (hunger hormone) was still there. You are awesome and I really appreciate your support I hope you have a wonderful and blessed night. <3

I do "feel" hungry at times but like Nicole said, I'm pretty sure it's acid. I'm on Zantac now which isn't as effective as Prilosec for me, but found out that I am allergic to Prilosec by week 2. Info get the hungry feeling I either have a drink of water or see if I can have protein shake. That usually does the trick. Thanks for your kind words!

@ char_barr You are very welcome :) I got me some pepcid it does seem to help.I also do the shake and I am getting in my required water intake. but I am going to be drinking more to see if that helps. I will also be asking my surgeon about putting me something to help with the acid as Nicole suggested. Thank you so much for your response and support. You ladies sure did help me out a lot Thank you both very much for your time I hope you both have a wonderful and blessed night. <3
