Restorative yoga

Here's an article about the benefits of restorative yoga for autoimmunity. I used restorative yoga to begin re-mobilizing after a few months of being bed-bound/ home-bound both in 2013 and again this spring. It's so gentle and pain-free, but provides some core activation that finally let me stand and walk normally and pain-free. My particular autoimmune disease doesn't respond well to traditional physical therapy (repeated exercise makes my muscles weaker, not stronger) so I turned to the restorative yoga instead.

i teach a low aerial restorative class. yoga in general has helped me maintain my functionality. there are days i can barely get to class and when i leave i feel like a normal human being

that being said-always talk to the dr before starting a new exercise program.
