Hi! I'm Cathy. I decided to get the roux-en-y gastric bypass about 6 months ago, after thinking about it for years but being too scared. Now, I'm scared that I won't live to see 50, if I don't have it. I have one more visit to the dietitian in September & then she will decide if I am approved to go further. Then the surgeon will have to approve me (I've already passed the psych eval) & if all goes well, insurance will approve me, too.
My HW was 340 a year ago. The first time I saw the dietitian my weight was 334. I now weigh 292. I'm 5'8. I'm super proud of the weight I've lost in just over 4 months but it's getting harder & harder to lose.
I know that the pouch is just a tool. I exercise. I have been practicing eating high protein, low carb, low fat, low sugar & drinking atleast 64 oz of water daily. I can't wait to have energy again.
I have 2 kids, 11 & 17 & I would love to see grandkids. I would love to be more active in my life.
Anyhoo, that's why I'm here. I hope to get some great support from you all.

Hello! I just had the RNY surgery and I am recovering well. If you are nervous or have questions why not ask them. If I know the answer I will do my best to put you at ease.
Hugs to you in your weight loss!0
