One of the UAC members, Fearlessinmy3rdact, and I have a common source of nutritional and exercise inspiration. Chris Crowley, is 81years old and when we was 70, he wrote a bestseller book entitled "Younger Next Year". About 4 years after that, along with a young nutritionist at Tufts University, Jan Sacheck, he wrote "Thinner this Year".
Although the first book was written with middle age & senior men as it's primary target, the lessons contained in those books have influenced thousands of non-young folks to learn how to get fit for life and stay fit 'in the third act".
I highly recommend Chris Crowley's two books...Who do you recommend that has positively influenced your health goals?

I remember my mom's Back to Eden always being on her nightstand. I read Queen Afua's, Heal Thyself, about 20 years ago. Honestly, I'm not reading anything health related right now (I am finally reading Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell), but I live on Pinterest and Instagram for health & fitness inspiration (this is where I found my 30 day challenges). I'm going to check out Crowley, thanks Rick!

    Have a goal-busting day everyone!

I've read both Wheat Belly books by William Davis, MD. Whole 30 and It a Starts With Food by Melissa Hartwig. Those are all wonderful.

Did I exercise for 20 minutes? 62 minutes of jogging.
Did I stay within my calorie budget? Yes. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings. Before we went, I looked up the calorie count of what I wanted! Lol!!
Did I log everything? Yes! (Even the cheese curds)

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes just barely! My brother and I installed a window a/c unit for a senior friend of mine with little financial means which took more time than I thought, then my aunts called wanting to get pizza and I can't say no to them as one is sick and I'll take all the time I can get with her and. So I didn't get to volunteer for leading the therapeutic horses today - which just started again and is an awesome 3 hour workout walking and trotting with the horses in sandy gravel! it'll have to wait until Thursday's session - but I did squeeze in the gym so 20 elliptical and 20 strength

Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Somehow even with ledos pizza for dinner I am under calories!

Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes

Even though I think a lot of the health trends out there are iffy, I've always enjoyed reading things by Andrew Weil - his top recommendation if he could get everyone to do just one thing is deep breathing. Sounds goofy, but we've become such shallow breathers from both a lazy angle and sheer vanity not wanting to push that diaphragm out to get a good deep breath. He believes this contributes to stress and poor circulation particularly to organs that need that oxygen to remain healthy. Sounds silly except that I've got hypothyroid and an average blood pressure of 58 which puts me at potential for bradycardia - and I wouldn't be surprised if this was a contributing factor. I can breathe so shallow at work that I literally fall asleep. Scary...

This was a "hard day' of exercise. A hard day is one in which you push your limits and tear muscle and/or kick up the cardio intervals into the anaerobic level. I am working my way back after the hiking vacation in August.
Exercise was cardio/intervals for 33 minutes
    Calories were below the limit.
    Tracking, including water, was ok.
After two 'hard days', it's a long-slow easy day tomorrow.

@Intrinsicat Family and friends are a good thing to not get as much exercise as you want. I would love to volunteer with horses. (I know little about them, and none close by)

I got in 60 minutes of walking yesterday. Even did 10 minutes at a super fast pace for me.

Logged everything, and calories were okay. Would have been better if I could have said no to the ice cream.
