Who has got Pokemon Go? Who is enjoying it? And who is finding they are getting more exercise because of it?

It's fun. Not very good at the catching part, but I'm trying!0

Heard it came out to the UK today.0

I'm addicted at the moment. My day today has comprised of: Waking up, eating, heading out on a 7K Pokemon catching expedition, rocking up home to recharge my phone and eat lunch, before heading out again and walking to the Woodland Viaduct and all sorts of beautiful places in search of pokemon
I already did a fair amount of walking/ trail runs before, but have to admit, this game as somewhat sparked my enthusiasm for walking outdoors.
Although I slightly suck at the hunting pokemon part for the time being0 -
It's ok. The catching part is fun but the gyms are basically pointless starting out. I'm still low level so the only thing I have to do is catch the same things over and over and slowly level up. There really needs to be a way to level cap training ranges so that everyone can play. Because I work during the day and live on the edge of town I don't have a lot of variation or poke-stop exposure and I'm afraid I'll lose interest before I get very far but we will see how it improves over time.0

Just got it. Looks like fun0

I agree! All of the gyms in my area have ridiculously high levels of Pokemon. I saw one yesterday in a nearby town and the Pokemon was over 1000. My highest is 146. Then I look for more and they are like 10's. :-( It is still fun, but frustrating.0 -
Just did my daily walk to work and it took me from level 0 to level 4. Near home there are a lot of pokemon stops (I can even fill up from my kitchen table I have one that close) and pokemons to catch. Near work it is less. However there are a few just outside the building I can grab them from my desk and possibly be up to level 5 by the time I go for my walk home.
Combined with my fitbit to count steps I think I am heading into the slightly addicted range3 -
I was so excited. I caught a 315 Weepinbell today. I've never seen anything other than bellsprout around here. I'm going to try and get the kids to take a jog with me for pokemon this afternoon.2

I have just ticked over to Level 11, I am hoping to up my mileage and get some eggs hatched! Best so far is a 514 Hypno. Still can't win any gym battles, people have levelled up so quickly!0
-
Haven't gotten a Hypno yet. I have a bunch of eggs that need to be hatched myself. They are about halfway there, so hopefully today I will be able to get at least some of them done.0
-
Biggest issue is that the game is so popular. This afternoon I had some real problems with the game being not responsive. I live in a student city and they seem to be all playing whenever they leave the house. Actually funny to see all people walking and swiping in the same way.
In the end I managed to get to level 6 on my walk home . Hatched two eggs today (a 5 and 2 km one) and have two in incubation at present.0 -
One of the most frustrating things so far has been when catching a Pokemon and having the game freeze and not get the Pokemon. I got to lvl 8 last night, caught a tenticool, evolved one of my Evees from 322 to 500 and hatched two eggs. I got one Eggsecute and another one I can't remember. I'm so close to my third egg hatching and have a few more I'm working on. I feel like I need a support group. lol0

The horrid GPS or whatever they want to call it is driving me nuts. I ran 5 miles yesterday and got less than 2km counted to my eggs. I even made sure the game was pulled up and active the whole time.0

I've been playing Pokemon GO non stop, I recently hatched a 10km egg and obtained an Aerodactyl. My current goal for pokemon go is to obtain all 150, then I'm going to try and start gym battles.2

I can imagine the speedlimit being an issue. I have hatched four eggs now - just walking to and from work.
Caught 115 pokemons now and have my items bag pretty much full all the time. Should hit level 9 tonight on my way home. The area where I live it so rich in pokemons and pokestops that it is almost too easy.
My husband and I plan to Pokehunt this weekend in a nature reserve. Rumour has it that there are some more rare types there. I do have to add that otherwise we would have gone for a walk there1 -
The speed limit is really annoying, it makes running almost useless for hatching eggs. OK, you get some mileage, but not as much as you're doing.
Just hit Level 12, still can't win any gym battles though. Will have another go later! Still not got a great variety of Pokemon, evolved so many Pidgeys and Weedles now!1 -
I hit level 9 yesterday and caught a Magnamar. I have been told repeatedly by my boys that the Pokemon that I'm getting excited over are not rare. lol I told them that if I have never seen them, that they are rare to me. That being said and not having gotten into Pokemon prior to this, all of them are rare. I did find a Butterfree at my parent's house and the app froze and I lost it. This morning before work I found another one that I can't remember that was a 444CP, but I couldn't catch it. Before I tried I had 26 balls and now I'm down to 1.0

Oh and I learned that by switching off your camera and AR you save a lot of battery and (added bonus) it is easier to catch the pokemon! Ok the AR feature is cool, but catching the beasties is what I really really want

Yeah I average between 7-8 mph (depending on distance) for my runs and I might as well not have the app turned on. The worse part is that what I gain is inconsistent, I get some towards my eggs but not the whole amount (or even close) and my speed doesn't really change that much. Unless the mark is somewhere around 7 mph I've got nothing.0

I love the game so far! Currently on a quest to find a 10k egg, I haven't gotten one yet. Also has anyone heard the theory about how your eevee's name can effect its eeveelution? I tried it yesterday, named my Eevee Sparky and sure enough I got a Jolteon, but it could've been coincidence0
-
I heard the theorie Glad it works We went out for a nice walk hoping to catch some rare pokemons Unfortunately no 3or 4 G so no Pokemon for me My husband has different provider and did catch some but no rare ones But he is such a sweety, when driving home he took the Pokemon route (back roads) and I caught a new one Currently on level 131

Enjoying it! Thankfully, I live near a nature/cycling trail and there are lots of pokestops and gyms right near my house. It's so hot, I wouldn't normally venture out, but I have been for pokemon! I'm level 13 and working on powering up my Vaporeon, she's around 1200 right now, but I see pokemon in the 1500-1900 range all the time at the gyms.0
-
Went to my first pokemon event the other day and a dewgong spawned, 150 people (including me) swarming towards the lake lol. It was absolutely crazy.0
-
Has anyone heard the theory the 2km eggs are more important for the rarer Pokemon?
You get lots of Ratata's and Pidgeys etc but you will find so few squirtles and pikachu's in the wild that you need to grind out the 2km eggs to get enough of them to evolve them.
Also worth noting once you get 5 or 6 Pokemon up in the 600+ range be on the look out for gyms with single lower level sub 900 Pokemon. You want to be atttacking it as you get to use up to 6 pokemon one after the other(order can be changed) to take it on and then once you've won you can take it over and put your own Pokemon in it. When you put your own in it you need to revisit it quickly then you will find a shield with a 1 in it in the top right corner of the shop. Click that and you will get 10 coins to spend in the shop. You can do this once every 21 hours so you could buy a new incubator every 15 days in theory to help with egg hatching0 -
I've slowed down a lot lately with playing (in part because we don't have a stop we can go to frequently enough to keep stocked). But with the buddy system being released and my fiance joining me a few times a week to workout, I'll be playing more again.
But we've also traveled a bit the last couple of months, so we have good hunts when we leave our local area.0 -
I'm also excited about the buddy system and item trading. My brother gets copious amounts of pokeballs, and me less so. I'll be trading potions for balls since i never fight.
Is anyone planning on getting a pokemon go plus? I plan to get one, I think it will make my walks more productive for collecting and help with hatching eggs.0 -
Fiance and I had talked about getting one early on (aka pre-release of the app itself), but with a lot of the changes, we've been pretty 'meh' and cooled our hooves. Especially since we're buying SuMo this year (He's getting me Sun for my birthday, I'm getting him a 3ds and Moon for his birthday/Christmas). And the more I hear about it, the less I'm excited for the features that it would add. The only reason it would be beneficial is that I could run other apps using my phone while still playing. Though from what I've read, I'm not sure how beneficial it is. Like, I'm not sure if it will long distances to hatch eggs, and from what I've read, I would still have to use my phone to catch new pokemon. So there's a lot of things that are kind of 'meh' about it for me.1

I played a bunch when it came out cause it gave me something to do while I was walking. But then it got cold and I just gave up. But now they have just released the 2nd gen Pokémon and it's starting to get warm again so I might have to give it another shot.
Let me know if yo have been playing it lately.1
