The Minor Tours - Results and Chat Thread

Okay - as a trial thing this year, I'm going to use the very wonderful "CycLeagues" site that Jason designed to give all the participating members an additional Challenge / Motivational thread.
This one is (as most of my challenges are) themed around pro-riders races... In this case, it's (as you'd guess) based on the smaller tours, so not the "big three", but instead the shorter duration ones, often used as preparation for the big tours - but which have their own charm.
Initially, I was thinking to provide results for the following tours...
Critérium du Dauphiné 2016 - 5th June > 12th June
Tour de Suisse 2016 - 11th June > 19th June
Route du Sud 2016 - 16th June > 19th June
Tour of Poland 2016 - 12th July > 18th July
though I may add in some others as I gather the dates for the race...
Please feel free to chip in with suggestions, congratulate the "winners" or even ask how you can join in on this in the thread below... there's no requirement after the signup for you to do much of anything except ride really - no manual logging, so we don't need to worry too much about keeping the thread "clean"...

Perhaps unsurprisingly Jason was something of a run-away winner on this one, seeing as he was basically hitting a century ride for every day of the tour... Fantastic effort, especially as it's in training for his upcoming ride from Lands End to John o'Groats, in aid of Cancer Research... have a look here at his plans - or better still, get your backside over to his justgiving page and hand over some £££'s...

This is a pretty smart idea, week off for me so it'll be interesting to see who tops the others.
Thanks for the charity mention, every £/$/€/¥ etc counts.0 -

Was just about to do so... ToB will follow when it starts - guess you're pretty much a shoe-in for that one...

and that's a wrap for the Minor Tours 2016 folks...
hope it's provided some form of diversion for you all - though it doesn't really feel like it took off somehow...
Here's to 2017 season - need to give some thought as to the direction we take on some of these challenges I think, things seem to be stagnating / becoming less popular, and I hate to see things moving backwards...

Thanks for those, Mark. I don't know about anyone else, but I've been following these pretty keenly - I know I'm never going to hit the top 10 of any of the bigger events, but if the planets align I still hope to break into one of these - especially when the dates all fall onto weekdays1

At least I got the home victory
I think having these as selected 'opt-in' challenges in CycLeagues would be a nice addition, another thing on the to-do list.0
