Late start, but a chat/goals thread for the week. I'm not really focusing on fitness this week, but going to try to get in a run tomorrow morning and some running and swimming over the weekend and I did my physical therapy today and Tuesday. Starting to think through some big goals for the next few months and next year to get excited about.

This week I have been focusing on going to the track and walking a little longer then usual, cutting down on simple carbs & sugar and drinking more water. So far I have done good except for the water part. Craving salty snacks today, but haven't given in to the craving.

Well, I've set a hefty goal for New Year's Day. I reserve the right to change it as we move along. But things are going much better now. Things are as back on track as they probably can be. I'm doing much better now by getting the highly processed foods back out of my life. (You'd think I would eventually learn my lesson about that and I think I have this time.) This week, I haven't gotten as much sleep as I would like, but I'm staying focused and hope to get that back on track this weekend.

I think with the cooler temps, I'm sleeping better. It makes it hard to crawl out in the mornings though! I'm still working on my water intake. I'm getting 8 cups pretty consistently. As far as eating, I've definitely cut out lots of sugars and starches, but not sure I'll ever give up all processed foods. Maybe one day I'll have a personal chef to fill my fridge with lots of yummy, on plan food!

It's already looking like this will be a busy week. We have house painters scheduled Monday through Wednesday. So I'm hoping I will be able to get the sleep I need and still be up and about when they arrive each day. We have lots of house projects right now along with normal life stuff. Groceries have been purchased for the week and today I will create a menu plan for the week. Creating the menu plan and sticking to it is actually one of my goals this week.

Not a great week for me, I'm going to blame the World Series. No excuses this week. ;-)

I ended up down a pound for the week, but up again after the weekend! Even when I stay within my calories, restaurant food has so much more fat and sodium.

The old habits I thought were gone just crept in with amazing scary speed!
