Ho! Ho! Ho!
All we have is the present. Forget about the past. Don't fret about the future. Everyday, focus on being thoughtful before you take a bite, taste, or lick (BTL). Whatever you eat, you should measure and track. Track it right away...not hours later. Right then! It will change your life. It will change your health. It will change your view of yourself.
This is NOT a short-term Challenge. This is a habit changing challenge that if you want it to work, you will be doing this challenge everyday.
When I don't follow the rules of this challenge...I ALWAYS gain weight. When I follow the rules of this challenge, I always lose or maintain weight.
All of us in the UAC are here to support each other. I encourage you to write about yourself and what you are doing each day.

Woo hoo for Dec so to celebrate i don't care if it's freezing out and it's raining I'm going to break out my heavy duty tights and a dress & celebrate the new month. Plus the truth is it's my early day. As I have to work the branch this Sat and there is no overtime I get to leave early so why not. By the way I never realized how obsessed people are with giving new money as gifts. Shoot if people give me cash for a gift I don't care what it looks like.LOL Have a great day everyone!!7

Oh no....My office buddy just filled his M&M dispenser with Christmas colored M&Ms, adding his usual kind invitation to please share. (Sounds like cat food kibble being poured out, and just like the cats, everybody came running.) Quite tempting, but luckily, I am empowered with my magic UAC shield!6

Re: Goal Setting
In college I learned of a study which tracked self-improvement. Subjects were asked to toss pieces of trash into a waste basket which was placed by the subjects themselves, as they saw fit. Some made it very easy, hitting it every time. Others placed it so far away is was very difficult. The middle group set the basket just far enough so they were mostly successful, but not always. Guess what? It was the middle group that was able to improve the most.

@fitqueenbess do we work in the same office? I have a guy near me that does the same with his M&Ms. I love the goal setting post. It is important to set, realistic, attainable but challenging goals.

12/1 Yes x 3. I got the tree up and the lights on it. This Sun is the lunch with my daughter's boyfriend's parents. I am wearing comfy clothes and walking boots just in case my hubby walks out and leaves me there. It's 5 miles to get home and I will be really ticked but I will stay 4 my daughter and walk home so I don't kill my husband. He is really not happy about going. Oh well life goes on.3

On track. 25 degrees this morning but went cycling around the block 18 times. Pretty weird. Mr wizard gave me 510 cal credit for that. Couple hours later rode to walmart. 300 cal for that. Just ate the last of it. No more supper for me but I guess I am not hungry.
Oh, Stairmaster, my knee isn't totally happy with that experience. If I do it again it will only be for thirty minutes5 -

I am a teacher and we had a fire alarm before school started, so I got an extra bit of time to walk around the baseball field with our PE instructor, who is also an early bird.6 -

As the group leader, I have learned that tomorrow, I need to read everyone's report that may appear after mine. If that applies to you, I will read EVERYONE's report.
My report is pretty basic:

Exercise: Now that we are in the boring coldish weather of Chicago area, I usually just putter along with indoor exercise. 25 minutes on my treadmill while watching TV.

Exercise? YEP! Made it to the 5 o'clock class. Started on my push up challenge today. I am working towards doing 10 regular push ups. Today I managed to do 13 straight on my knees with good form. I have never really been able to do them even at my fittest so it may take a while, but I gotta start somewhere!
Calories? Yes with 200 to spare
Tracked? Yes every bite. Including the turkey I stole off my toddlers plate. I know Rick! I have a problem4 -

I was 1/3 most days in November (I do exercise, but cannot string together more than a few days of 100% tracking and staying in goal, but I'm determined to keep trying until I make it into the Winner's Circle!) My Calorie goal - Maintenance seems to be about 1720, so I've set my calorie goal at 1670 to allow some leeway with logging/ measuring errors.
December 1st:
Exercised?: Yes - Instead of taking the laundry to the couch and folding clothes while watching TV (am on a total Christmas movie kick right now- it has stayed on the Hallmark channel all week. lol) I took one article of clothing out at a time and walked to the rooms to put them away. 2 loads = 20 minutes
Calories?: Yes - 1117 (not usual for me, but I go through fluctuations of being over a couple days, then being under. I just eat when I'm hungry- and it's worked for me, but hoping this challenge will help even things out.)

I'm baaaaaaack!!! Guys, I did a complete crash and burn in November, the first time it has happened since probably July. But, it was only a stumble. The good news is that while I didn't lose any weight, I didn't gain any either. But, this is a new month and I'm here to kick some weight to the curb. Yes X3! I kept track of everything, stayed under cals, worked out for an hour, AND my own goal, got in my daily water! Today was a great start to December!4

Pass Day # 1 for me!! I didn't exercise as I felt I needed a break, but I was under my calories. This month will be tricky, but I will be back on track tomorrow.
