Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?

    Good day!!
I'm back from my business trip and visit with our daughter, Catherine.
It's very tiring, but it is so good to be back home...to a very cold wintery weather time. December is a month of wildy conflicting feeling for many of us. There is good, sad, happy, disappointed. I wish for all of you that this team adds some joy and friendship to your journey toward health and inner peace.
    What's happening in your life?????
    Rick

    Yesterday's report for me:
I had a very vigorous workout in the hotel. I do two days per week of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). I use my Polar Heart Monitor to indicate my intensity levels from 60% of Maximum Heart Rate (MHR) to my personal 85% of MHR. My intervals are like a sprint. You can use almost any cardio intense exercise to get your MHR. My true Maximum Heart Rate at effort is 159 beats per minute. That is based on a VO2Max test that I had took three years ago. I adjust my expected Max Heart Rate down by 1 beat per minute for each year of aging.
Anyway, yesteday, my little victory was that it took a higher rate of speed to push my heart rate up to my 85% level.
I'm happy to report that despite a trip to California, I was able to keep on track with my calories; tracking and activity.

    Rick,
I like your Christmas pictures and conversation seeds. I never had a VO2max test to determine my max heart rate. I just figure 220 - age = HRmax. That puts old guy like me at like 156. So 90% is like 140 beats. That is high as I go these days. I used to try to get average of 90% in spin class. Not any more. I agree with 85% being just fine. Actually I could burn calories and lose weight at even lower than that. If I am going for more than an hour 130 works out.
Today is the coldest day of the year so far. I always wonder about horses when it is cold. When I lived in Alaska there were some wild horses on the island I was on. Those horses lived for years without shelter. I always wondered how they survived. Me and a couple of guys build kind of a three sided shelter and a roof for them. They took to it pretty much immediately.
I think they weren't really wild but rather abandoned. There was a ranch that was kind of a financial debacle. Those guy couldn't even get their cows and horses out. Weird though is that I think some of the cows are still alive and propagating. Geesh, was that 50 years ago?
Cold. I am going to go to the gym and see if they will let me in for ten bucks. Then I will go see Buddy and see if Teacher will let us go outside. Oh, wait! They are making pizza. I wonder if I can get Buddy to roll the dough a little bit.

Oh Rick, I don't think you really want to know whats happening in my life... LOL I'm glad you made it home safely!
Christmas is always a stressful time for me because of my side of the family and the inevitable drama. (Thus the planned beers last night) However, this Christmas will be especially hard because my father in law passed away in February this year.
I genuinely wish I could fully enjoy this season. My husband and I love to drive around different neighborhoods Christmas light looking and listening to music and chatting. We try to focus on the reason of the season as well as all the positive things that happen around this time of year. Now that we have a little one to share it all with, my hope is that we can start to focus making this season great for him.

Put this in a file called old guys exercising. That is ten dollars worth at my little gym. I was trying to spin in 15 minute segments. Mr wizard gave me 570 calories for that. On break I would do that ABS coaster and some other abs machine that I would put on 3. It had like shoulder straps and cables and stuff. I think I guessed it just right for my back.
Anyway the beauty of this whole thing was my knee liked it fine. Yay!

I love the winter pic @bocasdelbob . I lived in Alaska on an island, too! No wild horses, though. Just bears. (and other less threatening fauna)
I love the winter. I wish we had some snow here. Have a beautiful evening, everyone.

Darn! I went over my calories. I was reasonable but was unable to plan the evening and it got away from me.
Exercise - 45 minutes master swim class and a 20 power walk inside the offices and staircase early this morning before everybody arrived.
    Tracking - Best I could.

    Hi,
Today, I'm tired but doing ok. After a HIIT workout day, I lay off and do easy walking. In the winter my exercise calories are way low compared to the summer farm chores and horseback riding. My weight is staying where I ended last month, but I know that the big multiple day family force feeding frenzy is being planned for the Christmas weekend.
Today: walking on treadmill for 30 minutes while watching tv.
Calories: under by a tad...that's enough. I ate very healthy foods, and enjoyed my daily red wine.
    Tracking: very ok.

    Calories: Yes
    Tracking: Yes

It is supposed to be only 8*F here next week, so I know how you are feeling Rick! We are used to it up north, though. I took a hike yesterday and just made sure to wear multiple layers.

Thankfully, I am surrounded by a spectacular group of family and friends. Last week, I found out that I am going to be an auntie for the first time! The little spud is due July 8th

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
YES! 45 minute Cardio Boxing Class

Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Yes and I'm figuring out how to bulk up my smoothies for more protein and calories when I have an all smoothie day! YAY!

Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?
    sure did! :+1:

So much is happening in my life right now but predominately THE HOLIDAZE and the fact that my newlywed Hubby and I are FINALLY moving into a house we bough last July! I have to say I'm quite proud that I am still able to focus on my health booster this month in the midst of all this craziness although I must admit the exercise is DEFINITELY a stress reliever for me!

Seems we feel all our feelings (like you said) this time of year, but I think somehow they are amplified...I wish peace and joy for real!

    Merry :cookie:Christmas :star:Everyone! :kissing_heart:

Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? No - went over by about 50. Had my staff x-mas party pot-luck in the office, so I had a few too many treats, but not too bad. trying to get back on track tomorrow and on the weekend.

    me too, @EmilyCowlard2016! :(

Pass day #3 for 12/8. I did not meet my calorie goal. Still, I must have done something right this week because I lost 4 lbs! (Most of this was water weight from last week, but still it's better than continuing to go up!)
