This has been helpful for me too. I live in the northern part of AZ - mountains, snow, sub-zero temps in the winter. It's only my second winter here from Phoenix so I'm still learning. What I did invest in last year were some Nanospikes and with those suckers I can run on snow and black ice I swear. I didn't see those mentioned I don't think?

@jenring3 I'm also looking at the Nanospikes. I live in Idaho and there is snow and packed ice 3-4 months during winter. My question for you is do they hug too tight around your shoe? I have a slightly wide foot mostly forefoot and wear size 10 running shoe. The chart shows to order a Medium. Thoughts or advice?

I haven't used Nanospikes, but I've seen them in the running stores. Some of my friends who run trails in the winter like them, and each size of Nanospikes appears to adjust to several shoe sizes. If you're not sure which one would fit you, try to find a local running store that carries them and see if the staff will fit you to the proper size.
