If you are new and want to join in, by all means do! We love to celebrate those losses with you! This is the standard format we try to use for these threads:

SW: Starting weight before you lost anything.
CW: Current weight at the beginning of the challenge.
GW: Goal weight for the month (what you would like to weigh at the end of the monthly challenge) Try to keep it realistic and SAFE!

    Sorry I went MIA for a few months, found out I am pregnant so been kinda busy... Not trying to lose weight right now, just keep track of my weight gains and losses... :blush:

    LTGW: 170. (Saw my Doctor today. He says it's feasible.)

    CW: 276 as of 1/3/17
    GW: 150

    Gained about a pound then lost it. Trust me, I was trying so hard not to have big gains and never want to see 280 and higher. Highest weight was 301 lbs. I believe was in 2008. Never again! This year just safely get this obesity problem under control.

    You can do it everyone! If you hear a weird loud noise in the next week, that's me yelling from Texas when I finally make it below 200 lbs for the first time since 1995!!!! (I stayed that weight for like a day and went back up. And up. It happens. That was before MFP. THIS is the tool that can help us all do it and keep it off!!!)

    Hi friends, first of all big congratulations to Malia on your lovely news ^_^ Before the holidays I was at 270 so my basic plan for the end of January is to shift the Christmas weight plus one bonus lb and then head into Feb back in the swing of things. I am hoping I can conjure up some epic will power after holiday indulgence :P Good luck to everyone.

    Progress has been slow first 2 weeks.....I'll blame the transition back to work after a 3 week holiday! Going to get my fat *kitten* in gear now though and this group could be just the ticket, thanks for having me :smile:

    I know my LTGW is more than some of your SW's, but it's what's right for me for now.....it's the weight I was aged 18 and very active. Most likely I'll lower it if/when I get there but I feel it's the right target for me. No judgment, right?

    Hey Jen ^_^ I always slow down (or even grind to a hault) with changes like that but hopefully by the end of the month you'll be back in the swing of things (and me as well hehe). I think your long term goal is very sensible! Mine feels unrealistic, next month I might change it to the weight I was when I met my husband as I felt pretty good then, and then like you, lower it if and when I get there :) Good luck!

    Thanks Gnawcraft! I think we have to feel that our target is achievable, and something that brings us fulfilment even if it isn't where we "should" be - any loss is an immense improvement on where we started and anyone who doesn't like it can shove off! :smiley:

    As I say, my goal is the weight I was aged 18, at that point I was living an active life (walking a minimum of 4 miles a day, regularly up to 12 miles, 4-6 days a week, as well as dancing the night away! Ah to be young again!) It's a weight that is (just!) low enough for me to take part in certain activities I'd like to try. I've never been even close to that again in my adult life, so for me would be an incredible achievement, and would seriously change my whole life and open up so many possibilities to me.

    Medically speaking, I "should" lose another 100lb or so beyond that, but the difference it will make to my life and my health just to get as far as that (and it IS a long way!) is sooooooo immense that I don't think any reasonable doctor would argue with it as a target.

    I left my husband last year, 6 stone (84lb) heavier than when I met him....and that was having twice lost 2+ stone and put it back on again. Leaving him was when I sort-of started this journey, but now I'm committing to it properly. Let's make 2017 our year!!!!!

    Jen- Comparison really is the thief of joy. I think we all have a goal of becoming healthier versions of ourselves. Your goal is realistic and achievable, and if it makes you happy, go for it!!! My goal this month will probably need to be adjusted, as I'm feeling a grinding halt coming too with some scale bouncy action going on. My body is a little shocked to be under 200 finally after being well into the 300's for half my life. Onward and downward!

    I don't even :< Not sure why that happened lol. I thought I'd lose one not gain one though I was slacking and didn't log everything as accurately as I could have after my 2 month break >_< Oh well, month goal seems a little harder now but I'd be happy with anything below the 273 I was last week, sooo 2lbs will be my new goal for next week! I think I'd better get back on my bike! And thanks for the warm welcome back Brooke it's good to be here.

    It's only one week, don't lose heart! Focus on how far you've come since you started. You'll get back in the swing of it and recover the loss (gain!)
