Hi, ladies! Ready for a new week? Lol I know I skipped week 40 but that's because I accidentally made a duplicate week 39. I'll get this discussion making process down sooner or later!

This weekend was a bust for me. I didn't do well at all. I'm back at it strong today though. Mother nature came calling (a full week early) over the weekend and I just didn't feel like it. At least it didn't derail me completely and send me into a tail spin. I've got things back under control and I'm doing good again today.

How are you all doing?

I did really well yesterday. I was under calories, and just a little over on carbs. I'm always too low on protein and that's something I need to work on. So for breakfast this morning I'm having a turkey (3oz) sandwich on Hungry Girl bread with a little mayo. I roasted a turkey the other day (I bought 2 on Thanksgiving and saved one). Last night we had turkey and dumplings...omg it was *heavenly*. Sooooo freaking good. Good on nutrition too. I packed it with carrots and celery, and put in lots of meat. Anyways, I had exactly enough turkey left for one sandwich. Starting my day off on a good, healthy note! My husband will be mad at me for eating the turkey...he wanted it. But he's already had 2 sandwiches, and this one gives me 2 sandwiches so it's all square.

I'm determined to have a good day. How about you?

Good morning! I'm glad to hear that you're focusing in macros @AZLisaLou. You're doing great! I'm having a rough couple of days.. kiddo got super sick yesterday and we ended up in urgent care. She has the flu and can't go to school today either.. so I'm staying home from work. Haven't felt too great myself but I'm not super sick..fingers crossed! I'm having a lump checked and had an ultrasound yesterday. Driving up to Tucson to see my surgeon Thursday. With my history I don't take any of that lightly. Then we also had our heater break and our water softener started leaking.. thank goodness I rent and landlord takes care of all that. So WHEW! I'll be glad if I just Hold steady this week. Haven't been able to go to the gym with sick kid. Sitting home I ate comfort carbs all day yesterday. Anyway.. getting back on track today. Wish me luck!

    Have a great day!

sorry to hear your kiddo's sick and you're not feeling well. hope it passes quickly. my son stayed home from school yesterday with the creeping crud (what we call general all around sickness, body ache, headache, throat hurts, stomach upset, etc.). He's on the mend and went back to school today.

I started off great, and I'm ending up great. The middle of my day? Not so much. I'm embarrassed to say that the Lucky Charms in the pantry got the better of me. a lot. a lot lot. I had a little binge on it. :( Ok, so I had a huge sink hole in the road today, but I'm not going to let it completely throw me into a tail spin. I'm back on track for dinner and the rest of my night. :( (walking away with tail between my legs)

Good morning @AZLisaLou glad to hear you didn't let one mistake derail your day. Hope you're doing better today! I'm back at work for another couple hours.. then off to my Primary Care dr and leaving early tomorrow am for Tucson to see my surgeon. Whew! Good thing for good friends. I am a lucky woman to have such a wonderful supportive group of women around me. I'm logging today and focusing on cals and water. A bit of a disappointment today with my weigh-in as I'm still at 166, no loss last week. But I'll take it. Getting this week off to a good start. Have a great night!!! Just say no to the lucky charms! ;)

Slowly trying to get back to it. One small step at a time. Just getting back on here is my first step :) Right now we are finishing out all of the crap-ish food in the house, recovering from Christmas ( making my shopping list as cheap as possible) My goal is to be full force come Feb 1st. I am going back home to Cali in May to visit my BFF who recently got diagnosed with cancer and I plan on eating ALOT! I HAVE SOOO MANY FOOD PLACES I MISS BACK HOME! So I am trying to go a little below what my "goal" is because I will probably Gain 10 lbs while I am gone lol So 140 lbs by May ? Maybe? I can try anyways lol
So that is 16.2 lbs in about 16 weeks....which is totally do-able, if I just get my head out of my *kitten* lol
Starting Monday, I WILL LOG ALL OF MY FOOD, I WILL INCREASE MY WATER INTAKE, AND I WILL GET BACK TO MY AT WORK SQUATS, AND LUNGES IF MY ANKLE ALLOWS :)

I got this! (Can you tell I am trying to talk myself into it? lol

    Morning girls!

I guess I have been absent all week so far. I have had sort of a busy week I guess. Worked monday/tues and then yesterday went with my parents to Halifax as my dad had an appt with a specialist. Thats a full day, as its 3 hrs away. Left at 7am and got back at 7pm. Lots of driving!
I haven't been doing that great. Yesterday wasn't bad...but I really need to get a grip on my nighttime snacking. I am up since Christmas and if I don't put a stop to my nightime fiascos I will be way up.
Hope you are all feeling better! I know there is stuff going around here too, so far it hasn't hit here.

@heatherc369 So sorry to hear about your friend. :( I hope she recovers well and lives a long happy life. You can do 1 lb a week. Get the Christmas food gone (I know what that's like!!!), replace it with some healthy stuff and get on your way. How is your ankle doing right now? What if you start with some semi squats and lunges so it doesn't put too much pressure on your ankle, but so that you can get used to doing it again? Just a thought.

@maureli What do you think is leading to your night time snacking? are you watching tv? Reading a book? Something that works for me sometimes is sucking on Lifesavers. Not the mints, but the sweet fruity ones. Even if I have 5 it's less than 100 calories and can take quite a while to get through. What kinds of things are you craving? Can you find alternatives? I don't know if it was on here or on Fitday, but someone told me about popping popcorn, spraying with a little canola spray, sprinkling on onion powder and grated parmesan. It's actually super good and you can snack on a whole lot for very few calories. Plus it's great on fiber. What about a protein bar or shake?

Yesterday was part good and part meh. I made a Unicorn Pie and had a piece. What is unicorn pie you ask? Cream cheese, sugar, heavy whipping cream beat into a fluff. Then you separate it in 5 bowls, add food coloring to make pretty colors, dollop them by big spoonfuls all over a graham cracker crust and swirl. Oh, then of course you have to have sprinkles on top because unicorns are all about rainbows and sprinkles. lol. It was adorable and very tasty. Very costly on calories and carbs though. The rest of the day was pretty good, but I still managed to go over on calories and carbs....oh, there was maybe a soda in there. (I'm so ashamed!) Seriously though, I can't be perfect. I have great days, like today is a great day, I have mediocre days (which was yesterday) and sometimes I go completely off the rails. I just need to find a balance where my good days are more than bad, and so far this new year I think I'm being pretty successful.

Hope you all have a great day!

Morning! Looks like the sun is coming out here today, seems like its been awhile since I've seen that! Feeling a tad bit sore from my workout yesterday, a good kind of sore though. Soon heading down to do todays, not sure what it will be.
@azlisalou - I just want to pick at everything. I guess it would be salty stuff. Generally, if I can get one good night in.....I will be ok, it gets easier. Every year after Christmas its the same thing. Its like I don't want to let go of the Christmas fun...snacks and wine. haha I did do better last night, not like I'd like...but better. The life savors are a good idea, thanks, I will give that a try. Anything that works!
Oh my...the Unicorn pie sounds just delightful! yum.

Meeting my sister for lunch today, I'm not too worried about that. I don't usually have trouble in the day, I plan to get some sort of salad. The place we are going has quite a few good ones to pick from.

@maureli how did lunch with your sister go? Did you get a workout in?

Today was good for me. I'll end up going over my calorie by a little over 100, but yesterday I was under by about the same so it's a wash. I'm under on carbs, got in 108g protein, and 22g fiber. I'm over on fats and sugars :(. Honestly I don't know how to make every single macro right on target. I think I did good today, and I'm happy.

My husband offered to have pizza or Chinese take out tonight. I resisted! yea me! Instead I had a spinach salad with chickpeas and sunflower seeds and a cup of home made chicken/mashed potato/cheddar soup (delicioso by the way!)

Off topic. I have to brag about my 15 yo Freshman daughter. She has worked an after school job since she was 14 (at a Culver's restaurant). She works probably 4-5 afternoons/evenings a week. Even with her work schedule, she still has maintained a 4.0 gpa and found out today she is ranked #1 in her class of 741 students. omg is that amazing or what???!!! I'm one proud mama!

Wow @azlisalou you should be pretty darn proud of your daughter! That is fantastic, and she must feel pretty pumped too :)
Lunch with my sister was great, I did like you....I had a spinach salad with grilled chicken. Felt totally good about it. Good for you resisting the pizza!

A bit of snow here this morning but not enough to be a bother. Just to make it pretty. Going to get my workout in now....did chisel cardio yesterday.

    Have a great weekend all!

Hello ladies. Last day of the week. Who's finishing strong? I'm doing ok so far today. I did have a little soda; however, I'm doing really well in that department, so I won't let it derail me. Just got my exercise in by walking the super Walmart with a cart full of groceries. I get lots more steps in on grocery day, that's for sure.

Have a good day and I'll see you tomorrow for another week.

Hi ladies! I'm sorry I was offline all weekend. I had surgery on Friday to remove the "cyst-like" lump on my chest and I've been off track all together. I am now on 4-6 weeks of weight lifting restrictions which totally blows.. I'm taking this next week off and then going to start going back to gym with cardio and legs to keep myself motivated. I'm in stressed mode waiting for the pathology to come back on my biopsy.. until that comes back I'm going to be on pins and needles. I'm glad to see everyone back and posting here.. I'll keep you all updated on what I hear back.

@Kerryatoon Ugh I hate when stuff like that happens! Praying you don't get too far off track and heal quickly :)
