Lol Rick you make me laugh! So what am I going to do today? Well someone told me about this fruit and veggies guy who sells at a flea market. I think I am going to get my mom and check it out. My dad has my aunt and uncle over playing cards for the last few days and it gets on my mom's nerves as they scream at each other. Just peeked out the window we have some major fog maybe I will stay put till it clears a little. I can't see anything a huge construction truck just went by the house with its flashers on. Still better than snow you may not be able to see but the road is clear.0

Spin, spin, salabim.
I went to a spin class called RPM. I think it is some kind of franchise component of Les Mills or something like that. I used to think that RPM was too wimpy for me. Now I think I must be getting old.
I ran my heart for an average of 93% for like 56 minutes. I was bouncing off of redline in my warmup. I keep thinking that I am not going to do that any more. Heh.
A lady sat next to me that might of had BMI of less than 20. That kind of body composition means there is muscle striations everywhere. Geesh, I didn't want to stare but....
I seen that lady a couple of years ago in a spin class we called "Happy Hour." That class of course was Friday at 5.00p. There were some hard core cyclists in there stretching their legs in the off season. She sat on bike next to me and blurted out at the end of class, "he never went below 15." I said "yes I did." She said, "no you didn't." So that is the "friction" calibration on them spin bikes. Her pals must have put her up to tracking my metrics. Hey, they coulda just asked me, but then again I'd a probably exaggerated.
I scanned that link @hkaccompanist posted. That got me to kind of thinking philosophically or psychologically about the chicken and the egg. Do I got to have positive self image, you know, feel good about myself before I can get serious about investing in my health by way of diet and exercise? Or is it a reverse order thing? I got to start investing in my health and fitness in order to feel good about myself?
Nevermind that. Boys just want to have fun. Hey and if they are sitting on a spin bike next to a girl there is going to be a race. Even though racing spin bikes is the stupidest idea ever.
Weird eh?

Oh no, get well Rick!
Spin , spin , spin Bob. Great work! Ha that lady sounds just like a lady who was a regular at the spot class I used to go to.
@hkaccompanist thanks for sharing. Not sure I agree with lots of it though. Though I do remember reading a study that we all have our actual self and our ideal self and he closer the two are the better our well being and happiness. There are note external factors at play though than just what we want and don't want.
Exercise: yes
Food and tracking: no. Neighbours had a party. 3 large glasses of red wine. Pass 4 oops.3 -
I don't agree the article choice of words "suffering" and "pain"; but to me, I like how it reminded us "what do we want" needs what we are willing to do to achieve it.
If I asked my students, what do they want for their grade in class. All of them will say A. But not all of them spends the necessary time to study for an A; same as our journey to be healthy, sometimes we know what's good for us and what we should do to achieve, but we may not do it. For sure there's always exception for everything, things happened in life and we may have other conditions that hinder us from getting what we want, but I am just making an example in a more general sense.
This may not apply to others, but to me... it reminds me what I willing to do to get what I want. I always say I want to run a 5k, but I also always give myself excuses, too tired or not have enough time; but I know if I spend the time sitting on couch watching Netflix to start moving or walking, I can be more productive... so this article reminds me just that2 -

It's a Pass day for me.
The best thing is that I have not had an asthma attack. All of my life, whenever I get a cold, it progresses into something worse. Not this time...I'm better today than yesterday. For the last year, I have been using a daily maintenance inhaler brand, Symbicort. It really has helped me. I'm on the upswing.
Thanks everyone.2 -

Heh! Oldest guy I ever seen in a spin was 94. I am going to ask around tomorrow see what ever became of that guy. I think he would be 96 now.0 -
Sorry you were sick Rick!
I dont necessarily 100% agree with way the message is written in that article, but I agree that you can't expect to get something without "paying" for it. I don't see the time in the gym or the effort to track calories as a 'struggle' or 'painful'. It is simply a step to get to where I want to be. I suppose that it all comes down to perspective and attitude. I think a lot of people aren't honest with themselves about what they truly want. Just my 2 cents
Exercise? Several walks around the neighborhood. My kitty got out this morning and hasnt come home. We spent most of the day walking and driving around looking for her.
Tracking/Calories? Yes0
