Hahah ok I thought I was making a Title description there with my first post..
I created this Topic because I re-injured my back two nights ago and am slightly frustrated because I know the best thing to do is to stop working out and fully rehab my back (icing, stretching, massage) for the next few days until it's safe again to continue, and I am going to do that but I thought this incident would serve as a good reminder to the group that there will always be something that tries to get in the way of our goal but it's how we react to it that defines us.
I don't want to stop working out because it means I can eat more and I was making great progress with weight lifting and I liked the routine of walking to the gym everyday - I was being active. Eating healthy and being healthy is easier when you are active but the important thing is I continue my overall routine of being healthy. So I have to spend an hour or more rehabing my back a day instead of doing cardio or lifting weights, I'm still moving forward and am ot derailing.
Keep your eyes on the prize and it will be so rewarding.

Not enough puddin'.
Seriously, though. It's funny what nbd foods I have never cared about at all have become treats I look forward to. Like chocolate sugar free pudding is basically ambrosia to me now?4 -
Are you able to swim anywhere? I know that's low impact and can keep you from feeling like you're doing nothing. Just remember that most weight is lost with eating well and just do your best to stay on track without being too hard on yourself.3

@CalorieCounterGuy Ooo, that sucks so much. Take good care, back injuries (even just muscle ones) can take a long time to heal right. You're doing the right thing taking it easy.1

I feel for you. Had a back injury as well six months ago, well still struggling with it a bit, but finally getting back to the point where it isn't impacting my ability to be active. FINALLY was able to start running again this week, was so excited! But it took awhile. And yes, these things really mess with you. Not only is it easy to put on weight because you burn less.. for me the stress of not having the pleasure of working out, and then the pain of it, also made me more likely to want to indulge in chocolate etc. Key thing I think is to be consistent in logging what you eat and keeping accountable. But hope you will be better soon and back to walking to the gym. VERY jealous of that btw, having a gym in walking distance?!2

Thank you! Yeah I'll bounce back quick because I know what to do because I have experience in rehab therapy, thank you for the encouragement!1 -

Completely! Being consistent is so key, you are so right, and I love recording everything I put into my body because it makes me more aware of what I'm actually eating and more importantly, it really does work! I know I will be better soon, I just did an acupuncture as well and it helped.
Oh man the gym is 1.3 miles away, and I walk to it everyday and it's the best. It was even POURING rain the other day and I grabbed my umbrella and walked to the gym in the monsoon and it was such a fun thing to do. I get to log about 40 minutes of walking too, which allows me to eat even more calories (although some days I struggle to meet my minimum requirement). I am happy your back is doing better. I had double inguinal hernia surgery last June and I literally did not get to work out for 7 months. I am so happy to be back.1 -

Hope you feel better soon @CalorieCounterGuy .
I can use some support and motivation. Last 3 days i have gone over my daily calories. Im eating things i should not eat like white rice and craving things like chocolate and sugary stuff. I dont feel totally full after meals and i am eating seconds for dinner. I have been feeling sick of flu this week and whenever i feel sick i cant exwecise and get more hungry instead of loosing appetite( weird right?) . I am also breastfeeding and taking care of my two children and our home plus in the process of getting evicted from our home. All this stress has made me feel not motivated to eat right or exercise at all. Not good for our first week.0 -
It sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now @rodsteph777 Wouldn't worry too much if I were you; and definitely don't beat yourself up over it, considering what you are dealing with. Look at the bright side: at least you are tracking calories and being aware of what you eat. Maybe this hasn't been the greatest week for you, but if you hadn't been keeping track, things might have been worse.1

It is great to be back, @CalorieCounterGuy I agree and while I love living remote, being 30 minutes driving from the gym is one of the drawbacks. Though on the upside can ski or hike right from my backyard. Have to try and create some jealousy back here :P
