Banking calories from Fitbit

Hello all. Just have a query on the above. I have MFP set to sedentary, which I think is fine as I'm fairly active during the week (average at about 14,000+ steps a day) but weekends are less. Just wondering, because the deficit can be fairly high during the week, do you think it would be okay to 'bank' some of those calories for the weekend? I don't bank all of them but just some. Say for instance on both Monday and Tuesday this week I was in a deficit of just over 500 on each day so banked 200 for each day. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Within a week isn't so bad, just confirm you aren't creating a bigger more stressful deficit to your body than it wants.
Otherwise the fight it will give you won't be appreciated in the results.
The bigger pigout you do on the weekend with those extra calories will cause a bigger weight gain than just the fat though, extra water from the likely extra sodium, and extra carbs finally being stored in muscle with attached water.
You should make your valid weigh-in day no wear near the weekend for your own sanity, unless you are unlike most women who can't separate mere data of scale readings from emotions.
It would be better to bank the days closer to the weekend, and the days after.
Like 100 left in green on Thu, 200 on Fri, small breakfast/lunch on Sat.
Then 200 on Mon, 100 on Tue.

Hi heybales. Thank you for your response.
A good point made regarding my weigh in day. I may make this the Friday before the weekend rather than the Monday after.
I don't think I am putting too much stress on my body re the larger deficit. Just that, because I tend to go to the gym, walk more, swim and am generally more active during the week, I tend to clock up the exercise calories more then but need them more at the weekend when I'm not so active but have more social events to attend so more calories consumed. Say for instance, on Monday I ate 1,485 calories but then burnt 880 (so banked 200 from that), on Tuesday I ate 1,679 calories but then burnt 985 (so saved 200 from that too). I'm certainly not starving or struggling.
It has been an interesting read when users have set their profile at lightly active but then notice how this is more of a hindrance to them regarding the calorie deficit. I have a sit down job in the office but am probably more active in that than what I realise (with a lot of 'toing and froing' for the bosses during the day).
WeightWatchers used to have a great system of banking calories but there system and processes have being overhauled and changed so many times I got sick and tired of getting new to a new system for it only to change again. Hence doing MFP teamed with Fitbit.
Thanks again.0 -
The MFP activity level setting along with activity tracker syncing only effects how large the adjustments start and end up during the day.
By the end of the day - the figures are the same for total eaten.
It has more to do with planning when you don't actually plan your day, and how early you hit the couch and bed at night for when you reach your goal and adjustments the next morning on sync.1 -
Thank you for your response Heybales. I will keep this all in mind. Have a good day.0
