I found the back road . :# No lights so I won't be taking it if it's dark out. It does go right along the railroad tracks. The other side has ditches that are so big and deep it could submerge your car. Definitely a day light only route. I have to work on another route that will bring me onto the other side of the highway. I do great with landmarks when this one building was a cigar shop I knew to turn there as they had pretty awnings and a wood Indian. Lol Now I have to locate the spot and see what's there and see if I can find the right turn . Maybe today ;)

It was cold and miserable yesterday. I think you forget how rainy spring can be til that's all it does.

Good morning! And good night to aeshippers!

Yesterday @pribud asked a question. I thought I would move it here since it was at end of day and of some people might not have seen it:
"A little confused about the extra calories we get for exercising. I am hearing we should be eating some of them but I am scared too, there are already weeks that I stay the same or have small losses, would that not make my loss even slower?"

From what I have heard and what I have experienced, everyone is, of course, different regarding if they can eat back their exercise calories and lose weight. That being said, if you work out with lots of intensity, you may need more calories that day. Otherwise, repeated huge calories deficits will make your body think it should be in starvation mode and slow down your metabolism. For me personally, I don't usually eat back my exercise cals unless I run more than say 8 miles. Sometimes I do eat them back because I'm going out to eat or something, but don't figure I'll lose as much weight. For you, if you know your calorie count is truly accurate and you are eating good foods, then perhaps you really do need to add a few hundred calories in for a bit. Does anyone else have experiences or thought to add??

I eat back some of my exercise calories for the following reasons

    1. It gives me more incentive to exercise - although I need this less now than I did at the start.
    2. I get too hungry if I don't and I am willing to compromise on speed of weight loss in order to stick with the plan.

I am finding that even eating back some of my exercise calories I am currently losing weight faster than mfp expects although when I first starting biking to work my weight loss stalled and in fact went up briefly which I assume was due to increased muscle mass.

    Yes x 3

I have found that I generally can't eat my exercise calories back and lose weight . Unless as above it was a particularly big day. Ah well. Lucky you to everyone (the majority of people I think) who can - enjoy it! Likewise with nursing the general consensus seems to be you can eat an extra 2000 a day! Didn't apply to me.

I like the global weather report. Alternated between cloudy and sunny here today and was windy. Night all. Hope you've had happy days.

My thoughts are eat your exercise calories if and when you are hungry. Some days I am hungrier than other days. Listen to your body cues.

Exercise? Yes 40 minutes personal training/20 minute dog walk
    Tracking? Yes
    Within calories? Yes

Exercise calories? I like having them available if I need them. I agree that some days, especially hard workout days, I am hungrier. Also, when I plan to eat out, it will be on an exercise day if possible.

@lovesretirement I am amazed at how fast your grandbaby is growing. He is getting so big.

I only eat the calories if I am hungry.

I find I get hungry the NEXT day if I don't eat them. Eg I did several hours of work in my garden on Sunday, didn't eat the calories and wasn't hungry but really struggled Monday as I was really hungry all day.

@am_change - global weather report, it is bucketing down here and expecting gale force winds later. It is the tail end of cyclone Debbie that hit Queensland Australia last week.

@2020pinktogo...I wish the pic showed the entire shot...his legs are long, and he nearly fits the entire napper thingy he's in. He will be 8 weeks old Friday...such a blessing!

    1. 50 minutes of HIIT
    2. Saved 100 calories
    3. Tracked it all.

I try to not eat back my calories. If I do, and its rare, I only eat 1/4 of the estimated calories. I try to be super conservative because all those exercise calories are just estimates. ;)

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? YES (1 hr 15 min mall walking)
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? YES
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES

I decided to mix it up with a mall walk instead of the gym today, as it was getting late in the day. I never bring money with me, though last weekend hubby went walking with me in the mall and we ended up getting a couple of sweet clearance deals on shirts for him. He had the money this time.

I am never successful with my eating plan if I'm hungry! Plus, I have a personal goal to increase my muscle mass so I defiantly dip into maybe a quarter to half of my exercise calories. However, I try to remember, "You can't outrun a donut!"

    - Exercise - yes - Morning flow yoga, noon spin class
    - Tracking - yes
    - calories - yes - I am actually well under today, with no exercise points. I hope I can sleep!

A big day of babysitting my 18 month old grandson and 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. I did go for a 45 minute walk after supper with one of my daughters. A beautiful spring evening. Stayed within my calorie limit( was hungry for chips so I had a few and then I felt satisfied). Tracked everything. Love this accountability. It's working for me.

Thanks everyone for the responses to my question about extra calories earned by working out. I decided I am going to eat some if I need them and I am going to ensure I workout and use my extra calories if we are going out for supper or special occasions. It is good to know we have options!
Did I exercise yes but only 30 minutes on my exercise bike
    Calories yes was under
tracking yes, even my nibbles of nuts and peanut brittle....lol

Yes, it is lots of fun! Sometimes a drum stick will go flying, a ball will get away, someone will get out of sync, etc. A lot of laughter, but also a great full body workout....lotsa sweat!!!
