If I was a really good marketing director for the UAC team, I would have posted the July UAC link on the MFP challenge bulletin board. But, I dropped the ball and never did it.
So, please tell me how you found this little treasure of the UAC team...
Thanks, Rick

I know @trixsey1 found UAC through the Challenge board this month.
I found UAC through one of your posts on the challenge board. - http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10548072/ultimate-accountability-challenge-may-2017
Best challenge on MFP as it is not weight dependent. Encourages the right habits and can be used irrespective of personal goals.
Weight goal challenges (like Biggest Loser) can foster unhealthy habits that can backfire seriously - https://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/02/health/biggest-loser-weight-loss.html. Repairing a damaged metabolism (without ballooning weight) is more difficult than losing weight in the first place.
Slowly does it is the best way to sustainable results. Consistent vigilance (correct habits), allows gains to be kept long term.

I haven't posted any goals for July other than to stay in my maintenance weight range (and to make the winner's circle obviously). This is deliberate as July is a very busy and stressful month for me work wise and will involve some longish days so don't want to take on too much.
Cycled to work today but no other exercise. Was early in and slightly late home so very dark both ways, will be much better in a few weeks once it starts to get lighter. For those who are new to the group a significant amount of my exercise comes from my cycle commute to work which is 12km (7.5 miles) each way and takes about 35 minutes (I'm not particularly quick) so over an hour a day.
Tracking was good and calories just under (can feel the stress eating starting to kick in already)7 -
Exercised - Yes

I found UAC by searching the groups .. I joined 4 groups for June (3 of them (inc this one) had similar ideas)
1st group died within 3 days of joining although there were many members the moderator only logged in once and it ended up just myself and one other person posting out updates for the remainder of the month.
2nd group had about 4 or 5 members who all logged in till the end (one of those members joined this group) as the other group was not running again.
3rd group (this one) was the busiest by far, I advertised it on my page at the end of June and a few of my MFP friends joined for this month.
4th group was kinda dead when i joined so I started my own thread in it and made a challenge, 7 people joined me once we had completed the challenge I started my own group we are currently doing a miles challenge 10 people now virtually travelling from big ben to the great wall of china.9 -
@Slimpossible007 Good to know that our group UAC is alive and well. We have a great, consistent, organized and passionate leader @RangerRickL which is key. We also have members who are engaged and passionate/serious about making changes towards a healthier lifestyle. Good leadership AND engaged/committed members makes for an awesome thriving community. Love it!!
@craigo3154 Thank-you for all your insights and knowledge. I look forward to your post every day.9 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yep, 70 minutes of cycling and 1 hr of weight training
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes6 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? YES. Walking (20m) and shifting boxes, files etc upstairs
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? YES
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES - even the beer I just tasted out of my hubby's glass.
Would like to get more "proper " exercise done but am having a massive clear out of the house so not much time for other things. At least it makes me work up a sweat and burn calories.
@RangerRickL thanks for your message and for your support. You're doing a great job with this group!

WOW! GREAT JOB EVERYONE! What a team we have here.....I too have the problem of turning to food when I am tired or stressed. Luckily I am VERY aware of it and understand when triggered, I am getting much better with dealing with it. I am not using my circumstances as an excuse to eat anymore........Thank you @RangerRickL for the means to be able to do that as I am VERY proud of my success and I want to only have to post POSITIVE posts......lol......... Everyone's positive attitude and the heartfelt encouragement is what makes this group right for me!
When I joined fitness pal I joined 4 groups as well, this is the only group I stayed with. I found this link on the group listing. Not to knock the other groups, they may still be going as well, this group just fit my needs right from the first check-in.
GO FELLOW UAC MEMBERS. WE ARE ROCKING THIS!9 -
Yes x 3.
@craigo3154 above and beyond. Well done.
My boss gave a presentation today that at one point said that in life people can be either radiators or drains. This group is full of radiators and I thank you all.
I joined the uac back in November on the recommendation of @MiamiSeoul . At that point, I too had joined few challenges but I immediately found I couldn't keep up. I didn't want to spend as long online on mfp as actually exercising! The ideas behind this group are the fundamentals. So anyway, I just tried to get a google image of radiators and drains and this quote came up which seemed apt.

July 3rd.
Exercised?: Yes.
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
On track with calories, logged everything, and within my set limit.
Went for my usual jog this morning, 35mins, 20 mins on my cross trainer and 10 mins on the vibrapowerslim, so 65mins total.
Also had to go into town so 20 mins walk there, get the shopping and 20mins back carrying bags and up hill coming back too, lol.
Also took the woofies a walk, but only did a hour and half today, but again it was quite hilly were we went, so the thigh muscles have had quite a work out today, lol.
As craigo3154 said earlier, I found the UAC through the challenges board after having a look around. I've only been here a short time, but you have all been very welcoming and I'm enjoying my stay here with you all.

July 3rd
day three is 3 yesses for me calories and tracking and exercise done
we went back to our first walk and took 2 minutes off our best time .. 22 minutes it takes now, if we shave any more off it we will have to add more distance to get in the 20 mins lol.
I also went shopping (no idea how long it was I didn't count the time) with my son who is starting his first job tomorrow, he will be doing a 4 week trail at the job centre, and if he does well it could become a full time employment, or they will find him another job somewhere else, win win really. shirts and suit trousers / shoes all brushed up and looking very handsome .. not that I am biased in any way6 -
July 3:
Exercise? Yes. 35 minutes of weight lifting at the gym this morning. Plus, a trip to the Museum of Modern Art, so about two hours of walking there, though it was slow paced and I didn't log it.
Plank? Yes.
Calories? Yes, about 500 under. I might need a snack later this evening because I don't want to go to sleep hungry, but I have a lot of breathing room.
Tracked? Yes. We went to a diner for a late breakfast, early lunch and I made sure to count every fry.
Tomorrow: Since it's a holiday, I might try to sneak in a longer run than I usually would on Tuesday, but it'll have to be slow after my 8-mile run on Sunday.7 -
Exercised?: Yes. did an hour weights session. I didn't go too heavy today as I feel quite fatigued and pre season fitness training starts tomorrow, I feel sick thinking about it!
Calories: 1456/1490kcl
Tracked: Yes6 -
@am_change - thanks for the graphic. I honestly think that is key to a life you love. Everyone faces challenges, only you determine how to respond.
@pribud - congrats on no longer eating your stress!!!
A long time ago, I was told something that I try to do. If I am stressed or upset and find myself reaching for food, I tell myself that I have a choice. I can eat it, but that means I am consciously deciding to and the consequences are on me. Or, I can choose not to. It is my decision. This little conversation usually helps me to decide not to.
On track today. Lifted weights at gym for an hour, did the StepMill for 45 min and the stationery bike for 25. I fully plan to stay in my calorie range and track the rest of this day!5 -
Today I was one of the early people. My coworker goes OMG look who I am working with its the queen of the holiday and I dressed all in black. Our boss laughed and teased her she should have checked the schedule. I warned her I am doing most of Dec.

Exercised?: 40 minute walk

Tracked?: Yes
So glad this group exists! I'm a former Weight Watchers member. I came over to myfitnesspal because I wanted to track calories instead of points. I also didn't want to have to go weigh-in somewhere every week. So I don't have access to their meetings or online support anymore, but this group will give me the community and mutual support I need! I think myfitnesspal rocks! PS: Thanks for the warm welcome Rick!6 -
3 yeses for July 3rd.
Took hubby and the baby to the city zoo for three fun-filled hours of leisurely walking and enjoyment. It's nice that whether you walk fast or slow, given enough time at it the calorie burn racks up...which definitely helps ensure the calorie intake goal stays within range.
It's another birthday for the U.S. tomorrow so everybody stateside be safe and have fun. Love to you all no matter where you live in this great big world! Keep up the great work hot shots!
How do you eat an elephant?...one bite at a time.4 -
July 3rd
Three yes'.
With my husband today at the hospital.
They give you a pager while your family member is in surgery so I got two 45 minute walks in. Plus up and down stairs all day. All went well and I didn't stress eat!! Hopefully now I can sleep tonight.
Have a family party tomorrow. I could see myself just letting go and eating but with UAC I am going to set a higher calorie goal and plan out my day. This means some foods I really enjoy but not mindless chip munching. Luckily I have no alcohol tolerance. My family calls me" the one beer wonder "7 -
July 3rd
Exercise: 30 min of power yoga and 38 min of walking the dog
Calories: Stayed under target
Tracked: Everything tracked
Doing reallly well so far. Honestly thinking about what I'm going to eat and what kind of exercise am I doing to generate extra calories and NOT use them all. Today I earned exercise calories but I stayed under my original set calorie goal.
30 day yoga challenge: 3 days done.
Also following a FODMAP diet for a month. So far so good.4 -
Oh and I found this challenge under the "challenges" board. It should be an official MFP challenge though.3
