prefer hacking out and really getting to know my horse.
I am a judge and horse show steward. this coming weekend I am travelling to
a horse show. You know what horse show food is like! so I am taking
extra care and taking my own snacks... (carrots, cucumber and salads) as
    well as packijng extra water.
you can never drink enough water right?

I take the summer off from heavy training. We worked on precision and also some leisure activities - trail riding, bareback hacks, and such. It's way too hot for intense training sessions and will be until October probably. Oh, and bonding. Lots of bonding. Hand grazing, grooming, braiding her mane so she doesn't get fungus...

And yes, I bring a cooler full of water and Powerade Zero to the barn!

    thanks @Mouse_Potato
I like bonding in the summer time as well.
Here we have horse flies/deer flies the size of hummingbirds and getting out with those suckers is a pain.
