My non-scale victory is my increasing cardio fitness by using jump ropes. I would never have imagined that I would enjoy adding different weights of jump rope to my normal workouts.
What's your NSV??4 -
My NSV is that I'm still here tracking and exercising for over 200 days. I haven't given up when things have been tough even if I have had a few bad days.
It has rained all day again here and a state of emergency has been declared in Christchurch for flooding. We're fine at the moment but still raining, it's supposed to stop overnight, I hope it does.
As it's been so wet outside I've got some cleaning done today including some windows, kitchen cupboards and the oven.
Exercise: cleaning and 30 minutes exercise bike
Tracking: good
Calories: just under even after the sticky date pudding and caramel sauce I promised my girls I'd make.7 -

Exercised?: Yes. Walked 12.4 Km in 106 mins (hills).
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
LONG walk today. 587m elevation gain. 8.5 min per km average. Felt good to get out. Wind was cold. Actually my biceps cramped (found that odd).
My walking seems to give me the most NSV's. Like today was my longest walk I've done to date and felt pretty good after it (after stretching out my arms ). Also comfortably fitting into clothes I have not fit into for 15+ years (and the need to take the belt in again).
Hope to post some progress photos in the next day or two (maybe even add a profile pic). Show the difference a 14kg weight loss has had.
@aeshippers. Hope the weather improves and that you find another good birthday present for hubby.
@bocasdelbadbob. Awesome photo and great work at those elevations. Makes me envious.
@RangerRickL. I walk with ear-buds (audiobooks and language lessons). Have not felt the need for anything greater as yet.

Non scale victory, ok, I think I can come up with one.
I don't know how to express how much this satisfies my ego.
I climb a mountain on my heavy mountain bike up a narrow blacktop road.
People in cars and jeeps pass me going to the top. They are generally going to the parking lot that is maybe a couple of hundred feet lower than the top. From the parking lot you have to hike maybe a quarter mile to get the last couple of hundred feet vertical to the top. Coming from sea level, the effect of altitude is readily apparent to even young people. Kids.
So at the top I overhear a snip of a conversation, "Dad, that guy is an old guy!"
Heh!
Scale victory --- I lost 6 pounds in 7 days on that jaunt. I am getting ready to postulate or hypothecate or some kind of scientific word that metabolism is different at high altitude.
@craigo3154, congrats on the 14kg. That sounds like 30 pounds to me and congrats on the 587m climb. That sounds like 2,000 feet to me. 2,000 feet in like 8 miles. Half up and half down unless it was uphill both ways that is 2000 feet in 4 miles.
That is a stiffer climb than I am doing.
(Cramps in biceps? Are you taking a Statin?)
Kids, heh! That is the only caption I need for this pic.

Exercised?: Yes

Tracked?: Yes.
Wow, NSV's - where to begin. Since I began my weight loss journey last summer, and up to today, there's quite a few on that list you posted up Rick that I can relate to.
Clothes are the more noticeable, having dropped 3 dress sizes in total so far. I'm now in a 10 UK as opposed to a size 16 that I used to be.
I have more strength, much fitter than I was, and the bonus is that people I know are noticing the difference.
Even my brother who called round last Sunday (haven't seen him since the New Year) commented on how much weight I have lost and how well I look. That alone is such a boost to my self-esteem, and other people have noticed and commented too.
Anyway...
Been on the go most of the day today. 5K run this morning (beat my PB by 5 mins, lol) then had to go into town (walked there and back with shopping) then took the dogs a walk - 70mins uneven terrain/hills.

NSV's
I ran 100 Meters, this might not sound like a big deal to, well, anyone, but for me this is a miracle, I can walk longer distances than most people and just keep going but running/jogging has always been a issue for me , tomorrow I am going to be attempting 200 Meters. fingers crossed I survive it.
Ive also just cycled (OK on a stat bike) 10 miles in one go .. I have pins and needles everywhere ... and I mean everywhere !!!
3 yesses for me today9 -
@bocasdelbadbob. Thanks for the comments.craigo3154 wrote: ».... Actually my biceps cramped (found that odd) ....bocasdelbadbob wrote: »... (Cramps in biceps? Are you taking a Statin?) ...
Not on any medication at all (At 49 and working a desk job, this is an NSV on it's own).
When you also consider my normal diet (both before and during weight management) is very light on fruits and vegetables (I see no point in being forced to eat food I find unpalatable if it is not causing issues). Most people find fruits and vegetables they like as their tastes mature, I just didn't (and not through lack of trying and variety either). I do take a supermarket purchased (non-prescription) daily vitamin supplement (berocca) to make up the difference.
I worked out arm cramps were a combination of 3 things:- Dehydration (must take water if doing over 8km)
- Overuse (arms were held in 90 degree posture for over an hour while walking).
- Low minerals (sodium (unlikely), potassium, calcium and/or magnesium)

Yes. Kids will be kids.
Great photo. The goats are well camouflaged against the rocks. Took me a moment to see them.

3 yeses today. Thumbs up!
An NSV of mine is how good I feel since loosing 10 lbs and finally starting this journey. My body simply feels better. I can literally feel it changing for the better with each healthy bite of food and pound lost. Loving this!4 -
23rd of July
Yes to all three; the exercise was walking.
NSV: I think just a general feeling of being able to keep on going. I have added some weight to some of my lifts and I can walk up stairs without getting winded. I can walk faster without feeling pain in my calves (some kind of tension) and I'm not as exhausted after a 10 km walk as I have been in the past. The biggest NSV has nothing to do with fitness or having lost size; it's just a general feeling of liking my body much more, and feeling like I'm on the right path and doing things for it that makes it stronger. Now when I put on my workout gear, even though I haven't lost size around my stomach (as far as I can tell), I like what I see.4 -
I love reading these NSVs! You are all an inspiration to me! I guess today mine would be that even though I have passed out of the Winner's Circle, I am still here.6

Pass Day #40
-
3 yeses today. 35 minutes of strength training and 10 minutes of jump rope.
My nsv today was wearing a more fitted tank top. I have been hiding behind looser tops since gaining weight. And even though I don't think I've lost any inches around my waist and my muffin top was out in all it's glory, I wasn't the least bit bothered by it because I feel strong and healthy.3 -
Pass #40

July 22nd yes x3
Exercise was walking, swimming and fun and games in the pool with my 2 children.
@Slimpossible007 Well done for running! I guess you can build up gradually from there. Great!
@trixsey1 very encouraging to hear about your NSVs! I'm currently somewhere between a 16 and 18 and am hoping to get down to a size 12 . Well done you and thanks for sharing!
@craigo3154 nice photo!
Today (23) is my birthday so I'm kind of planning ANOTHER pass day.
Back to serious exercise and healthier food (and drink ) choices after this holiday.
Hope you're all enjoying your weekend :-)2 -
@pribud glad you are feeling better today, hugs back to you.
@trixsey1 congratulations on the PB
@Slimpossible007 I understand completely where you are coming from with the running, congratulations on your 100m and starting out as that is the hardest part
@everyone it's awesome reading all your NSVs, as a group we have achieved some amazing things2 -
It was a great day yesterday ! Was very active and made healthy choices.
Exercise : 40 mins on stationary bike and 5 mile walk
Calories : Yes. Under by 600
Tracking : Yes
NSV
1) When I started in June I was barely able to fit into size 14 clothes. Most would be right at my waist or hip and I was so embarrassed to wear them. Now I have inches to spare !
2) Letting go and picking up from where I left has been a big NSV. This month I have 4 pass days but this group is so motivating that I am still on track. I usually sulk if I miss my morning walk but now I try to keep myself active throughout the day.
3) This week I completed 50 days of logging on MFP. It's probably a small number but I have never been able to do this for more than 10 days before. Hurray for me !

Pass #3. Had a long day out of the house, didn't get to plank. Did over an hour of walking and have gone through to log everything, but I ended up about 700 calories over.
I've already gone for a 7-mile run this morning, so in an ideal world, I'll be 700 calories under today. I've already had lunch and have 1901 calories to work with, so it can be done.1 -

I managed 200 today well 1/8th of a mile which is a touch over 200 meters, although I was out of breath I wasn't in as bad a state as I thought I would be in ... The next stage is 1/4 mile (which is the distance around my block) I'll build up to that thou .. run /walk and slowly make the walk part less and less
TY @shonat11 the plan is to build it up towards a 5km.
TY @aeshippers yeah getting to running and out of my comfort zone (walk only) was a struggle, I always feel silly when running .. I feel I look very awkward as I do struggle!
and well done @ everyone on your amazing NSV's not to mention the recent SV's as well2 -
July 22
Exercise: 35 min walk w/the dog and 60 min yoga
Calories: over by a glass of wine
Went to my best friends sons wedding reception. My food was in point but I had an extra glass of wine!! Yay!!
Taking my 3rd pass day
19 miles done last week.1 -
Saturday July 22. Raining hard so skipped the bike ride. 55 minutes of Zumba. Cleveland is 35 miles from us. Went downtown to the Indians game. Stadium food is way over priced and looks and smells better than it tastes. So I'm glad my husband wanted to eat out first. We always park with a 20 minute walk to the gate plus use the ramp instead of the escalator. Lots of walking. Stayed below calories and tracked.
@srufus congrats on 50 day streak.!!6 -
Complete pass day. Didn't even attempt to log. Although I did walk 15.5km around London.1
