This weekend, I'm with my family at a lakeside location. Our west coast kids are home with us. Enjoy your weekend.

Happy birthday @shonat11
Today was mostly sunny which made me feel much better.
Got out on my bike this afternoon for over an hour in between all the normal weekend chores. Tracking and calories both good although food choices weren't quite as healthy as normal.4 -
July 22
Exercised?: Yes. Walked 5 Km in 41 mins (hills).
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Just beat the rain today for my walk .
Unfortunately no progress photo's today. I've at least uploaded a profile pic (sorry it'a bit serious looking). Have taken the photos, but need to resize and crop to post. Spent the day learning a computer games engine (Defold) as my daughter wants to program a game. She has the plot, has done a lot of the artwork and music herself, just needs a simple games engine to put it together (and the online tutorials are woefully inadequate).
@shonat11. Happy birthday. Have a great day.
@PaisleyFlower. Stay with us. Only a week till next month starts.
@hawkins410. Glad you are still with us. Next month?
@trixsey1. Well done on the PB on the 5K (awesome).
@aeshippers. Awesome on 200 over 200 days. Pretty sure you are going to continue to do amazing.

Happy Birthday @shonat11. I hope you have a wonderful day celebrating with loved ones, and celebrating you!
Speaking of NSV's from yesterday....
Nice to read all the NSV's. That is what it is all about!!! When I was losing weight, I wrote down my NSV's at every 10 pounds and it is nice to review those sometimes. I pulled them out a while back and had forgotten that the soles of my feet used to hurt a lot. That hasn't been an issue in a long time. :-). I am very happy to fit into all of my clothes, and to feel fit and strong. Last week, while rock climbing, I overheard a mom pointing me out to her daughter saying, "Wow, look at her leg muscles. I want leg muscles like that." It is odd to have a stranger talk about you, but it did make me feel good.6 -
Yes x 3 but feeling a bit down. I'm finding weight loss a struggle. I'm thrilled for all your successes and proud of you as you all deserve it. But it's also showing me how slow my progress is. I know it's all personal and individual and I will get there. Just sharing how I feel.7

Exercised?: Yes
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Had a rest day today, no jog or strength training, but I did take the dogs for a 3 hour walk.
Over my daily calorie intake today as I ate back some calories from exercise, but still under the total count - but not by much.
It's been an odd day today and a tad stressful.
@shonat11 - Thank you for your kind words. It has been a battle and a lot of hard work but you can do it too. My starting weight last summer was 182 pounds (13 stone) and a size 16/18. My BMI was 33.6, my blood pressure was sky high, to the point I was on the borderline of having a stroke. Obesity and inactivity was also causing other health issues too.
My BMI is now 26.8, I'm out of the "obese" spectrum and now in the "overweight" category (10 stone 7 lbs / 147 pounds). I've hit the 140's - yeaaa!, lol.
My ideal BMI for my size (5' 2") is between 18 and 25 and another 2 stone loss (8 stone) will put me in the middle of the "healthy" category ((according to the information the GP has given me)) although I'll be happy to see 9 stone!
I took up jogging at first, a task that was not an easy one at first, I can tell you! I couldn't even jog for a minute at first, but I slowly built this up by jogging/walking, trying to go longer at a jog each time then resting for less.
Eventually this became easier until I could jog for several minutes and slowly moving on to a 3K jog without stopping.
I have recently completed my first 5K run and did another this week. I couldn't even have done that when I was young!
Determination has been my fuel, determined to get my butt in gear, health back on track, to lose weight and to feel good in my own skin again. If you want these thing too, then it will happen.
It will take time, and you have to stick with it but you WILL see those size 12 jeans!
I never thought I would ever get back in a size 12 but I am there now - you will be too.
Good luck sweetie, and Happy Birthday to you!
@aeshippers - Thank you sweetie.
@craigo3154 - Thank you! Great to see your profile pic - much better!
I always take water with me when I'm walking - granted I can't walk as fast as you do or cover as much ground in such a short amount of some, but I always take a bottle of water with me. My hands tend to shake if I get dehydrated.
I too don't eat a lot of fruit either, the only fruit I do like are bananas and pineapple. I too take a vitamin/mineral supplement daily from my local health/herbalist store.
@Slimpossible007 - Fantastic! Taking up jogging is not easy. Like you I can walk for miles and miles, but jogging was literally torture - you're doing brilliantly. I too felt silly at first and took me ages to take that plunge to jog in public view, lol, but your confidence will soon build up and you won't even think about it anymore.
Well done to you, I'm so proud of you! That 5K will be yours in no time!
@am_change - don't feel discouraged by other peoples successes.
Everyone is different, we all have total different lives and different circumstances, and not everyone can keep on track all the time. Don't feel down, stay positive and even IF your progress is slow, it IS progress all the same.
Keep with it, and like you said you WILL get there.
Stay with us, share your thoughts and we too are proud of you for being here - and don't be so hard on yourself. You only had your baby last year, and you were breast feeding too.
You have already achieved so many goals so far, you're doing brilliantly - just think positive about your goals and reflect back on your inspiration for starting your weight loss journey - for your daughter and those pair of jeans! You WILL get back in them!
((Sorry for the long post))...xx

Exercise today was walking.
Kcl: 1460/1460 (I like to get the most out of my allowance!)
Tracked4 -
ty @trixsey1 -- the 5KM will be a while off but I can deffos work towards it .. I've done 2 x 5KM before, but I walked them.
For me today is 3 yesses,
Again I thought about a pass day as I had done a jog and thought yes that will do for the day ... BUT it was only a 2 min jog and a 3 min walk to my starting point ... so it will not do .. I added on 15 mins of biking and a small ab workout purely out of guilt of trying to claim that a 2 min jog was enough.
shame on me!4 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Was out for majority of the day hitting up stores so got some basic cardio in from it and did 20minutes of yoga stretches.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes

Tracked?: Yes.5 -
July 23
Exercise: 7 mile trail run plus 35 min walk with the dog.
Calories: yup
Tracked: yup
Miles: 8.5
Lesson learned: NSV- I can attend an event and NOT anxiety eat. I can do it. I can I can. I have to engage with those around me, be in the moment so I don't think about food or anxiousness. I have to mindful, aware and focused!!7 -
July 23
Today is a pass. I didn't get any exercise in to speak of. However, I've tracked everything and come in under my calorie goal. I feel mostly good about it all.
Tomorrow is a new day, and I'm pretty excited as I'm starting a new weight training program found in "The New Rules of Lifting for Women". It's gonna be great, and I'm going to feel so much better while building strength. Work it!5 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes...120 minutes strength training.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes3 -
3 yesses. Cycled and walked.4

Having a rough time keeping internet.
Yes x 3
Brother leaves tomorrow can't wait I have consumed a lot of fudge bars in order to deal with him. I woke up to a text from my dad asking for cookies . Yes I went and bought him some.3 -

3 yesses for me today...no formal workout but was on the go all day...grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry and all my meal prep for lunches for the whole week. 8 more days...home stretch...we are all crushing it this month!!!2 -
No x3. Pass #2. Had a potluck lunch after church with friends that turned into an all afternoon visit followed by another invite to head to another friends place for supper. I chose to enjoy being fully engaged with friends rather than tracking and worrying about food. I thought I'd get in some exercise this evening but after 11 hours out of the house and then getting kids to bed, I'm exhausted! Not feeling bad about it, back on track tomorrow.2
-
Pass #3 yesterday and Pass #4 today. Lots of exercise but did not track everything!! Saturday and Sunday were 2 super big days; getting ready for company and a big pool day today celebrating my son-in-law's bday. Still part of the group but out of the winner's circle. Sheesh, it is hard to be in the winner's circle!!
Saturday was my weigh in day. Super pleased!! I am down 1.8 pounds which is now a total of 7.8 pounds. @am_change it has taken me since April to lose this amount of weight. It is a change in lifestyle not a diet. Hang in there. We can do this. I have 2.2 pounds left to go.2 -
Today's report was a return to normal:
Calories: below limit
Exercise: 45 minutes of walking and lifting
Tracking: ok
On the other hand, during July 21 and July 22,
I was on vacation in NW IL in the historic town of Galena, IL. Home of a number of Union Generals including Ulysses S. Grant, who also became a president of the United States.
Late Friday evening, that area received 8-10 inches of rain. Roadways were destroyed and some bridges collapsed. While it was an adventure, I did not track; did not keep my calories under my limit. So, 2 pass days. That puts me at 3 pass days for this month.
No margin for error, but I'm home and back on the wagon.6 -
Happy Birthday@shonat112

Yes x 3. Stepper x 60 min.4

Yes x 3
Always just under the wire on calories, did squats, bench, barbell rows, walked dog, cleaned house.
@am_change, I personally think slow change is a good thing. I know when I change too fast, I frequently suffer a rebound and get worse. I think your continuing to show up here daily is a huge accomplishment.5 -
Ugh, I am still basking in the memories of my weird trip to the Mountain.
I gotta get off the couch instead.
I am down a few pounds but that is because my exercise binge ran way out in front of the cals I ate. So sometimes I can carry exercise forward for a day or so. I am past that now though.
Tracked calories and budgeted for sedentary so I am good for those two.
But memories of exercising ewww ...
This picture is at the very top. Right at that left shoulder you can see a ridge that runs to the right and center background. There is hikers that will hike along that ridge. The trail goes back to the same trailhead I started at or alternatively to a trailhead that is even lower. You are in big trouble if there is lightning though. I know that much. There ain't no running for treeline from there.
Heh, I talked to a guy that was on his way out from there. He said he hiked that at night in a mist or a fog. I know exactly the night he was talking about. It rained up until about 10p. He said he started then. When I seen him it was maybe like 9a next day. So he spent like 11 hours on his night hike adventure. I think he must have had a headlamp and presumably a flashlight for spare. I never asked him about that. But just think what it would be like if your battery went dead.

@shonat11: Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you had a great one!
@bocasdelbadbob: Beautiful picture! I used to do a lot of backpacking in the High Sierras of California. Where is "your" mountain?
@craigo3154: Yes, I'm definitely in for August! I think this is a wonderful challenge!
@120maggie: Love the NSV of a small t-shirt at the Indian game! I'm glad the weather cleared for you.
@Dosse1320: I agree, reaching the Winner's Circle is much more difficult than I originally thought. But I'm learning!
Kudos to everyone!!1 -
@trixsey1 @Dosse1320 @Sandera2 thank you so much for the wise words, kind words and encouragement. It means a lot.1
