            Good Morning!
So very glad that today is Friday!
Connie and I are spending tomorrow and Sunday in training for MADD. The cool thing is that it is about 10 minutes from the house, so I'll also be able to sneak back home to take care of the dog, since I have a son who is working now! The other cool thing is that this is at a local hotel, and we'll go ahead and spend the night there tomorrow. It is close to home, but still provides a nice little break from the routine, and a get-away.
Next week is month end, again. Where is the summer going! I have not started on "my" projects yet, and still have a little to do to finish the kitchen project.
Have a great day!1 -
            Morning Gang~
Off to see Ortho Doc with more test results in hand....this won't be a pleasant discussion. I expect I'll get another round of shots while here that will mask the pain for a day or two.... Looks like we're in for soaking rains, so likely won't see Nat's game tonight, so Dennis is off the hook. He's knee deep keeping the Boys from the Girls....
Steve - how are you and Connie? Does DS move out this weekend?
Raine - how's Tom's recovery?
Lou - any prospects in the works? We've thrown you a lot of softballs recently, and no smart quips! I'm disappointed.
Have a great weekend, gang!

            Tis Frydee! Frydee! Frydee!
TGIF, Tis Frydee!
Good Morning,
More HEAT and HUMIDITY today with thunder showers, but the news media promises a dryer and cooler weekend, hopefully falling into low 90's. Just for Dennis's homecoming.
Would like a quiet weekend but might not happen.
Now a brewery visit and tour would be fun, enjoy Kelly. We have 2 fairly new one near us, maybe when DD comes out we'll visit them.
Between rabbits, birds and squirrels I do not have any ripening tomatoes. Small yellow worms eating into every squash, and deer keep eating beans. If it didn't occupy DMIL so I'll plow it under and plant shrubs. But it does keep DMIL downstairs and in yard some and out of DW's hair.
Sister-in-law is suppose to come Saturday, this is DW's sister who has not seen her mother since January and only then because we took DMIL up near DSIL's house; she has been within 2 miles of house several times this summer and would not stop to see her mom or sister. I reckon I better leave house so I'll keep my mouth shut.
Enjoy the Day,
Sam I am1 -
Good morning BBB Friends. Graduation tonight and an early flight tomorrow.1

            Good Morning BBB.
Supposed to be beautiful weather here for the next few days - nice. Jack is on the treadmill and Tom is resting after a tough night and having to take pain meds. I hope he has a better day today.
Bill - let's hope the doc comes up with a plan to give you some long term relief.
Dennis - enjoy graduation and have an easy flight home.
Lou - good luck
Sam - you can't pick your family - people like that suck.
Steve - have fun at the hotel - your projects can wait.
Lee - what is on tap for you?
Lisa - are you going to have time to relax today?
Dave - great pic - where exactly were you hiking?
Do good out there everyone0 -
            Mornin' BBB.
Up and out early yesterday to do some tractor work with Geoff (Babe's trainer) at hunt club, then drove an hour to train Babe with Billy the Greek (field trial guru) for about 4 hours, then drove back to club to finish tractor work, then home to cook dinner for DW after her long day at work. I'm too old for this *kitten* on my days off.
Just came in from our garden. First hiked the pups, then watered and harvested. Curly kale, cucumbers, and cherry tomatoes are giving us huge salads every night. Getting heirloom eggplants of several varieties. Yellow squash is out producing the zucchini this year (usually the other way around). Just picked half dozen jalapenos. Big tomatoes and sweet bell peppers soon.
Sam, Bonide products work well for me keeping pests off my plants. Hand held spray bottles and can get concentrate to mix and refill.
Dave that is a well worn trail in the background. Great shot of the mountain. You look happy.
Skip, sure hope you and docs can work this out. Has anyone talked about removing the implanted hardware?
Raine, how'd Tom feel after going to work yesterday?
Lisa, wish I had some hair to blow dry.

            Good morning BBB.
Grandkids were dropped off yesterday and we'll have them until tomorrow afternoon.THeir parents are attending a craft beer fest in Portland. We get to take DGD to her second T-Ball game. She is the youngest (turns 4 in two weeks) and smallest player on the team - really cute.
That photo was taken at Indian Henry's Hunting Ground, an area of meadows and small ponds on the southwest side of Mount Rainier. It was a sweaty, 3,500 foot climb, over 5.7 miles to get there, but well worth the effort.0 -
Lee - that wounds like an awesome day! I talked Tom into staying home yesterday and resting. It's hard for him but he did it. He still put in over 3000 steps - nothing like his normal 15,000 plus but good for the day after surgery.
Dave - enjoy the grandkids. I thought I recognized that vista - I lived in the Pacific NW for a couple years and loved the outdoor opportunities.0 -
            Love the PNW, Dave! #jealous!
Doc appt went well. Progress. He will fuse the L5/S1 upon concurrence from second surgeon (whom I meet next Friday). Ugh - waiting is not my strong suit!!
A round (10) of shots today provides some relief.
Is it 5p yet? Raining like cats/dogs here!0 -
            Morning BBB
Working from home today then taking my former assistant to lunch. This is her last day woth the transition team. She was with gordmans for 15 years so not a great day.
Yesterday my former boss who has terminal lung cancer got a wish granted from her super crush Rob Lowe. In honor I binged watched the West Wing last night. I think I am going to imagine this is the real white house. No tweating in 1999.

We like Raine says are about to get beautiful weather here for the next few days !! mid to upper 70's with NO rain. Which means I had to water everything early evening yesterday while being attached literally by mosquitoes .
Lee I recall you planting your bales, and I had my stuff in for 3 weeks or more sooner. I also this morning only picked 5 cherry tomatos, and 3 last week. I have green tomato's everywhere and small peppers starting, nothing near to picking though. hmmmm.
Raine, good Tom is resting. For me, I have to sleep and rest the first 24-36 hours after any surgery, and be on the pain meds for my own happiness, even with dental surgery. Thereafter that, I'm like a new person. No pain, no meds and pretty good to go. I think our bodies really need still rest the first day after any trauma to the body, just imo and what has worked for me. Send him our well wishes!
Skip, sorry you are going thru all this back pain and stuff again. They'll get you fixed up, stay on them, like you are!
Brewers have lost some fire, & going to be hosting the Cubs here this weekend, who now have caught the fire! Should be a good series!
We are going to check out our local "county" fair maybe Saturday? I want to visit the county's Master Gardeners booth, I'm considering taking their level 1 class this winter, etc. Feeling I want to get more involved in the new county we live in, etc. Its so nice to be out of the crime ridden big city, have I mentioned that !!!!
T G I F - Im out at 3pm0 -
Steve: isn't that music to your ears! "since I have a son who is working now"!! woohoo
Has his mood at home brightened a bit yet? If not, he'll come around!0 -
            Good morning.
Skip, I know y'all have lobbed several easy ones my way, but I've generally been getting here long after they've crossed the plate.
Things are quiet on the search front. Took a personality test on Monday and haven't heard a peep from them since. I hope they didn't score that part about drinking the blood of annoying coworkers too heavily. It did say to be honest..0 -
Nice Lou. Yeah the PacNW is nice. Hi in the 70s yesterday and gorgeous for walking and biking. Suppose to be over 100deg next Wednesday in Portland OR area though (YIKES). Where did that come from. We aren't close to being summer heat adjusted like some folks. Glad Tom is feeling better Raine. Yeah tomatoes are always later here in our short season. Have been picking Sungolds (gold cherry), and red cherry tomatoes and a few of our early season small Stupice tomatoes (taste like big tomatoes). Did pick some purple colored green beans yesterday for first time. Served them french fillet bean style and were they unbelievable.
•Mary you should enjoy the master gardener classes. I did that and served the county for a few years.0 -
            Good afternoon
Lots going on this board today.
Gorgeous weather here today too !!0 -
            Good Afternoon!
Garden update: I picked three medium size tomatoes last night (four total for the season so far), and 5 cherry tomatoes (10ish total for the season). We should be getting more now, but it seems very slow this year, and we were late to plant.
Beautiful weather this afternoon in Kansas City. I'm stuck in the office until 4:00 due to payday, and the fact that my assistant is out, and my boss is out. I did something wrong there!
Update on DS & work. Connie called me about 10:00 this morning. Collin was marching out of the house, determined that he was going to resign from work today. It was just too much stress, and he is fighting depression, and 16 other excuses. He made it three days. Even last night, he was not complaining about work. Now, we have to decide how serious we are about kicking him out of the house, and just what our next step will be. With the MADD training this weekend, it could get wild. It is so hard. Muddied by a bunch of things, not the least of which is when you've had one son killed, you don't relish kicking the remaining one to the curb, as it were. Sigh...0 -
Steve - we are here for you - tough decisions.0
 -
Mary - enjoy our beautiful weather - GO CUBS!!0
 -
Steve - we stand with you (and Connie). Stay strong!0
 -
Steve. Praying God gives you wisdom.0
