Exercised?: Yes. Walked 5 Km in 39 mins (hills).
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Quickest time on this particular walk to date. Cadence (step pace) seems to be improving, but still more room to do better (not as fluid as I'd like).
Also 2 chin-ups on the door frame (from stationary). Can usually only get one.
Not much else to report today.
@Slimpossible007. Not long ago you broke into onederland. Sub 14 stone will not be too far away. Just keep doing what you are doing.
Now for the UAC over achievers club. I can barely keep up.
@Dosse1320. 17K steps is amazing. Walking with a friend would have been great too. Well done.
@fightingthetideofaging. 3 hour brisk walk. I know how I feel after 100 mins, you must be a machine. Simply awesome.
@SimonsChange. 6 miles. You are definitely on track for 140 miles this month.
@marthall. 105 minutes walking. Well done.
@pears734. 6 hours hiking. Wow.7 -
August 10th
Exercised?: Yes
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Workout:
35min jog this morning. Was a little faster than usual and I haven't had a run in a few days, so felt good to be out and the temperature was just right too.
40min strength workout rotating between 3kg and 4kg weights. The 3kg weights are getting easy on some of the workouts now, so I've upped the weight on some of the sets.
Walking/cycling:-
Another bike ride this morning 23km down the bike trails. Those hills are torture, lol.
Walk with the woofies, just 6km today, as I was a bit fatigued from earlier and due to my muscles being so achy!
Today is usually my rest day, and the day I go visit a friend, but she had to cancel as she's unwell, so I decided to use the time other wise spent round at hers, exercising.
Booking myself in a rest day tomorrow instead - I need one, lol!
Total steps walked today: 14,308
Total calories burned: 2171
Total calories consumed: 1330 / 1320 - extra 10 from exercise added to my evening meal, lots of protein today - fish, chicken and veggies for my meals along with a protein shake after the workout this morning, before the bike ride.7 -
I wonder which UACer is which in @RangerRickL s picture.
@trixsey1 oh my goodness I'm just exhausted from reading about your day - it's enough to make me need a rest day too!
Yes x 3 for me today.
I'll read all of your inspirational, inspiring, awesome and woo posts later and respond accordingly! Keep up the great work everyone!
PS I'm getting close to a PB in the longest I've been before taking a pass! Yay!6 -
@trixsey1 wow .. amazing run, I jog for 3 mins and I think I'm dying .. a big well done to you
@conchita962 well done making good choices, its really difficult during celebratory times, I hope you had fun at your friends 50th
@jesscutedol great job squeezing a walk in even if your shoes weren't quite right
@Sandera2 well done pulling that day back into line, next time punch your boss .. way less stress
@cardio_enthusiast wow on the ankle weights ... what a great way to burn a little extra when at work
@craigo3154 I broke through the 14 stone mark today .. although I think my weight will likely fluctuate back up a bit, but I know its on the way
to everyone else keep up the hard work you are all doing amazing!! ESPECIALLY everyone battling health issues!!
WELL ....... 1/3 of the way through the month I thought Id have a look and see how I am doing with my aims
My aims for August
-- lose 4 lbs -- already lost this much, but as weight always does it will up n down but hopefully stick here
-- lose 3 inches across the 5 measurements I take -- Ill measure at the end, I've no idea at the moment
-- walk / bike 300 miles -- 111.2 miles so far .. very pleased with this
-- be in the winners circle -- only one pass so far so I'm in with a shout
-- motivate others in their goals -- so busy at the moment but I'm trying here, I will improve
-- eat no higher than 2000 in any day but to avg over each week /month between 1550 - 1650 --
I've not gone over 2000 BUT they are currently averaging at 1351, this was due to 3 days of pre logging and sticking to what I logged, I overestimated what I would be eating when I added it to the diary and by the time I had reduced to portion sizes to exactly what I had put in my mouth the calories dropped drastically ... on the plus side I have extra calories now which I have to eat to get my calories up to where they should be
Finally today and another 3 yesses
I tracked and stayed in my calories (but I do have extra due to my average dropping)
I done 50 mins of strength, core and other muscle groups like squats. planks, push ups etc I also cycled 10 mines today

Exercise: yes, I did 90 minutes of cycling a lot of hills. Afterwards, I did 15 minutes of jumping jacks, deadlifts, step ups, and skipping rope. I also did a lot of walking--because I went to Costco...and when in Costco, one MUST browse all the aisles:-)

Yes x3
28min walk and 15min Yoga (It was a struggle to get going on the Yoga but it got done). Ate more today, mix of food in the fridge that I had specifically requested and needed using up and just generally feeling hungry. Still 1854/2293 net -439 which is ok, but I'm trying to average -500 Cal per day and I'm a little behind that.
Also found an error in my logging, I've been underestimating one item by about 50 Cal's. Fixed now and I have had sufficient margin in previous days not to impact my 'pass rate'
@craigo3154 I also managed 2 chin ups today */Feeling Proud/* = although technically this update is for yesterday... because I'm updating the day after the day we are in. So I only manage 2 chin ups tomorrow... Confused yet?
@bocasdelbadbob Love the picture of the gym... Wish I could be in the great outdoors rather than working... boo.4 -
Haven't signed in for the last three days...*whoops*
8th August: PASS
9th August: Yes X 3!
10th August: Yes X 3!
We're 1/3 of the way through this month already! Anyone have any NSV or weight loss to share since the start of the challenge?
Best of luck all3 -
I lost 1.6 lbs the first week of the challenge which is my start of this journey. This isn't much which usually discourages me but I feel more determined and morivated this time. Hopefully with the encouragement of nice people like you will be able to meet my goal of 25 lbs by the end of the year.
Thanks @pribud for the encouragement. It means a lot to me5 -
@windowqueen2003 Your loss of 1.6 pounds is great. This is a lifestyle not a diet(I am 60 and finally truly get it). ☺️4
-
@windowqueen2003 Wow!! Seven years since your kidney transplant is no small accomplishment. A good reminder for organ donations.3
-
@windowqueen2003, I'd be thrilled to pull off 1.6 lbs in a week! In my opinion, and many others, slow loss is easier to maintain, and healthier for you body. You'll get to where you're headed. Congratulations.4
