David, I'm with you on the current events stuff. I have no interest in what the world calls "news". I live in a little bubble, and it's a happy bubble. It's not that I'm not connected, because I am VERY connected to hundreds of lives on a personal level. I'm just not as interested in what I can't control anyway, when there is so much positive that I can do on a more intimate level in my world. So I focus there.

Lee, when you and Raine talk about "dog training", I am so clueless as to what that logistically looks like. I'm so glad there are people with your skills in this world to make up for people like me!

I'm meeting with friends for a bit this morning, then we're going to help a friend of Jim's with his kids' b-day party. He has 4 kids, and 2 of them are special needs. He's pretty overwhelmed most of the time, and very isolated. Dd17 is going, too ... she's helped babysit these kids, and she adores them. Should be a busy day!

We went out for our usual date night last night, and it was a bust. We sat outdoors at one of my favorite restaurants, it was too windy, cold, and my meal was not yummy. Ah well. At least I had my Dh ... that's what matters most.

Picked up the grandkids yesterday afternoon and had them overnight. So much fun just watching them play in the dirt. Love the nightly tuck in and story ritual, too.

My wonderful daughter-in-law, however, keeps dressing my 19-month old grandson in his sister's old clothes. Yesterday, he had on some striped tights. He looked like a cross dresser, or an 80s heavy metal rocker, minus the big hair. I appreciate frugality, but gee ...

• If I remember correctly Charleston refers to the Revolutionary War area of the city as Old Town and the Civil War area of the city as New Town. Or something like that.
• David, Grandpa may have to buy the boy some 'manly' clothes.
• I should have asked Steph for phone advise. Few people really know both ecosystems. I am happy with my Galaxy S8. I think the Apple closed ecosystem would have driven me nuts.
