The UAC is designed to provide an accountability forum to achieve great healthy life habits of tracking our intake of food/beverage; intentional daily exercise of at least 20 minutes; daily consumption of calories below your chosen daily limit; and reporting in no less than once every 3 days (preferably on a daily basis).
As @pribud stated last night, 'our group has gotten smaller, I hope everyone rejoins in September."
Now, it's your turn to report in.
Please either include in your daily post or send me a private message at @RangerRickL and let me know if you have and expect to qualify for the August 2017 Winner's Circle. To qualify, you will have completed all of the expectations noted above and had no more than 3 Pass Days during August.
Ok, qualifiers....Raise your hands!!
Thanks, Rick

Exercised?: Yes. Walked 5 Km in 38 mins (hills).
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Early morning walk (before breakfast). Brisk. Still maintained pace.
Good to get walk in early as busy work day.
Zero pass days so far this month. So made circle as even if I pass (or even pass out) for the remaining 3 days.
One thing I have also noticed is that there is the large drop off by the end of the month. A lot of people that can no longer make monthly circle, then tend to fade into the background or defer till next month. As a suggestion, how about a weekly silver circle (one pass day permitted - starts first day of month (ie. 1st - 7th, 8th - 14th, 15th - 21st, 22nd - 28th, free days for the remaining days), then a monthly gold circle for making all silver circles in the month, OR less than 4 pass days in total. This way there are short term goals that reset regularly.
This way you can forgive a bad week and start over quicker.
Also gives an incentive to get back on the horse quicker (one bad day does not ruin a good week - or a month).
The goal of UAC is build good habits. And the way to build good habits is repetition.
Just a suggestion.
P.S. I will enjoy the bunny some day in the next 3

No workouts today, just a steady walk with the dogs this morning while it was still nice and cool, then went for a walk with my son. Took a packed lunch and watched the ducks and gulls on the lake while we had our dinner.
Scorching here today 25°c - much too hot for the woofies.

@RangerrickL - Hi Rick. 0 pass days for all of August, everything tracked/logged and calories within daily limit, so made the circle this month. Can't believe September starts next week.
@craigo3154 - like those ideas Craig. Enjoy the bunny!
Love and hugs to everyone.........xx5 -
Yes x 3 today. 2 delicious glasses of red wine logged. Swam in the sea and walked along the sea front. Got a little 8€ dinghy for my 1 year old and pulled her along with me in the sea. She loved it and didn't want to get out!
Love the weekly silver circle idea too @craigo3154 and I'm relieved to hear you're finally going to have the bunny...maybe you're human too after all!
Agh. Rick I'm so close but it's too soon to call for me yet. I have 2 passes remaining and there are 3 days to go . I'm on holiday /vacation and the temptations are everywhere!!!6 -

This has been a great month. Was able to meet the group challenge!!! Also met some personal ones too. I will be adding more next month to challenge myself more plus already signed up for August group challenge. I felt like I could meet the calorie challenge and the tracking challenge but was unsure about the 20 min each day exercise but low and behold I made it! At times when it was close to bedtime long tiring day and I didn't have my exercise in for the day it was "just get your backside up and just do it".
@RangerRickL Made it with just one pass day. Since it's it's only 3 days left I think I got this.. Looking forward to next month with our fearless leader. Just can't thank you enough!6 -
Ok, now I remember @craigo3154 Lindt chocolate bunny...go for it big boy!!!
I had a pre-life-insurance purchase physical exam at 5:45 a.m. this morning. Boy is my blood pressure low before I hit the law office!! Of course, I had to answer 'yes' to some of the not so nice health history items, but it sure made me feel grateful to how many ugly disease conditions that I could answer "no'. Be grateful!!

So far in the winner's circle, but I've had three pass days, so I can't be positive about it yet.
Yes x 3 today.5 -
Yes x3. Spent 3 hours swapping bedrooms between my 2 youngest... the littlest is ready to share a room with her big sister so time to switch her girly bedroom into a more boyish decor for my son. Painting, cleaning, moving furniture... on such a hot humid day! But it felt good to get it done. Also did a 20 minute kickboxing cardio video this evening.
3 pass days this month... hopefully no more!5 -
I'm so far out of the winner's circle...It was a bit of a crazy month. September will be better. Kids back in school...YAY!!
I don't think it was a bad month...weights on track...foods on track...I just need to get more consistant.4 -
yes x3
50 mins strength training and then a lot of gardening (digging, clearing, moving). I was so tired at one point I had to have 4 wine gums to see if my sugar levels were too low. Overall today was a wake up call to how sedentary my life has been in recent years and how out of shape I am. I shall gradually do something about this (if only I didn't have to sit at a desk working all day!). I ate back more of the exercise calories than I should have, but overall a good result.
@jesscutedol keep it up, you are doing well.
@am_change I've been pondering your question on UK prairies from a few days ago. Whilst meadow does seem to be equivalent in description there is not only the difference in scale (any meadows we have untouched are small) they probably still exist either in flood plains or on rolling hills, and would more naturally be woodland. prairies are I believe generally considered flatter and without trees (these things being relative I suppose).
@RangerrickL I'm on 3 pass days so far, but feel pretty confident I can complete the rest of the month without any more and thus make the circle. I'll message you if this changes.
@craigo3154 interesting idea about a weekly goal, a target does help even if success is more complicated that winners circle or not and anything that encourages people to stay and keep involved is a good thing. Over complication is a potential issue, but if you emphasise the daily check in to new joiners I'm sure they would pick it up quickly enough.3 -
Yes x 3 - P90X2 V Sculpt workout.
So far 3 passes, but did fail to report on progress here for a number of days. Now catching up again. Love @craigo3154 's suggestion for the silver circle.2 -

But I am not really in the winners circle. Every month I resolve to be more diligent on tracking.
But I think it is the tracking diligence that is my weakness rather than excessive eating or drinking because I am not gaining. Not gaining is the name of the game for me because I am all about maintaining. Well, sometimes not exercising is my other weakness but I tend to lower my eating so that is ok. I think I am settling into good habit equilibrium.
Not gaining, well actually my wife and I had an August goal of losing five pounds each. We are going to go to an antique hotel as a reward if we pull it off. She has her goal and I am a pound shy of it. So I got two days to get a pound. I think I got it but it is just the case of weighing in at the right "empty" weight.
I spent a couple of days at the Colorado trail. I love that. It ain't all that much climbing but it is all at high altitude. I spend all of that time between 10,000 and 10,500. I love it there but my imagination of my ability kind of exceeds my reality. I guess that is an ok place to be.
I keep thinking I could do a forty miler. That don't pan out.
Defeated by sweat. How can that be? I am in the middle of nowhere. Nobody can smell me. Sweat should be no problem. But it all goes wrong if that sweat is in your pants. Ugh, it is a big problem because it causes your saddle to become really uncomfortable. Hey, stop me if I get too much detail. But I wear this spandex pants like you see bike riders wearing. I like it because it has padding in it that my bicycle saddle is way lacking.
Problem with them spandex pants is that there ain't no pockets. So I put on cotton cargo pants to get pockets for my phone and camera. Big mistake, that is too many layers for exertion at like 80 degrees.
So now the object is to remember all of this before my next excursion. No cargo pants.
Long winded post ...
I still got to talk about sleeping in the dirt like either a hobo or a cowboy. Let's say cowboy.
My wife won't do this so this is my excursion for after schools season starts. I camp where there ain't no nothing but a flat spot and it ain't even really got to be all that flat.
My concession to luxury, I have an air mattress. When I get really, really feral I don't even put up a tent. I put my sleeping bag on top of that air mattress. I got a plastic tarp folded up kind of over my feet if I hear that pitter patter of raindrops.
Ahh, beauty, the most beauty thing I can think of is waking up in the middle of the night, opening my eyes and looking up ... stars.
Hey, all of that is worth a mosquito bite or two if you ask me. Then again some people say I got mental problems.
I better put a picture of my bike on here ...

I do not expect to be in the winners circle for August but want to tell you how much I am enjoying the UAC. It has been harder than I thought, I obviously do not stay within my calorie budget as much as I thought I do!
I've signed up for September, between trips and visitors it will be another tough one. Fortune favours the brave, eh?! ha ha ha

@bocasdelbadbob lovely place to take a bike. I love the outdoors camping as well. I do some, and would love to do more. Currently experimenting with a sleeping hammock.2
