As martial artists who are also members of a WL and fitness website, it can be helpful for us to remain accountable to each other, and share training ideas.

Any time you participate in class, or practice out side of class, post here and let everyone know. You can write something as simple as "Went to sparring class... got my licks in", or get into as much detail on the practice as you'd like.

I had a lot of work deadlines today and am working late tonight, but I managed to squeeze in 20 minutes of just reviewing a few things that I needed to improve on my forms before driving to class. Tonight's class was supposed to be an hour but went over 35 minutes. It was just me and 2 other adults but they learn bagua and tai chi. Because we're learning 3 different things, it's almost like getting a private session. Each class starts the same - dynamic stretches and conditioning warmups, stretching splits and bridges, wall kick warmups, basic kicks, jumping and jump kicks and then we start breaking up forms into tiny sections to be repeated and refined over and over. Each person gets a turn one on one with the coach while everyone else practices. My legs feel like jelly.

45 min class - a little running and stretching, but mostly easy going self-defense, I had to work with a 14 year old who didn't want to actually do any take downs - that was kind of crappy, but at least I got to work on my pre-takedown form LOL.

I am hotel bound right now while my house is being treated for termites, so my workout was in the hotel Gym.... figured focusing on conditioning for a few days won't be a bad thing.

30 min interval running on treadmill, some weight work (they have a nice set of dumbells up to 50 lb!). then slow kick/balance drills for 15 minutes.

LOL. What that young person fails to realize is TDs and TD defense is part of the basics one should really have a grasp on in a sport or self-defense situation.
