A little early posting this evening, but my evening meal is already logged (and it's cooking now), and a light snack for supper as I needed to get my calories intake up a little more, so I'll have healthy snack while I'm doing my cross stitch tonight (it's my way of unwinding as I'm not one for the TV).
Soooo, a 6am rise. Started my morning with a 30min jog on the treadmill. Totally hissing it down this morning with heavy winds, not good running/biking weather at all.
Another 30mins on the elliptical, a walk into town (30mins), then another walk with the dogs (100mins).
Weather calmed down a lot by the time I got out with the dogs, some rain, but it didn't come down heavy. Very muddy though!
Total distance: 17km (10.8 miles)
Total steps walked: 25,040
Total calories burned: 1178
Total calories consumed: 1194

Monday! Happy Monday!
My intrepid little Buddy did what today!
He took some unsupported steps!
Heh! Guys that know me know that I been working for that for a while.8 -
@2020pinktogo- Glad you dropped in!! I miss you and it will be great to have you back next month!!
Pass Day#1- I had my 6 month doctor check-up this morning. He said I'm a really boring patient, and laughed ( I've been going to him over 20 years! ), that's his way of saying blood work, blood pressure, weight, blah, blah, blah, was all A-OK!! So...I made a conscious decision to ( gasp! ), be a rebel today and eat what I pleased, and be a slug all day. Let's see, I had jelly beans, caramels, potato chips, oink-oink!! Just one day, though, tomorrow it's back to what feels normal to me....exercise, tracking, discipline!!6 -

@fightingthetideofaging great report. Love your response! Glad it will be just a one day event.
@trixsey1 you are inspirational going out in all conditions.
Early predawn walk with lots of stars. Short walk at lunch too. My knees needed a break from Zumba and cycling.
About 10 minutes of upper-body strength training. Tracked on target with calories.3 -
@fightingthetideofaging, Wow, first time I've seen you pass. Enjoy your day!
@120maggie, the predawn walk under the stars sounds lovely.
@everyoneelse, hope you're all well. It seems awfully quiet.
Yes x 3 for me.
Running around for work, then walking the dog.3 -

Nearly forgot to check in tonite. 3 yesses. 25 minutes of running and 25 of walking. Hazy day as some smoke rolled in from forest fires, not the best conditions for being outdoors but our nice weather won't last much longer so need to take advantage of these beautiful evenings to be out with the family. My first attempt at attaching a picture.. here goes. My three littles in the sunset.

45mins strength training. The weights have now increased to levels that are stressing my muscles, I can feel some soreness and notice that they need recovery when I'm doing something else like Yoga or cycling. I'm using the strengh level website to track progress and after years of yoyo dieting and no strength training I'm not surprised to find myself in the bottom 1% of lifters at the moment but I'm excited to see what the process will bring.
30 minute brisk lunchtime walk, plus bonus 60 minute slow evening walk in the rain with family
20 minutes of yoga
Just short of 10K steps for the day, which is pretty good for me on a work day.
@loopydo2017 nice sunset5 -

@marthall - great job with the strength training.
It's best to use weights that stress your muscles. You can always drop down during the workout if need be, but try to go has heavy as you can without burning yourself out.
I don't have much strength on my upper body at all. I too am in the lower percentage of female lifters (9%). I'm using 4kg dumbbells, although on some moves I can go higher (5kg to 6kg) and then drop back to 3kg on others - depends on which muscles are being worked at the time.
I'd advise to get different weights and work to your own ability - alternating between them as you need to, but not high enough that you burn out before the end of your workout.
Good luck...x
@120maggie - thanks hun. It's winter time that will affect me most as I hate the cold. I only hope we have a mild winter here...x3 -
Took a pontoon boat out on Lake Mead today. The visitors, the dogs, hubby and I. It is my favourite thing to do, we always go on a Monday so there are hardly any other people on there. Also took the dogs on a 3 mile walk before we went.
I had 3 yesses today. It feels great to be home and back in my usual routine and surroundings.

Weighed in this morning. Unfortunately the scales went the wrong way. Trying to analyze why. This is usually the point I throw my hands up and say why bother.... It is psychological I know.
Will work through it and stay on track. Wil not let this glitch derail me!!!

@fightingthetideofaging Great. sounds like you are on the right track health wise. Looks like you are doing just as your name says "fighting the tide of aging"
@loopydo2017 Sunsets always inspire me. Good job on the pic. Exercising outside is the best.
@marthall good job on your weight training. Wish I could get motivated to do likewise.
@LoraineGB Boat rides especially on a pontoon are the best. Seems it just relaxes you and takes all your cares away.2 -
@windowqueen2003 Don't throw in the towel!! We will be here with you.
@loopydo2017 Great photo. Thanks, Rick0
