As martial artists who are also members of a WL and fitness website, it can be helpful for us to remain accountable to each other, and share training ideas.

Any time you participate in class, or practice out side of class, post here and let everyone know. You can write something as simple as "Went to sparring class... got my licks in", or get into as much detail on the practice as you'd like.

This post gets rebuilt every week, to remind us to approach each practice/training/class with a fresh perspective:

- It doesn't matter how hard you worked yesterday... what matters is what you do today.

I ran through some katas this morning. Not sure if that counts because I was trying to work around my dog the whole time. The garden is the only space big enough (and not covered in camouflaged lego) but my dog got terribly excited by my katas! I ended up only managing three

@Versicolour I had the same problem when I started training at home... Keep going - they get bored soon enough! (and then mine want to snuggle during post workout stretching)

Haha! I can just imagine. I have a collie x chow and that purple tongue of hers will not stay in her mouth. I can see myself being more covered in dog drool than sweat

Argh - I haven't been keeping up on this thread!

Monday - Had a lackluster practice... was still recovering from Sunday's black belt class, and just wasn't much into it. Practiced forms for a bit, stretched a lot. Called it good.

Wednesday - I had some energy to burn, and I burned it! 30 minutes minutes forms circuit - pushups, squats, static kicks, and forms.. By the end, I was a pool of sweat and heavy breathing, and it was fun!

I went to class for the first time in almost 2 weeks. Had been moving and painting and working - was really tired but went anyway and ended up getting an hour extra private lesson after class. Feeling sore this morning!

Early morning grading today. Probably about an hour and a half. It got to the katas and my sensei said I must start at the beginning and keep going until I ran out of katas I knew. I went all the way up to sunseiru, but that was not quite right. I'll get my results at next week's class!

Black belt class this morning - sparring, stretching, then gun defense. I did not participate in the gun takeaway work other than as observer, as my hands are still recovering from last week.

I haven't been keeping up much, I'll have to try to remember
Monday was mostly teaching basics to juniors with a bit of sparring at the end of class
    No weapons class on Wednesday
Thursday was padwork and kata. I upset one of the new first dan girls by being on the same kata as her :smirk:
Sunday was sparring and more kata, I got my *tick* for my kururunfa and started learning two more - tensho and sanchin, which are quite different from the katas I have learned up to now :)

i went for a 2hr class yesterday - it was a pretty full class and i felt very challenged to keep up with the teenagers. i've been burning the candle at both ends for the last 2 months so i've been feeling pretty run down in general, but feels really good after class is over!
