We did our celebration yesterday, and it was lovely. All the kids were here, the dogs, lots of food and laughter and a friend of mine came, too. We ended the evening at my Dfil's church's Christmas Eve service, which we've been attending with him forever. (or 27 years for me!)
My favorite gift (I think) was a calendar Dd21 and her fiance had made for me. It's a 2018 Jim calendar! HA HA! It says "Man of Your Year: He's Bringing Sexy Back" and has silly pics of Dh from the past year. I love it!
I woke up super early today and spent it in some prayer and contemplation, and this is what came out of that. I hope you all have a blessed day!
In the dark and peaceful morning hour
While my family all still sleep
Festive twinkles spark a flame
Awakening the deep

Beyond my comprehensions

Good morning BBB friends.
My DW and I have been suffering some sort of respiratory crud for a while, as you know. Two days ago I found a small package in the mail. I opened it to find a small bottle of essential oils, blended to help improve the immune system - and it smells really good, too. The surprise gift was from Raine, here on BBB. What a thoughtful, caring person. Her kindness is representative of the attitude I see here every day (even from you and your sense of humor Skip and Lou). Whether you celebrate Christmas, or not, Rita and I send you all our heartfelt wishes for a joyous day. Peace.0 -

- I worked AV at the Christmas eve service last night. The last hymm is Silent Night. Everyone has a candle and the lights go off. Moving. I've noticed Methodist sing louder when the lights are off.
- I came home and we exchanged presents. Emma had fun.

Merry Christmas.
Had a really nice Christmas with my family. We all left mid-afternoon. Sisters had to get home for Christmas eve church at their churches. Ron and I stuck around to finish up laundry, cleaned the bathrooms and generally pull the house back together. The last to leave is in charge of this and since that usually falls on my sister Stacie (who lives the closest) we decided to pitch in.
Dad has murphy beds in the garage that we fold down for the kids to sleep on. they are getting older and it used to look like a slumber party but now really looks like (and smells ) like a dorm.
Headed to Ron's brothers house for noon meal. We likely won't stay too long as his mom isn't in good shape and gets overwhelmed by company.0 -
