Good morning Lee and all who follow.
It appears as if the roads are very bad with black ice. But, School wasn’t canceled or even a delay? Must not be as bad as people are putting out there.
Busy day so I better get busy.
Friends over for dinner tonight. I’m making steak and chicken fajitas!!
Make it a marvelous day!!0 -
Mornin' BBB.
14 degrees and it feels warm, LOL.
Lou, being near the train station for your job commute is convenient. Once again, congrats! You were persistent and persevered. Well done.
Steph, DW is ready for condo living. She has had enough of country living and says she going to leave me and the dogs for an apartment in NYC. Tess may be the only reason she hasn't left.
BBB OP ;-)0 -
Good Morning!
Looks like black ice in KC too. Really heaving freezing fog last night.
There's a football team in KC? I hadn't noticed. Stupid Chiefs.
Lou, sounds like you landed a sweet one. Lay in some good audio books for the train ride, and enjoy not having to fight traffic. When do you start?
Have a great day!0 -
Wow, Lee!
Come live the Farm to Table lifestyle with us at https://willowsfordlife.com
Schools closed here again (its too cold for the kiddies).
Lou - be sure to pack a healthy snack for your lunch box
Stay warm!

Good morning BBB.
Ice on the roads was the worst part of morning commuting, back when I was working. You would see a half dozen cars in the ditch and there would still be dimwits racing along as though it was on dry pavement. Now, I just stay home and avoid the aggravation.
Lee, my DW is constantly on about moving to a smaller house = with no shop space. I tell her I am never moving again. We've been in this house almost 16 years = longest I have ever lived in one place - and my roots are in deep.0 -
Good Morning BBB.
Jack found a deer leg in the yard this morning - the coyotes were busy last night.
Tom and I are looking to downsize when we move to Florida but we will have a side lot with a shop. I could not live in a condo again - too close.
Lou - outstanding!
Do good out there everyone.0 -
Correction - not a deer leg but an unidentified piece of hide with grey fur. Who knows what it was.0

morning gang
Woke up achy this morning..hopefully just from my workout yesterday and not getting sick. Thankfully no travel this week.
St Maarten is beautiful. French side was expensive for food. Several great beaches I can recommend but they are all a ways from the port. Most of the French side is nude beaches. The Ice Cream is super fluffy, more like cold cool whip. Funny how that is what sticks out the most. Also noisy...lots of horn honking, mostly in a friendly I see you kind of way.
Shopping in San Juan was great. I came home with clothes and art. Mostly I took photos of the great architecture. The Hilton is about a 15 minute walk from the port but has a great beach area, loungers poolside and drinks.1 -
Morning BBB
Lots to read through today! Nice! The new year is off to a good start.
Im train riding down to Chicago in two weeks for a 3 day trade show. The "Hiawatha" MKE to Chicago.
We looked at some condo's before buying our house in 2016. Nope, condo living is not for us, not yet anyway. The oh no, you can't have a grill, gas, propane or charcoal on your patio, (Wisc state law) in itself was enough for us to say forget it! Plus the $300+ a month condo fees are crazy. We can hire a "guy" to do our lawn work, etc. for way less than that a month.
Housing market should continue to pick up. Hope you all selling/buying have good outcomes!
Can't wait to hear more of Lou's job details!
Temps here are up to 30F, whoa its a heat wave! And the sunshines bright! I see spring.
Enjoy the day!

Good morning BBB Friends.
- Life is getting back to the post holiday norm. Breakfast with the ROMEOs this morning.
- I remember a lazy afternoon on Orient Beach in St Maarten. I wish they would limit the nudity to a select few but no, they let any darn fool do it.
- What I remember about San Juan is the food and as Steph says, the architecture.
- We ae supposed to be getting back to normal seasonal tempuratures this week. Yay!
- UGA has an uphill battle tonight against AL. Let's hope they pull it off.
- Is Lou off to work today?

Good Afternoon,
County closed today, we had a 20% chance of a 1/10" of ice; needless to say I'm always glad for paid snow day. County was already closing early because of National Championship Game.
Still had to drive into Atlanta today for Dr. appointment, arm is doing great and do not have to return unless I have a problem; did advise me of lots of arthritis in hand.
Tomorrow off for GP doctor appointment. I'm taking off every time I have an appointment using up sick leave so I don't lose it.
Went to gym this morning will start back with yoga class Wednesday.
DMIL had run out out of wine and liquor and neither me nor DW would drive her to get more yesterday. Today she made sure she was up to go with DW to store. I wonder what she had to have to watch the game tonight.
We should be up near 70 by Thursday but then back down with highs in 40's by Sunday.
Condo, not for me; do not want neighbors that close plus I like a little bit of freedom on how home looks. Now a condo for a second home would be a different story, could use a condo down of gulf. Have seen where owners of vacation properties spend all their vacation doing repairs and maintenance on property where they do not get to enjoy property.
Lou, job sounds great with lots of challenge.
GOOOO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy the Day,
Sam I am0 -
•14 degrees heat wave for Lee
•Congrats to Lou for sure. Glad it is working out.
•Yea Steve sorry about KC. They really didn't show up in the second half. Since Mariota is a nice kid that played in Oregon I was pleased that he put in a serious effort doing everything from catching his own pass to laying a great block for his running back to seal the game.
•I don't have a dog in the fight or another team to tide me over to it's side either tonight. May watch a snippet or two but doubt that my butt will fall asleep in football coma. DW has zero interest. Now if Wisconsin had made the fight she would have supported her Badgers and watched more.
•Glad you had a great trip Steph! Hoping your soreness etc is just gym stuff.
•I have finally shaken my shortish bout with the flu as of some time Saturday and happy about that.
•Hey Sam glad your arm is doing better and that you are going back to yoga. In my yoga class I can always back off and not do stuff to aggravate my injuries etc.0 -
Hi, folks.
I shot down to Louisville because I promised my niece I'd visit her before I started my new job. It seemed like an empty promise a few months ago because I kept stalling trips down for fear of being unavailable for an interview. So, with my starting next Tuesday, I needed to get down here.
Mary - make sure you wave to me as the Amtrak train blows past my place. Seriously. Passes right by our bedroom window.
I don't have a real preference in the game tonight except that I hate Alabama fans with the burning fury of a thousand sun's. It all goes back to an NCAA tournament game several years ago when IU played Alabama and there was a table of their fans at the bar. They were obnoxious as heck screaming "Roll Tide!" with every basket, etc. IU won anyway, so I took some measure of satisfaction from that, but I've hated Alabama ever since.0
