    Good morning BBB.

Doing a little better, today. I actually made it out to the shop for a bit, the last two days. I've been working on a figured maple bowl with a walnut lid. The intent was for it to be a sugar bowl, but it might be too large, in which case, it's just a pretty bowl. I have made turning the lid more complicated than need be, but that's the fun.

Stay warm and dry. Have a great day.

    Good Morning!

Sam - You crack me up!

Dave - I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better!

Very cold in KC, and will be for several days. Expecting some snow for next couple of days. Ugh! I'm ready for spring, and ready to get the kayak wet.

    Have a great day!

I'm glad you're improving, Dave. I'm doing a bit better today, too. I have a bit of a voice, although it's hoarse. Yesterday and Thursday I could barely eek out a whisper. I still won't be singing tomorrow night ... Dd17 is going to be soloing. She's okay with that. I'll have Dd26 put down her flute and sing along on any parts that are difficult for her.

So we picked up the wedding dress last night, and found out that the bouquet we'd made didn't look great with it. So, we went home, tore it apart, and redid it. This one looks MUCH better with the dress. We'll use the other flowers (which she loves) for the bridesmaids and the decor. I'm glad we tried it! We also got all the table arrangements configured and bagged out for easy assembly the day of. We made GREAT progress yesterday!

    Skip, be nice.

Lee, you and your friend are in my prayers. That must be really heart-wrenching to watch him decline. In fact, it totally sucks. I love your heart to stay connected and supportive ... I'm guessing it's not fun or easy, but you are such a man of strength and honor. You'd never consider anything else, would you? It's simply who you are.

Mary, I've been rejected for that very reason, too. What I hate is when you have to walk past all the other donors on the way out the door, and you KNOW they're wondering WHY you got rejected ... I almost want to do something really crazy and play it up! HA HA!

Raine, did you take any pics of you in the XL getup? I want to see!

    Good morning BBB Friends.
    • Glad things are looking up Dave and Lisa. We take good health for granted until it's not there.
    • There is nothing wrong with taking iron supplements if you need them.
    • I love the questions you get when giving blood. "Have you ever slept with someone of the same sex on the northern side of the Altai mountains in Outer Mongolia on the 29th of February after eating a mad cow?" Well, let me think?
    • Skip, why the battle with AMEX?
    • I just realized I commited to going with the DW to a mystery murder dinner show tonight when the Falcons are playing the Eagles. Yuck, I hope they don't mind my smartphone.
    • Have a great OP day and stay warm my friends.

Crazy cold here too. Need to make a Costco run and do meal prep today. Traveling all week so won't take too long. Ron eats pretty clean so breakfast casserole and 2 big containers of guacamole plus prep the perrers and onions he adds to the steak he grills.

Thinking of painting the armoire I use to hold my work stuff. I have leftover paint from my desk. Saw something on Pinterest that won't leave my head.

    Morning BBB

    No dog advice for me?

Guy came to give us a quote this morning on watersoftener, and grocery shopping is already done. Lunch at home ate and tracked lol.

$1100.00 gets us a water softner installed, and test showed to no surprise, with extreme hard water results here. Least the piping was pre-installed for it!. Builder saved some $$ shortcut likely, and original young owners said "kitten" buying it. Guy said were likely only house within miles without it. I'm a city girl, never needed one with city water!

I'm VP of our HOA , no troubles yet. We are looking for a Treasurer by spring, ours is moving out and on. I'm not interested.

SO is installing all brand new fire/smoke alarms today.

Hope you can peek at the game Dennis. Enjoy the outing.

Lisa, glad your feeling a bit better. So exciting I'm sure, doing wedding stuff..... what is the wedding date, again?

Don't work too long Raine, its Sat., afterall.

Bill, don't take any * kitten * from AmerX.

Steph, you are so diy crafty and talented!

A woodturning mentor of mine has observed that one of the great things about turning is the instant gratification. A furniture building project might take a month to complete, but this sugar bowl (maple, with a walnut lid, 4" across, 3 1/2" tall) took about three hours of shop time. Great for my mental health.

    Evenin' BBB.

    Dave that's beautiful.

Lisa, I don't know how Bob's wife is dealing with it. It's killing me and I'm on the outside looking in. I pray for her multiple times a day.

What? Liver and onions isn't good enough medical advice?

Dennis, am watching the game in a red roof inn in Winchester VA with two Springer spaniels wrastling on the bed next to me.

    Steph, love renovating wood furniture.

DS#1 joining me soon and we are dining at Sweet Nola's tonight. New Orleans cuisine.

    Enjoy Lwe

I thought the liver and onions advice was for my low iron, not Maddie the dog trying to dig a hole to China lol

    Beautiful bowl Dave!

How do they get maple and walnut on the same tree? Nice bowl regardless. It might be a good thing I didn't have to watch that game.

Mary, it's Friday night, June 1. And as of now, I have the bridal bouquet done, all the bridesmaids' bouquets, the table centerpieces, and the cocktail table arrangements. I still have quite a bunch to do, but this is a great start.
