This is a very large stag horn cholla cactus. It’s is amazing that a plant that can be so painful if touched is also interesting and beautiful to be observed.
This cactus was alongside my desert walk yesterday’s evening.
To me, there is no more fulfilling way to exercise than to be in the outdoors.
I’m flying back to Chicago today. The outdoors is very hostile there!7 -
Welcome back, Rick! January 15 will be my last day of regular posting for the month of January as we will be leaving Tuesday for LA and then cruise to Hawaii. Hopefully, as I graze the offerings of the daily buffets I will be able to choose wisely to minimize collateral damage! Looking forward to spending time outdoors where the weather is not hostile. Thank you for sharing your pictures, Rick. Always great to see another's view, wherever it might be!
We return on February 2nd at which time I will look forward to rejoining the UAC. My sincere best wishes to all of you who continue to persevere. You are each in charge of your own destiny; and your commitment will be your success. It is the journey to achieve the goal which is most important.

Boy, that cactus pic takes me back. My parents had a cactus in the house...At 19, I was getting ready for my first date (with my now husband of 20+ years) I was running around a corner, slid in my socked feet and landed in it. Ouch! My first date started with thorn removal out of my hands and arms.5

15th January, working in Toulouse, staying in hotel and eating in restaurants. Have persuaded a colleague to join me on my healthy eating programme, he's overweight and unfit. This also helps me to stay on track!
Exercise: Yes, but minimal, more like 30 - 40 minutes strolling. My stepcounter claims almost 10,000 steps though. Went up and down two flights of stairs about 8 times.

Hello my friends and team mates!
I flew back to the frigid Chicago temperatures and snow!
I'll be here for about 2 weeks of presentations and then back to Arizona. My wife, Rose, and I have a pleasant condo near North Mountain in Phoenix. Rose will be there full-time until the end of April. I'll spend part-time with her.
My nose is already reacting the change of weather!!
Exercise today: lots of airline terminal travel loaded down with a heavy bookbag
