Hi! My name is Melissa. I am a mother and a wife. I have been eating vegan for over 3 years now. My change was pretty easy, at the time my teen aged daughter was eating vegan and as a mom I was concerned that she was eating well. I began cooking well balanced vegan meals for her to insure she was getting all she needed in her new diet. I read a lot about being vegan and a ton of recipes. After a while I decided to just cook everything vegan and cook meat as a side for the guys. Everything in my fridge over time was swapped out for vegan and most processed foods are gone.
Eating vegan I feel 100% better. My hair and skin look amazing and I am just happier.
I love Walt Disney World and Travel. I am always happy to talk about them too.4 -
I'm Jennifer and I've been at this since January 18. I'm a pediatric home health care nurse with a college aged daughter, 2 cats, and a dog. I live in Illinois for now. I love all kinds of outdoor activity, and I want to get in better shape to be able to do those activities better.4

Nice to meet you Jennifer! Thanks for your support. Together we can make our goals!1

Hi!
I’ve switched from vegetarian to vegan about a year ago. Had tried it before unsuccessfully because wasn’t paying attention to nutrition. Recently started seeing a dietician to make sure I’m getting it right this time.
Work as a psychiatric nurse. Married to an easy going omnivore. No kids, just a sweet little dog. Love running, yoga, dancing, cooking.
@sissyspace93 we camp, hike, bike, and kayak a lot in the summer. What’s your favorite outdoors activities?
@DisneyVeganLove I really like old Disney films, but have never been to any of the parks. Where else do you travel?3 -
Hi all, I'm a 50+ bean counter from the Oregon Coast. I've been vegan with occasional slip ups mostly involving non-vegan chips for 7+ years. I've been on the wagon since the beginning of the year. I slip into emotional eating mostly and have a hard time stopping once I've started. I'm married & have 3 cats and love traveling and music (making it mostly at church). My dh eats mostly vegan and lives in a different city during the week but comes home on weekends. I get my space & me time during the week. When I'm on a roll I workout 5x week in the mornings at home before my hour commute, during which I listen to a lot of podcasts. I find listening to vegan podcasters helps me keep on track.3

Thanks for joining us Ladies.
I will travel anywhere. We have have visited. Cancun, Nassau, Aruba, some Caribbean islands via cruises and many US States. I love traveling to sunny hot places.
I am not a fan of exercise. I biggest problem is portion size and over indulging.
We have a great group started here. Let's keep the support going!

I keep replying to the post I was mentioned in but it keeps disappearing haha. Ok third try is the charm. My boyfriend and I like to rollerblade, kayak, SUP, hike, camp a little, swim. I play a little bit of golf and want to start playing volleyball. Wish I could dance! That would be so much fun but I can't figure out the steps for the life of me.3

I've been in this very sedentary career for over 8 yrs. I've been fortunate, I work with of people I work with (men and women alike) gain a large amount of weight doing this job and I seem to be able to stay within 5 pounds of my current weight. Hi, I’ve been vegan nearly 3 years. Made the connection whilst breastfeeding my daughter and realising it was also up to me to set her moral compass. Gained a lot of weight unfortunately then eating too much carbs and processed vegan food so have just started eating healthier and lifting weights with a PT 3x week. Hoping I can stick at it!5

Hi everyone, I'm Carly and I live in Pittsburgh, PA. I'm married and have 2 stepdaughters (16 and 19) and a little girl that's 6. We have 3 cats and a dog and I'm in school full time for my BSN. Our life is very busy and hectic and we recently found out that my husband has a rare and aggressive cancer that he has decided to fight. I have been about half vegan for years, with some intermittent paleo eating, but decided that as of Jan 1 this year I would commit fully to the vegan diet. I quit smoking over 2 years ago and quit drinking this month too. It is so important to me to remain healthy and be my best for my kids now...
So crazy life over here and I think if I can have a group to be part of, I'll have a place to stay committed to the weight loss aspect and a space for friendship and venting ...I love to cook and have been using the meal plans from Happy Herbivore to help with my prepping each week...
I try to workout when I don't work, but I don't always get it in...When I do I love cardio (especially Turbo Jam) and I enjoy picking up weights too...8 -
Welcome Carly! Happy you are here!1

Hi! I’m Kaylee! 20 years old. 21 on March 21st. My husband and I have been vegan for over a year, now. (Ever since we got married) I love animals, holistic health, art, music & yoga! We have a little Pomeranian named Peanut whom I adore and spend my days with! ❤️
I used to be very fit & was a gymnast! But I had a few health problems that have caused a bit of weight gain. As someone who used go be in great shape, it hurts to look in the mirror and see fat where abs used to be. But I am determined to once again become in control of my body! We’ve got this!
Nice to meet you all!3 -
Hello,
I love reading all these introductions. I am 32 years old, married with 2 daughters (4 and 2 yrs old). It seems I'm the newest to this way of eating. We just started a couple weeks ago. I watched the documentary "What the Health" and followed up with "Forks over Knives". It really surprised me to learn all these things I was taught are not true (you need meat for protein and milk for calcium). And actually hurting my health. So I immediately made the change and I do not want to go back 1 bit. I feel so much better already physically and mentally. I feel better about the food I'm giving my family. My mother died of breast cancer when she was 36 and I just don't want to leave my girls behind like that. I want to be there to see them go off to college and get married.

Hi everyone! Steve here! I’m 63 and have been vegan for about 10 years and vegetarian since the 70s ! That was when we thought we had to eat rice and beans together to get a complete protein. Does anyone else remember those days?2
-
Hi, I am a nurse, mother of two daughters ages 6 and 9, married to my hubby and live in Illinois. I have been convinced from Netflix that a plant based diet is the healthiest but want to try it out for myself. I am going to try it for the next 30 days and see how I feel. Yesterday was day one and so far so good!!! I also workout for 1 to 1.5 hours a day!2

Welcome Steve & Jkowals! Thanks for joining us! I do remember the rice & bean days! I love how things have change and how easily it is to dine out now. 30 days is all you need to see a difference actually you will feel changes in less the 5 days. Happy to help with any questions and suggestions. Happy Weekend!0
