This is a great time of year at our farm. Here is scene from our woodland area with bluebells in profusion.
It was a perfect spring day.
We cleared and cut winter deadfall tres for hours. I’m tired, sore and happy10 -

Exercised?: Yes. Yes. Setup and takedown drone course (over 13,000 steps again).

Today was qualifier for nationals. Nationals are in Perth in November, so a LONG way away). Pretty sure I was the oldest pilot in the field. Did not get an automatic entry into nationals from the club (only 4 club spot's and many more in the field way better than me). However nationals entry can be done through DVR footage and my times were good enough that if I want to go I most likely can. Personally I don't feel I am ready, but maybe after another year.
I did fly a personal best and was not the slowest in the field.

Been on a bike ride today, covered a lot of ground, over 25miles.
Seen some gorgeous countryside, caves and steams along the way. It's also 22C here, so I'm also nicely cooked, lol.

@RangerRickL Nice photo of your spring woodlands. We have a 52 acre vacant parcel with woods...but I tend to stay out of there because of the poison ivy. Poison ivy and I don't get along...and for me, it never goes away without medication. Love the bluebells in your forest, though!
@trixsey1 Very nice pics. Thank you for sharing. In particular, what is the field of yellow? When we traveled across the provinces in Canada, we saw many yellow fields of canola (a cultivar of rape or rapeseed) in bloom. Same, or something different?4 -

May 5: pass day #1. Had a great workout and plenty of other exercise but an impromptu pot luck with friends provided some great home brew and food I didn't make and couldn't track easily. Lots of veg though, and no dessert.
May 6: 3x yes. A quiet day with my daughter and the horses before she heads back up to the Saguenay region where her army duties take her for the next few weeks. She's part of the G7 meeting preparation and protection. Hopefully all will be smooth, even though it's Trump's first visit to Canada as president. There will likely be some rather big protests, but the RCMP and army are working hard to keep it all safe for everyone. We had a good walk and a beautiful ride in the sunshine - I think even the horses were smiling.7 -

In budget? No, by 3 calories this is my third strike but I will continue - this is a very interesting learning process: I eat when bored so need to stay out of the kitchen when not cooking and have some low cal options available and not a handful of nuts. Food needs to planned out so I don't have unknowns and eat out meals because something isn't defrosted or purchased. I also tend to snack right before dinner, which means I can push dinner to later in the evening-I need to retrain myself to start cooking at a reasonable time so that I eat dinner and not eat a snack and push dinner to a later time frame.8 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yep! We did our “Core and Stamina” day today. I’ll be feeling it tomorrow. I was actually able to do 10 hanging leg raises without swinging my body a lot to give myself momentum. We finished on a stationary bike for 20 minutes.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Thanks to my exercise calories for the week, I stayed within my calories for the day.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yep!

Yes X 3 with indoor exercise video today. Usual morning porridge, but then very light at lunch with cauliflower soup and afternoon snacks of pineapple and a mandarin. Saved up most of my calories throughout the day to enjoy an evening and dinner out with our youngest son, his wife, and three of our grandchildren.5

Feeling a bit less motivation and commitment this month. I know exactly why that is and am quite annoyed at myself for it. The scale has given me an upswing the past week and I’ve let that get me down. I know that weight fluctuates and it’s not a big deal. I know this in my head. But then the emotional part of me gives in and says ‘if you’re in a deficit and still gaining weight, then you might as well just enjoy the chocolate. And the carrot cake too while you’re at it.’
Today was a better day.7 -
Yesterday was the best day of the year here in the Chicago metro area. I worked hard in our woodland area clearing deadfall from the forest trails. In the afternoon, I took a very easy 90 minute horseback ride in the woods and the adjoining prairie park. I am a park steward so I checked out those trails too. I have some work to do there too.
Yesterday was a easy 3 yeses due to more than 4 hours of intense exercise.
Today, was an easy recovery day with a 35 minute walk and lots of work around the farm.
