Yesterday's focus just happened to be about the struggles with office or group eating events at which too much food is prepared and served. We all want to 'get along by going along" and that wrecks our goals. A number of you encouraged us to plan ahead; prepare ahead and eat what we have prepared.

@RangerRickL. It's the old "fail to plan" conundrum. However, "No plan survives first contact with the enemy (or implementation)".
I find if you are mindful of the circumstance you can find some way through that does not:- Exclude you from the situation.
- Exclude you from your goals.
Actually having a known dietary preference (like gluten free), gives you an easy way of dealing with not eating food you don't prefer in a social situation without being excluded. People understand why you may not be eating with them, and it's not because of them.

Been stuck in a car most of today, it's been a long slow day for sure.
So my exercise was kinda of a mad burst of activity this evening.
I got in my run as I didn't get chance this morning, a hours walk with my woofie, followed by a 2 hour bike ride.
Not as long a workout as I would have liked, but it's been a long slow day and that as taxed me more than a full days work, mentally. Certainly needed to unwind.

@craigo3154 - hope it's just a case of being over tired and nothing else. Sometimes when I'm fatigued I feel like I'm coming down with a cold or something, perhaps it's just a case of just needed some rest - fingers crossed. Get your head down and I hope you feel better in the morning.3 -

Getting ready to get on a plane and head home for the rest of the week. I'm so excited to go home and really crossing my fingers that I can exhibit self control when surrounded by all of my favorite foods. I'm not going to deny myself grandma's cookies, but I'd like to just eat 2 or 3, not 4 dozen... !!3 -
Yes X 3 with a beautiful 40 minute stroll through one of our County Parks. Can't resist sharing a few pics. Lilacs weren't out much but lots of other flowering trees and shrubs. The reservoir was nice and clean...and I just love the shrub that has blossoms of three different shades of pink on it. Not sure I've seen anything like it before. Forty years ago I recall a tomato plant in our garden that had both full size tomatoes and cherry tomatoes (growing like grapes) on the same plant. I think mother nature was confused.

I feel so lucky to have found this group. The posts are good and interesting. It's more motivating during the week to know other people are on the same page and striving for their goals too.

Yes x 3 Oh thank goodness another newbie to piyo joined the class so now the teacher gears it to us and not queen of extreme. Now I feel like I can complete the course . I will not be signing up too soon for the next session.

Did ok today - all tracked, within goal, exercise not what I wanted to do, but plenty. Lots of farmer's carry this morning bringing hay and water out to the far field for the horses, then a good long walk in the city before going to a funeral. Long drive to and from Montreal but it was good to be there.3

It is not quite bedtime but I guess the kitchen is closed.
Hard exercise day. Did two hill repeats on the monster hill.
Got some PR's in the first iteration. I got to quit punching it for that.
I forgot to wear my heart rate monitor.
Got near the top of the second and couldn't control respiration or HR.
Had to stop. Catch your breath they call it. I don't do that very often. I bet my heart was over 100%. Horse fly dogged me all the way up. I couldn't outrun him.
I ought to put a pic of something.
Countdown to Memorial Day. I am going to camp by this lake and ride my bike in those mountains. That lake, you have to have a reservation to camp there. You have to get your reservation in like January. You have to devise a bit of internet strategy or trickery because there are other guys that want to push the button for Memorial Day. But yay! I out foxed them!
There are fish in this lake but you have to get up early for that. If you get up early you see these birds, Osprey. They splash into the water and catch a fish and haul it off to their kids in a tree. Too bad I don't have a picture of an Osprey. I have to upgrade my photo equipment to get a picture of that.

Exercise: been on my feet all day shopping for a pageant dress for my daughter's first pageant. Found the perfect dress by the way! Not sure how many steps because I forgot my *fake* bit at home but I'm sure it was alot.
