Hows it going? I'm hoping to get in the pool this week for exercise. I need more exercise. What do you do to burn calories?

Still losing. It’s got to be the cut in carbs and sugars because I didn’t walk at all last week. Had a lot going on due to medical issues. I walked one mile before work today and will do a walk at home dvd this evening. It’s gotten too hot to walk on my lunch hour. That’s the only thing I don’t like about summer. What I love about summer is gardening. Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and squash are planted and doing great. Looking forward to lots of fresh veggies.0 -

I'm not doing very well at all. I'm going in the wrong direction. I'm not sure how to take steps back to where I need to be. I'm bingeing. The last few weeks I haven't been having the 'full or hungry' feeling. I'm not sure what to do.. I feel so negative towards myself.1 -
Hi Megannxx. The best advice I can offer is don’t beat yourself up. I know when I have those negative feelings, I tend to binge which makes me feel worse so I binge more. It is just a vicious cycle. I’ve started to try to fill up on veggies. Cucumbers, peppers, carrots, whatever. Drinking plenty of water helps too. I saw a post on MFP from someone who said she filled a quart size baggie every day with an assortment of fresh veggies and anytime during the day when she was tempted to snack, she would only snack from her veggie bag. I allow myself two tablespoons of hummus to go with my veggies. I know it’s easier said than done but change is hard. Do it for yourself and your health. I’m 58 and starting to have serious health problems because of a lifetime of poor eating habits. I knew to take better care of myself and I didn’t do it. Now I’m paying the price. Think about how much better you will feel when you’ve lost the excess weight. You are worth the hard work. Tell yourself that when those negative thoughts are there.1
