Updated Windows on my laptop last night, and now all the menus and messages are in German this morning. Ach du lieber! Am learning German so I tried to just install spellchecking for it, but got more than I expected... I may have to find a German speaking computer geek to undo this.

My hike with DD and 5 y.o. DGD got cancelled yesterday---DD called last minute and said older GD had head-lice that needed treatment. Turned out to be blackfly bites, fortunately. Made some more dried meals yesterday. I do one serving per ziploc bag. Planning to stock up for camping trips. Meal planning is easier. I usually put each day's meals plus snacks in one larger bag for the day. Longest trip has been ten days, but I know folks who have done 20, 30, even 45-day canoe trips in the Canadian North. I am limited by having to carry 25 lb lead batteries for CPAP, one for each day. Brought a generator to recharge on the 10 day trip.

Chilly today. Will get in a hike this morning, then do some stuff at home. Weight still just holding steady... haven't been tracking much lately, but it's good to be getting into a rhythm of regular exercise.

    Aufwedersehen.

    Good morning gentlemen.

You started my day off with a chuckle. Danke schoen, Mike.

Heading for the Olympics for a hike up the Dosewallups River, today. My first hike of the year. Yippee! Not a very dramatic hike - mostly river and canyon views - but not one that will require straining my hand, either. It will just be great to get out with a pack on my back.

    Mornin' gents.

Viel Glück with that Mike. I too got a chuckle.

Dave, that is a long drive just for the scenery. I know the Olympics are gorgeous, but I don't think my knees or hips would be too happy with me...that would prefer me to hike for the scenery. Sounds like that is on your agenda for today.

    Sam, hows the swelling?

    Steve, how was the dentist?

Bill, have you tried riding a recumbent bike?

    Be OP ;-)

The heavy marine batteries are why I got into canoe camping; only way I can go anywhere away from the car. Still a pain, and slows me down, but at least I can get into the wilderness a bit.

Good Morning! Ach du lieber Himmel Mike!
Dave, glad you are getting back out there.
Lee, I use one for 8-10 minutes when at PT, though the first minute or so are a little tough. Hard to keep the hips and back properly positioned though to avoid causing other problems. I got an appointment next week with an ortho to assess my knee.
Finished all my colonoscopy prep for this mornings fun times. I wish I could weigh in first.

    Good Morning,
Swelling down, now ankles are dark purple with broken veins, off today will keep propped up as much as possible.
Bill, allowing folks to peek where sun does not shine; hope all is clear.
    Enjoy hike Dave,
I believe I would enjoy hiking more if it were not so hot and humid, when in TN and NC very enjoyable hikes.
    Enjoy the Day,
