T - 9 days to the wedding. And speaking of a countdown, did any of you see the rocket launch yesterday? I happened to catch a live feed when I wasn't looking. It sounds like it has something to do with monitoring water cycles on earth.
Mary, the flowers look bright and happy and beautiful! You do SUCH a great job at landscaping! I mentioned wanting lilacs on fb the other day, and I think some of my members are planning to bring me some shoots today to plant. We'll see if they remember. I'm sure Jim will love the extra work ... ha ha! But it doesn't take long to plant them, once we decide where.
Dave, I'm sure you had a blast with your little. Do you need a rest day today now? Ha ha! My rest day yesterday turned into a sick day ... a stomach thing got me. So, after waaaaaay more work than it should take, I subbed out last night's meeting and stayed home. It's very difficult to find a sub when you're running to the bathroom to be sick, you know? We need a better system. I hope I'm all better today for my 4 meetings.
Kelly, that is heavenly! **sigh**
I'm seeing a little pop-up in the corner of my screen that says "you can't react to your own post" and I think that's bull. Just sayin'. What if my post moves me? Do I just pretend that I have no feelings? I am not a stoic!

Mornin' BBB.
Ha! Exactly Lisa...sometimes I just crack myself up and want to react. I still want to know what the "woo" reaction is supposed to mean.
Mary, those flowers and plants are really nice to look at. You do have a gift.
Dave, do you think its genetic or more environmental the love of the outdoors? I would bet it has some genetic foundation. I love the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and the farm life. Me dad and mum took me to the beach and educational destinations...I do enjoy the beach and museums and ballet but it they don't call me. I think exposure to things allows our DNA to say yay or nay.

Morning,
SBUX in hand; laptops fired up; and ready for this Hump Day!
We found something odd last night: Hardwood Floors! Yup, underneath them there boxes were floors! We are about 70% through the boxes.... DW and I made a huge dent yesterday!
Mary - totally digging the landscape (did you get that? Digging. ha! I crack me up)! So wish you did consultation (AKA: please come save my yard)!
Not much else to add - just ready for the weekend and the Mecca of Race Days: Indy and Coke 600! Capitals Game 7 tonight (biting nails more)!
Stoic, Lisa? Nope, I think you have an altruistic personality, Lisa! T-9 - can't wait to hear how the event goes.....
Cheers~

Good Morning BBB.
I am loving all the pictures of flowers, landscape, and beach and the image of seeing your floors again, and bagels!
We reduced the price, again, it is what it is and if we want to move then we need to just get it done. The alternative is that we could ride the Illinois market down further.
The beach is calling!
Do good out there everyone!0 -
Sam - love the countdown!0

Ugh, tough market Raine.
"Digging the landscape"...so many interpretations.0 -
Good morning.
I know I drank a lot of coffee yesterday, but didn't realize that it could have such a dramatic impact on the planet that they're launching rockets to study it.
They definitely need to rethink the sub system, Lisa. I used to get emails begging for subs. Now, they use the calendar and act shocked that they can't fill open slots. By the time they send a panicked email - to the account I rarely check - it's too late.
So, you don't want to help Illinois by continuing to pay obscene property taxes, Raine? I'm beginning to question your loyalty...0 -
Good morning BBB crew.
Lisa the stoic? I think not.
The nurture or nature question, Lee. My dad was a forester. He didn't hunt or fish, but loved the natural world. I vividly remember him amazing a group of us Boy Scouts by finding dry material in an Oregon winter rain, then starting a fire to warm us up - using flint and steel, rather than matches. We lived at the edge of town, and my buddy and I would take off in the morning, armed with out BB guns. We would roam the fallow fields and woods all day and not come home until darkness or hunger for supper forced us to. Maybe genetics push my DS in that direction. Maybe just learned behavior from the example he grew up with.
Multiple countdowns: the wedding (9), then the retirement (34). Love 'em both.0 -
I think both attribute, Dave. Children learn what they live.
Good Morning!
Dig my Landscape, pay me to dig yours! LOL Skip, fly me out all expenses paid and Im there, with your credit card, of course! Yay for finding the floors!
I think Im scratching the new car course and buying a certified preowned 2015 Escape, Titianium package, Black, with black leather interior, 19,000 miles on it. The wheels are in motion with emails this morning. We'll see if the salesman returns my quest to make a deal.
Sending mojo to Raine for an offer! Bring it!
Lisa, the buzz I feel coming out of your heart and home with this wedding is very exciting!!!
Be safe, be happy BBB

Good morning BBB Friends.
- I lean toward environmental. If you grow up around the outdoors, you want the outdoors. I'm loving my move out of the big city to the sticks.
- The Escape Titanium is a nice vehicle Mary. All the goodies and they haven't changed much over the last few years. Smart move.
- I am putting together a lecture for next week on the Proper Care and Attendance for the Fallen Hero. I'll be teaching it on Memorial Day.
- Finding floors is a good thing.
- Let's hope the new price does the trick Raine. MOJO!
- T-9 and 34.

VERY COOL, Dennis!
Excited that our Post will be hosting "The Saluting Marine" this Friday evening (ahead of Rolling Thunder).
For those not familiar -
VFW Post 7916 Welcomes “The Saluting Marine,” Staff Sergeant Tim Chambers
We are honored to host SSG Chambers this Friday of Memorial Day weekend at our Post home. SSG Chambers has been holding a salute for the Rolling Thunder riders each year since 2002. Since that time, he has participated in many events nationwide and just returned from the Boston Wounded Vets Ride.

Well, we have a car deal. May close it tomorrow or Friday - Im off work already Friday so why not waste it in a car dealership, not. Im trying for tomorrow late afternoon. I let the sales manager get the last word in. So unlike me, but from one sales manager to another, I get it. I got another incentive of 1500 off, and another $100 for my trade, but he'd budge no further. I may get them to toss in a grill though since they are giving those away to "new" car buyers this memorial day weekend. LOL. I don't need a new grill though, I just got one. Its the point!
I had to give another shopper the major stink eye last night. Dude pulls up in his Chrysler 300, close up next to this Escape Im looking at on the lot with the sales guy. Gets out, comes over to the car, starts looking at it, asking the salesman questions, etc. totally ignoring the fact Im there discussing the car with the guy. I looked at him and then at the salesman like I was some kind of maniac ready to pop the lid. I finally said, lets go for a ride, and the salesman was like, sir, if you'd like to step inside the showroom someone will be right with you in there.
As I was driving away I asked the salesman if that was his idea of a sale tactic. He laughed and said no, he didn't arrange that.... Then I said well, it might not be a bad plan. LOL.
The best part of this new car is that's its an automatic transmission. I am so sick of my 5 speed. It was fun for a long time, now Im tired of being stuck in traffic with it.
Thanks for the car tips BBB, I hope it all works out for me!0 -
Congratulations, Mary!
Luv me some car shopping. Though, the last few cars I've bought have literally been done through a dozen text messages and the dealer brings the car to my doorstep. Easy peasy nice and easy. I had an Escape for a rental a few times. VERY snappy! You'll love it..... Sell the grill on Craigslist or better yet - donate to your local VFW or American Legion for a tax deduction! They'll be most grateful!

Great idea, Skip!!! I'll see if I can finagle that grill out of them tomorrow!1
