    Mornin' BBB .

Back from Southern Maine dog trials. First trial went Friday and Saturday, second trial was Sunday. Tough course for Springer Spaniels. Very narrow and varied cover from low sparse grass and ferns to lightly wooded to heavily wooded. The center line separating the brace of dogs running was not easily distinguished. Great for English field cockers which work close, disastrous for Babe who likes to run big. Her exceptional scenting ability is what got us in trouble actually. The scenting was tough due to the hot and dry conditions, but not for Babe. She made finds on her bracemates birds as well as hers, thus crossing over the center line and flushing a bird not on her course (called poaching). So we were out in the first series in both trials. Slower and closer working dogs survived and won placements. Not the kind of dogs that will do well at the nationals. I will probably not go to those trial grounds again.

Overall an education. Its what we call a "thank you for your donation" moment. Enjoyed the people and the location but not the results.

    What did I miss?

    Morning

I'm with Mary....what happened to the weekend? Great concert and community event Friday evening; Saturday/Sunday a blur.

Doc - AB is just an eager gal. She's great at her craft, ribbons be dammed....Hows discussions with introducing a new Dinwiddie pooch to the brood?

Gonna be a long week. Boss returns tomorrow after a week off; lots to catch up on. Next week I'm in VT for residency and graduation...

    Here's to a great week!

    Good morning.

There's a golf outing today that will clear out half the office. This is a high dollar donor event, so of course it's overcast and cool with eleventy bazillion percent humidity. I will be at the office because wealthy donors don't want to talk with accountants.

    Conference in Charleston, SC Wed-Fri.

    Good Morning BBB.
We are hoping that it will dry out a bit here. Tons of rain lately.
    Lee - I love AB!
Lou - I would think that big donors would want to always have an accountant around! Enjoy SC.
Bill - I can’t believe that it’s VT time again.
    Do good out there everyone.

    Good morning
Rained most of the day yesterday. Raining this morning.
Sally did very well with the pup. I told her I would reward her with a nice walk. She glared at me so I just gave her a biscuit.
Too bad about the outing Lee. Maybe another dog??

I couldn’t imagine groceries being delivered. I think this is new? Lisa, I thought you lived in a small rural community. I might be wrong.
We do have the click list here but you have to go to the store and get them. I’m sure if I used it I’d save quite a bit. I spent about $200 this weekend at the grocery store.
    Steaks on the grill tonight.
Really liking this new ap and I weighed in this morning. Drumroll please......... down over 5 pounds.
    Make it a great day.

Congrats on the loss, Kelly! What is this about Sally and a puppy? Maybe my dog just needs a better handler and not the other way around.

    Is there S'Bux in VT?

The closest SBUX in VT is 20 miles away. Needless to say - my mornings don't start off so well!

Amazing how spoiled we are becoming when technology intersects with demand. The time saved from going to/fro and aggravation from waiting in line behind some blathering whining four year old insisting (s)/he needs candy; or the worst: a check writer; is worth the convenience fee to deliver them to my door.

Doc - I'm not picking up what you're putting down. Seriously? AB is just advanced and the others are trying to keep up

    Morning BBB

No way do I want the store employees picking out my groceries. Im a date reader and reach from the back, always, shopper. This comes from my high school job working at a store for 4 yrs, trust me. I'm not saying you're getting expired stuff, I'm saying you're getting the older stuff they want sold, first. Dont get me started on the "shop backs" where people get to the counter and then they don't want it and it sits in a cart till the end of the day and gets put back... I need to visually see my meat and produce myself. We used to have to straighten the shelves, which pretty much meant old product to the front. Same when stocking.

    Ugghhhh Mobday already?

We still go pick out meats/veggies/fruits ourself.
Other sundries and dry goods are what we use the delivery shopper for.

    Good morning BBB Friends.
    • WTG Kelly! I think I found your 5#.
    • AB says the dog who gets the most birds wins. I don't have time for no silly rules.
    • Lou, I would pick Charleston over a golf course any day. Great city.
    • I had breakfast with the ROMEOs this morning. BTW, I like Mondays now.
    • I'm volunteering at the North GA Methodist Annual Conference for the next three days. I've already checked Skip. There is a SBUX in the Hyatt next door.

    Morning BBB

Headed to Houston today. Pouring rain with lightning and thunder so not sure if we will be in time.

I get groceries delivered whenever I remember to order them. It is a local-ish grocery store chain that does it here. 4.95 if the bill is less than $100 or free of over. But you have to order 24 hours or so ahead of time. I think they do a great job of picking out produce and we get our meat from the butcher shop a half side at a time.

Got in a couple of good bike rides this weekend and visited a juggeling festival.

    Congrats on the loss Kelly!
I agree that AB is advanced and gets the job done! In the field we all would rather have AB - enough of these trials already - lots go hunting for real!

Lee, I think she should have gotten extra credit for retrieving theirs, too! Seems logical to me.

Skip, who was the concert? Anyone we know of?

Lou, I was thinking the same as Raine. And don't forget that you were a politician, too!

Sam, what are the community men meeting about? I'm curious ... it would be fun to speculate ...

Kelly, we are a pretty small community, but not as rural as we used to be. Lots of professionals.

Mary, I am so not picky about stuff ... I'm probably a grocery store owner's dream customer! As long as it's not visibly moldy, I'm probably fine with it. That said, our shoppers always seem to bring us good stuff. I add notes about certain things, like how green I want the bananas, or how lean I want the cuts of meat, but I've never had any problems. We tip well, which probably helps.

The kids got home from their honeymoon cruise today, and we are finally back to just Etta. Whew! I am ready for some quiet. Dh and I helped out at another wedding Saturday, which was a full 12 hours of nonstop running. The couple were both my WW members, and I was honored that they asked me. At the same time, it wore us out! I didn't even get dressed yesterday, or brush my hair, or anything. I needed that!
