Many reasons for motivation. Probably could list a 100. My kids, God, my health, to not have garbage years when still living, to stay independent when older, to feel good, to wear smaller clothes that are cute, to stop hiding this body especially in the summer when it is so hot outside..........1

My mom died a year ago of diabetes and vascular disease. I saw her suffering because of her choices (poor diet and no exercise). I’m already 30 pounds overweight and I want to change the trajectory of my own health before it’s too late. So, praying for the strength and wisdom of the Lord and joined this group because I don’t know how anyone makes lasting and real changes in their habits without the Lord! May He help us make level paths for our feet!2

My Dad died 2 months ago of heart disease and diabetes, kidney disease and complications from 2 operations etc. I really have to get this weight off and then it will help my cholesterol level and lipids. He did a lot of things to change his lifestyle that I am trying to copy. I may get these things anyways, but I hear it can be delayed. The last 5years of his life were tough for him. I think he changed some things maybe too late? Better he did than didn't though. I can see that I have his chemistry.1
