Welcome to the October 2018 Ultimate Accountability Challenge!
Some of you have been with this challenge for months and some are brand new. This is one of the hardest challenges to stay with throughout the entire month. FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS!! Log every BLT (Bite, Lick, Taste). Stay strong and true to yourself....YOU WILL SUCCEED!!
Please feel free to share as much information as you feel comfortable sharing about yourself with the rest of the group. I look forward to getting to know all of you a little better. GOOD LUCK!

Hey I'm in! This is my third consecutive month into the challenge (of five total).
I'm a triathlete, currently doing the switch from road to off road triathlons and starting from the bottom again. There is a lot to deal with training and emotionally, forgetting podiums for a while which can mean years...coming here to check in every day helps keeping me focused even if I'm "just" mantaining. Which I can tell you, is not at all "just".
Wish everyone well on their journeys!4 -
I’m NEW to this! I’ve been strong in maintaining my goals for 10 years. Since turning 50 things have changed dramatically. Horrible eating habits and an inconsistent and nonexistent excises routine. My weight gain is now to an unacceptable point. I Recognize I need support!
I look Forward to being accountable, to get me back on track.
I have always been supportive of others needing to stay on track now I find myself not knowing how to do that for me. I’m hoping this the right step.

I’m back. Hoping to make winners circle this month!
Do the work.2 -
can't wait to do this again!!! it's gonna be so useful during the holiday/winter months to keep myself from constantly comfort eating. every night i look forward to logging my day and feeling accomplished! the support, accountability, & judge-free attitude keeps me inspired and motivated, even on the days i'm struggling the most.3

HI. This is my first challenge. I have been diligently working on transforming my eating and other health habits for the past 9 weeks. So far so good!! I have lost nearly 20 pounds and have been consistent in both eating and exercise plans. I have reached the point now where the weight loss has slowed significantly. October is also a month when I have company coming to stay with me which will create some additional challenges to adhering to plans.6

this will be my first challenge tuff one but I love a challenge!5

Perfect for me as I have decided to not track my weight, but rather trust the process itself: move more (this challenge will encourage me to something daily), eat less (I do track my calories), and just track results by clothes feel and weekly measurements.6
-
This will be the first time participating in this challenge and I'm excited! My biggest issue is little cheats throughout the week that by themselves are like nothing but adding them up is too many wasted calories. This seems perfect for me!
A bit about me: I'm 36 and a type 1 diabetic (since I was 9) and I also have Celiac disease (no gluten for me) and several complications from a life where I ignored my disease for too long. The biggest hurdle in terms of fitness has been my gastroparesis, or lazy stomach. Basically, my stomach keeps food for too long and takes forever to process, thus having me hold on to extra weight.
I joined a 6 week challenge at a local gym at the beginning of June and I have kept with the program then entire time. I go to the gym four times a week, twice for HIIT class and twice for strength training, as well as participate in StepBet. I'm sticking to my prescribed meal plan the majority of the time but like I mentioned, I sneak in a bite of peanut butter from time to time. I'm excited to meet more people on a similar journey!6 -
I'm new to this group. I lost 35 lbs in 2016 training for a triathlon but suffered a TIA one month later and really had a lot of emotional issues after that. I've been on and off with my dedication until July 1 this year. So far, I'm down 10 lbs as of August 31 (5 since rejoining MFP). I weigh in and take measurements once a month for sanity's sake.5

Hi Everyone! I am looking forward and needing the daily/ consistent accountability that this challenge provides. Thanks!4

This is just my second time around. Learnt lots first time around hope to make it all the way to the winner circle this time.5

Hi everyone, I've been with UAC since February and MFP for years.
I consider February - August my UAC training wheels, apparently I am stubborn. It took that time for me to identify why my weight loss had stalled and where my calculations were wrong.
Started taking it all much more strategically in September and I'm finally seeing the scale move. SO excited for October!!5 -
Hi,
I participated in this great challenge over last winter and early spring, but had a health issue and had to step back from a lot of things I was doing. That's all in the past now and I'm really looking forward to getting back to the accountability this group offers. Weight wise, the summer wasn't too bad. I was able to fluctuate in a 5 pound range, its just that the range is about 15 pounds higher than the range I really should be in.3 -
Hi...I need this challenge! I am living out of my travel trailer for a couple of weeks...I am worried about my eating in this situation! Exercise shouldn’t be a problem! I need the accountability!0
-
Hi all. I turn 60 next week (GASP! NNNNOOOOOOO!!!!!!!) and this is my first experience with the UAC. Weight-wise, I reactivated my MFP account 5 months ago, and managed to shed 17 pounds through thoughtful, self-aware food choices and regular cardio. Then last month I hit a plateau (and possible mental block) as I just can't seem to settle into the 150.Xs, let alone break down into the 149.Xs. Numerous times in the past this has been the plateau-point where I start losing steam and commitment.
But not this time. You will note (in my newly changed in honor of joining UAC profile picture) that pigs are now flying. For real. In formation, even! (I have another one in my exercise room).
So this upping the ante on accountability and self-awareness will be the breakthrough I need right now despite having reached a less-forgiving-metabolism point in my life.4 -
My first time in this challenge! I feel my success in losing 27 lbs has been to the constant support from MFP and these challenges! Let’s go!3
-
I'm back after taking September off - a month of travel and craziness. It went well in spite of not logging but I'm looking forward to getting back to it with all of you wonderful people.1

Hello all0

Hello Everyone.- This will my first attempt at this challenge. I am 56. I've been on MFP since May 1 and have lost 22 lbs, but I still want to lose at least 17 more to get out of obesity. My hubby has PTSD and I have 2 adult children at home, both on the autism spectrum. Sometimes my schedule is not mine to control. I have been calling those days WAM days, which stands for both Wife And Mother and for Work At Maintenance. The problem lately has been to get back on track quickly after one of those days. I am hoping that the 3 pass day limit on this challenge will help with that.
@BMcC9 love your profile pic.2 -
Hi. I’m responsible for my own actions. Nice to be part of a group with the same philosophy.2

Hi and thanks. Ready for a new challenge. August was great (as far as fat loss goes) and September was a lot less so. It started with vacation and I never seemed to get back in the groove despite logging every day the entire month. Primary physical activities are rowing and bicycling, but I'm determined to add weight lifting when rowing season ends in a week.1
-
Hi. I'm a retired teacher living in NYC. I lost 20 lbs a few years ago, but I've been struggling to lose the last 20. Primary activities include cycling, walking, treadmill, elliptical. I need to hold myself accountable for logging my food intake. I hope this site can keep me honest!1

I'm joining the challenge, I'll not be hitting the winners circle as I'm travelling overseas with no electronic devices ~ so why am I joining? because the days I do log in will keep my focus on track. Best wishes to every one2

Hi everyone!
Just today I found this group and I think this is what I need for the next level of my weight loss mission. I have been active on MFP since last year and lost 23 lbs till this year March. However I have been struggling with accountability and motivation and had been laidback since last few months. As a result I gained 6 pounds gradually. My ultimate target is to reach 146 lbs, normal BMI for 5'4" woman.
So looking forward to a good start with all of you! Good luck with your goals!

Hi Everyone!
Found this group today and I'm very excited about joining. It's seems pretty strict and that's what I need. I have never been consistent on MFP, but hoping this group will inspire me too. I never stay motivated or focused when it comes to health and fitness. I'm just tired of the back and forth and want to take better control of my life. This group is a great start for me.

Hi everyone, Ive been doing this challenge since July. Im back. I lost 6.5 lbs last mo. 2.5 in. Good luck everyone.1

Hi, this is my second time in this challenge, no winners circle last month but the challenge has been great keeping me on track. Following a injury I'm off the running at the moment so having a reason to get out and exercise daily is great. Singed up this month for a cycle program, for the next week so fingers crossed I may have found a running replacement.2

I forgot to introduce myself on the 1st. Better late than never. I first joined UAC in May. It has been such a blessing on my journey..it truly helps me feel accountable. I've accomplished many personal goals already and keep pushing forward. I started with an ultimate goal that I'd like to reach in 18 months and I'm well on my way. Reaching and accomplishing bench marks every month. Then the challenge of maintaining will start for me.
I love everyone's posts and pictures. Thanks for all the contributions! I look forward to a great month!

This is my first month doing UAC. I am good at tracking breakfast but tend fizzle as the day progresses. I am hoping that this challenge will give me the push I need to be consistent. So far, so good.
I am now starting to realize the unexpected side benefit of saying no to tastes/licks/bites because I don't know how to track something and I am hoarding my pass days.1
