Exercise - 11k run (800m repeats) / 5 hrs paddle boarding
Calories - yes
Tracked - yes
Yep that's five hours. I took advantage of a shorter training day to spend more time out paddle boarding for the university. Turns out it was a very productive day, research wise. But I cannot wait for two things now...to speak with the researchers aaand to sleep!!3 -
Was unable to do NSV’s mid month so will do now.
Kept on track the past few weeks with walks & food even when in pain & occasionally down about broken arm just after all clear with kidney transplant.
We ate out which we normally don’t & I ate reasonably and in budget pretty easily.
Jeans are loose again after swelling from surgery.
Getting much more sleep 💤 to heal better/faster.
Called a friend & my dad when I was down...normally I handle it myself. Was glad I made the calls.
Maintained a positive, energetic mindset & approach 99% of time by practicing gratitude & walking lots!7 -
Yes, yes and yes! 20 down and 11 to go!7

I could use a new perspective as, recently, I tend to think of exercise as a means of consuming more calories; Essentially, I eat back all of my exercise calories. I'm thinking that is a bad habit to acquire...and I should perhaps change my mentality. Would be OK with that if the additional food choices I made were healthy ones; but recently the choices I have made have not been the best choices. I need to turn that around, especially with the holidays coming up in November and December. Open to suggestions.6 -
Won't be in the winner's circle this month ... but I gather that making it on the first month would be a bit ..... surprising ....
I will be keeping up all the tracking and reporting for the rest of Oct. and start fresh in November. Have higher hopes of managing within the three passes then. For us Canadians, Thanksgiving (and Halloween) will both be behind me as of Nov 1, and The Holly Daze not into full swing until after the beginning of December.6 -

Yes x 2
I knew I was gonna go over in calories, so I was gonna take a break from tracking. But I realize that tracking is important...at least I can be accountable with how over I will be.
The last few days have been a struggle but I couldn't identify why until today. I haven't felt hungry, I haven't even been craving anything crazy. Today I just felt fed up with everything being measured, proportioned, etc. It's been months since I felt like I was 'freely eating', mindlessly. That's a good thing but I don't want to frustrate myself into messing up my progress.
So, I bought a bag of white cheddar Puffs and just decided to eat what I wanted. Totally put me over today, but I feel like I got it out of my system. Glad to identify the itch I wasn't scratching.

Tracking is the foundation of the healthy habits underlying the success of the UAC
@molly3210 is right that 'tracking is important." In my experience, as soon as one stops tracking, then success is nearly impossible since we consume thoughtlessly. We just don't have any conscious awareness of what we are putting in our mouth nor how much we are putting in our mouth.

@RangerRickL so true! In my past, this is around the point where I would feel like "I got this" and would slowly stop tracking...then all success is derailed.
After the small success I've had this year it's so clear that CICO is simple, scientific and the only way I can expect permanent change.
I've been so proud of being such a calorie 'bean counter' , staying strict even with indulgent events/meals for the last few months. My pass days haven't been blow outs. Thats a NSV for me! I think I just need to keep a better eye on those restrictive feelings so I'm aware and don't freak out and blow a week of hard work in one sitting.
This time, I avoided it with Annie's white cheddar bunny tail puffs, lol
Thank you!5 -
