Plateauing!!!! It’s easy in the beginning but once I hit a certain spot the scale doesn’t seem to budge1

I do great for a couple days and then I have a binge day and it’s hard to get back the next day.3

Response to Eleanorsmiz: Plateauing is completely normal and it's your body way of trying to "save" itself from depletion. Don't take it as a bad thing! I always look at the average weight for the week, not day by day. Focus on the overall pattern of the week and see if theres any changes. Even a 1/2 a pound is a change!
Response to Jaeabram383: Sometimes when we are not consuming enough nutrients or not consuming the right things, it can lead to binge eating. Try adding in LOTS AND LOTS of veggies (every kind you can imagine) to help you feel fuller. If you're craving something sweet then try adding in a shake at night. Ex: protein powder, banana, almond butter, almond milk and ice. That can help curb a sweet tooth. Make sure you start the day off right. If you start with healthy meal you're more likely to adhere to it during the rest of the day!0 -
Getting past my sweet craving. I try but cant seem to give it up. It's my soft spot.1

Sendira: Sometimes sweet cravings can be a sign that there’s some sort of nutrient deficiency. Tracking your food will be one good way to make note of it. I highly recommend a multivitamin to make sure your vitamins are in order however, sweet cravings do happen. Instead of reaching for something sweet try one of these...
Frozen blended bananas with coaco nibs and unsweetened coconut flakes
Greek yogurt (plain) with fresh berries
Or perhaps try making some pumpkin bread (see my Instagram or FB page for my recipe). It’s low in sugar and high in nutrients. It helps curb a sweet tooth!
Hope this helps!0 -
My S L O W metabolism combined with stress/poor sleep. It's happened twice in the past decade...got into great shape, could eat what I want...let food slide, still maintained...then let exercise slide as well...and gained a ton of weight. I'm highly social and love wine/bourbon...cocktails do not help! That's my motivation to drop sugar (including booze, which really screws up my sleep). No coincidence that I've slept well this past week...in fact, slept almost 10 hours last night! My biggest challenge is wanting to munch on crunchy snacks in the evening.0

Thatscalecantberight: metabolism function can actually be altered by good and/or bad diet... as you’ve experienced. Trying to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle is what can help keep it happy. Instead of focusing on “taking things out” that you can enjoy, just minimize them. I’m not a fan of saying “you can never eat this again.” Typically, that doesn’t eat well. Save the food and drinks you love (but maybe aren’t the healthiest) for a cheat meal. This will help you stay healthier during the week knowing you can have your slice of pie on Friday. If you crave crunchy things- try making roasted sweet potatoes fries with cracked sea salt. Or perhaps zucchini “chips”. Cut thin slices of zucchini, dunk in egg whites and then coat with gluten free bread crumbs. Bake at 350. I like to drizzle lemon on afterwards. Hope this helps!1

Being consistent. I can be good for 3 days and then have bad day and it turns into a bad week. Also, motivation to go to the gym. I create every excuse possible to not go to the gym.1

LCC798: Try making smaller goals. Sometimes smaller goals that are more achievable will help pave the road. For example, tell yourself you'll go to a certain fitness class 1x a week and DO IT. Then tell yourself you're going to make a healthy breakfast everyday of the week for the next week and then do it. If you start with this you will most likely have more success!0
