So you cannot link Fitbit to the apple health app on your phone.

Yesterday I left my Fitbit on the charger in the morning. A friend told me no problem. Your phone will pick up the steps.

Turns out you can add a device to fitbit and it will pick up steps from your iPhone if you forget your Fitbit. Never even considered “add a device”. When I asked Fitbit about Apple health linking last year why did they not say anything?

Linking to another account implies much more info than steps - that it would receive workouts from it, meals from it perhaps, calorie burns for the day, ect.

    Those things don't come over.

You have the app on the phone, and are literally telling the app - use this device as your step source instead of the fitbit.

MFP app has the same setting - Step source.

If you don't choose Fitbit for example - nothing syncs from Fitbit to MFP actually.
But you could choose phone also.

Thanks So far so good as I don’t really log things on my phone. Fitbit still seems to be tracking like normal. The true test will be when I forget it to see if I can get it to sync the steps back from my phone.
