I survived my husbands staff Christmas party. Filled 3/4 of my plate with veggies, a bit of turkey and of course a couple of perogies. I indulged in one cookie. No problem tracking and keeping under calories. Full body strength workout this afternoon.5

This is the day that I'm up at 4:15 to be made uncomfortable by a woman professional body builder named Chrissy.
First a brisk 12 minute walk at 4 mph and then serious lower body strength exercises for 26 minutes. Ouch!
Calories: under by nice margin

Exercise: Yes. 5 mi. of waking around town.
Calories: Yes, stayed within allotment.
Tracking: Yes, we are on a short trip to Monterey, and eating out most meals, so more estimating and checking the food database than required by my rather repetative home menu.6 -

Yes x 3 for Monday
Day #2 of Disneyland! My counter says 21,000 steps but my husband's says over 24,000 steps. We we're together all day so something is off, lol. Anyway ate pretty light and I will be taking my special caramel apple treat home with me instead of eating the calories today which would send me over.
I appreciated people's input on holiday meal planning during Thanksgiving. It helped me stay in track, and I plan to employ the same strategy in December. Extra exercise, try to eat beforehand, and smaller portions overall. Worked great for me, I actually ended up loosing 2 lbs that week, after three stubborn weeks if the scale not moving.6 -

I tracked, kept within my calorie limit, and worked out! I did a 30 minute barre exercise and I was a little ambitious by selecting an "advanced" workout -- my poor legs have given up on me! But it was a good session!5

Exercise: Yes, 30 min strength. almost had a pass cuz my period cramps were so bad it was difficult to get up but the pain went down enough to squeeze in a workout, spent rest of the day resting & exhausted tho
Calories: Yes. I've been a bit too close to going over tho, I've been enjoying my holiday treats but I need to tone it down a bit
Tracked: Yes
My plan to staying healthy during the rest of the holidays is to just be more flexible and less restrictive, stay as active as possible, save my pass days when it's really worth it, and stress less about food & find more joy in spending time with my family and preparing for Christmas
I wait all year for holiday food so when days like Thanksgiving, Christmas come I let myself feast on whatever lol, I'm raised by a family who knows how to cook damn well & raised in a state/city with lots of food culture and when I go to my extended family's for xmas there's soo much glorious, yummy foods that you just can't pass up on. And Thanksgiving in my house is an opportunity to create & practice culinary "masterpieces", and what's Thanksgiving without tons of butter?. There is no such thing as "just a bit of turkey and some veggies and a salad and a thumb sized slice of pie" LOL.
I'm only 2-3 years into my fitness journey and haven't quite mastered the whole "self control" thing, so overeating is still a battle that I lose to. But I plan on doing even better next year, cuz there's always time for improvement7 -
