    Good morning.

Killing time at a coffee shop until it's an appropriate hour to wake Cecilia. Beach for a couple of days, so today we're hitting the road to go to... another beach. Beer and sun are okay and all, but it does get boring after a while of just sitting there and people watching.

Last night's dinner: picanha, farofa, rice and fries.

    Mornin' BBB.

Those look like steaks on the platter upper right. Looks like you are eating well, Lou.

Lisa, Etta better today? If you can't tell, its probably a front leg. Is/was she head bobbing? If so, the head goes down when they are on the good front leg. Hopefully she just has sore feet. and needs some rest. I would give 2 reduced dosage (81mg) chewable aspirin twice daily with food (never on an empty stomach) if she is still sore. The enteric coated tablets just don't get absorbed very well. I would do this for 3-5 days and if she isn't any better then get her seen by your vet.

Took Tess for a walk with my shotgun yesterday. She really enjoyed herself and found a nice big rooster as it was running down a hedgerow. I tried hup (sit) her with the whistle as she was working the bird so I could catch up but she ignored me. Thankfully she made a good flush and the bird flew in a direction I could get a shot. It reminded me of when she was younger and that would have happened so fast that I would have had no chance getting a shot at the bird. Back then she would get a whiff of a bird 80 yards away and I could not stop her with a whistle back then either. So now, even though she still ignores my hup whistle, she just isn't moving as fast anymore and I could keep up with her as she worked the bird. As she brought me the shot bird, it made me realize that she is mortal. So what if she ignores my hup whistle.

So big news! Riot (Crosswinds Comic Relief) won the National Open Championship in Cambridge, Maryland. That was Babe's baby daddy. Its wonderful for so many reasons. The biggest reason is that his owner is battling a very aggressive cancer and is losing the battle right now.

    Raining here today.

    Morning, Gang~

CONGRATS, Riot! And, CONGRATS for a great field day with Tess! Love the stories, Lee. Ahem ahem!

DF and I are on each others nerves - but he still has two more days to go. I finally just yielded last night and said - "if you don't enjoy the efforts I put into our get togethers - don't come!" and asked what he might pay to have "one more hour over a cold beer with his dad?" That silenced him for a few moments. He has a tough time not being in 100% control. Anyway.

Still feel like SOS! Taking meds - but just need to rest.

    CBL~

    Good morning BBB

    Nice stories Lee

Great time with our friends, old neighbors last night. They are enjoying their new home, too.

    Hope Lou has sunscreen!

I'm off to Walmart before the crowd, oh joy

Skip, that was a GREAT response question. Very thought-provoking, and I'll bet it helped him to remember his priorities a bit. It's so easy for us to get distracted about those.

Actually, Lee's comment about Babe being mortal does the same thing. As hard as that mortality is for us to accept, it does remind us to treasure what matters, right?

I was annoyed as heck with Dd27's bf yesterday ... I just wanted him to GO HOME. He hadn't left since days before the trip. Finally, last night, they did end up going to his place. Thank God! I needed a priority re-adjustment, too!

It looks like it will be a fairly quiet day here. I'll do some food prep for the week, and we'll go to church tonight (I told them that I was not doing music this week .. too close to when we got home), but that's about it. Dh is going to help a friend out at his shop for while. Quiet is NICE sometimes.

    Good morning BBB friends.

Lee, I am always fascinated by the little insights you provide into how a veterinarian sees what is ailing patients who cannot speak.

The choir is singing "Light One Candle" in church, this morning. Always feel kind of emotional, singing this piece. Maybe it's my age; the civil rights, environmental, and peace movements were central to my life back in the '60s and early '70s. Anyway, it is a great arrangement, and the choir sounds fantastic. I am sure this one will bring a response from the congregation. I know Lisa appreciates how good that feels.

Skip, getting on each other's nerves is a father and son tradition. Your question to him would not work for me. I would have started blubbering before I finished the question or not been able to speak.

Lisa, I can only imagine how annoying a DBF could be. I have no daughters. How did your JIm feel about him at that point.

    Is Etta better?

    Morning BBB

Puttering around the house today. Finally took down all of the art we aren't moving and finished emptying the craft closet. Everything left will either go to apartment or dad's.

Need to find something in the freezer for lunch. I think there is a couple of packages of ribs. That might be the winner.

Ron is back on the couch with the cold. We keep passing it back and forth.

    Good Afternoon,
Not a trainer Lisa, but we live way out so TM had a new Guide to work with me 3 weeks then will work with guide that works when I'm out. Trying to be ready for January, got e-mail ensuring that I'll work every Saturday in January from TM, TM's had never been involved in our studio for past 10 years. Could be a large meeting if we could get an energetic Coach to consistently be there.
Lou, be sure and load on sun screen when visiting nude beaches.
Got up this morning made breakfast of hash-browns with sausage and egg in muffin pan. DMIL sat and played with food, bragged on it then threw in trash. Wanted to know if she slept too late to go get her hair cut. Told her we were going to church; we got ready and left. When we got home she was sitting at table eating cheese and crackers. Simply told her if she had eaten breakfast she wouldn't be hungry. DW looked at DMIL's medicine; she had taken Tuesdays instead of Sundays then started arguing with DW that it was Tuesday.
Though she really gets on our nerves, I also realize she will be greatly missed. 29 years ago today my mother passed, through the years there have been so many things I wanted to share with her. DMIL has always been there for me; I pray its not like mother like daughter as DW gets older.
Skip hope you are feeling better soon.
Really enjoy Christmas music, wished we didn't miss several concerts last week.
Lisa, work from the heart, all will enjoy.
    Enjoy the Day,
    Sam I am
