Mornin' BBB.
Ugh. Not feeling the love for going to work today.
BBB OP ;-)0 -
Me either Lee!!
I’m headed out now. I guess I forget to post yesterday. I’ll cbl.0 -
Good morning.
I pounded 3 mugs of coffee, worked 10 hours and didn't take a nap yesterday in the hopes that I'd conquer jet lag and sleep last night. At 4AM today, the eyes popped open like they were on springs.
Going into the office today to make sure everything that needs to happen for year end cash gets done. Envy me.0 -
Good Morning BBB.
I took time yesterday to go kayaking out in the Intercoastal and walked a beach area for a while. It was marvelous. Today is work, awaiting the repair guy for the grey 2 release valve, and a morning walk with Jack. He is more of a cold weather dog so we will walk early before the temps heat up.
Tom is getting it done up north and expects to head south on the 8th.
Yesterday I completed some continuing legal education that had a year-end deadline. OY.
Does anyone make New Year's Resolutions?
In recent years I changed my approach and resolve to add on more healthy habits since they seem to lead to accomplishing goals on my list. This year it's taking time each day to step away from the grind. I can get so caught up in "doing" that I forget to take care of me and those in my life which leads to being frazzled, anxious, negative, etc.
Wishing you all a Healthy and Happy New Year filled with all you want.0 -
Morning Gang-
Some of us are laid off - don’t envy me.
Spectacular day, Raine.
I made it to see some pals at vfw for a brief minute and the. All afternoon trying to figure out how to do a group contact with Gmail.
Dinner tonight with DW (and DMIL). Won’t likely stay up until midnight.
Be safe everyone.
Get some rest Lou.0 -
HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE DAY! Off for early walk today and then..."Go Ducks!"0
-
Good morning BBB friends.
Looking forward to watching the Ducks play. But still have trouble with the Redbox Bowl name. Remember when the bowl games were all named after flowers or fruit? Now, even the Rose Bowl adds a corporate label.
DW and I usually stay up until midnight to watch the new year come in. Just a kiss, a quiet happy New Year, and we head to bed.0 -
Morning BBB
Going to try to buckle down and get all my work done this morning so I can take the afternoon off.
Have a young airman (actually woman) coming over today to get a bunch of furniture. She just asked for the bed and dresser but I'm hoping she wants a TV amoire, couch and cedar chest too.
We are invited to a poker party tonight but I bet we don't go. Ron doesn't really like cards and it is butt *kitten* cold here and I don't like going outside.0 -
Good morning BBB
Sounds like a great resolution Raine.
Maddie dog is spending the night so we'll ring in the new year with her and go to bed likely before 12. We have steaks to grill and a Sir Paul McCartney concert on dvr to watch.
Tomorrow I shall start packing up the decorations maybe, for sure do it on the coming weekend. Fun to put it up, a pain to take it all down.
Steph I bet it's weird, but in a good way, getting rid of so much?
Happy New Year!

Good morning BBB Friends.
- Yep, it's Monday. I had breakfast with the ROMEOs.
- I resolve not to make resolutions.
- Your post makes me smile Steph. I remember being a young Airman. Newly married and trying to furnish our first apartment. Tell her I said thanks for keeping 'em flying.
- We had a nice dinner with four other neighbor couples last night. Nice time.
- If history repeats itself we'll watch the ball drop in Times Square from bed.
- I hope you find work Skip. Your DBILs depend on you.

Good Morning,
May hit 70 here today, starting out very foggy.
Had 16 here yesterday, got here around 12 and stayed till after 7; it was almost like they were the afraid to be the first to leave, wish I could have started the exodus. At least everyone got along and cannot believe amount of food eaten or alcohol drank.
We will stay home and more than likely will be in bed by 10.
Usually we have about 12 - 14 for New Year's day; peas, collards, sweet potatoes, crackling cornbread and hog jowl; we have the food to fix but more than likely will pass.
I've got some kind of infection and doctors offices are closed for Holiday.
Sorry you are having to work today Lee,
Steph, hope you are able to get all done this morning.
Nephew here yesterday will be back at work in Michigan on 2nd, customs, on furlough but told he still had to work.
I've heard two different beliefs about working on New Years day, some believe one needs to work to ensure a full year of work and some believe its bad luck to work. We don't wash or clean on New years because I've always heard that if you do you'll have to wash or clean for the death of a close person.
No envy here on moving, when do you have to be out Steph? I would have to visit a store out of town then let Ron handle.
DMIL has been very quite since returning, either decided she likes it here and does not want to wear out welcome, had a good talking too about her actions or does not want to be sent off to other daughters again. Of course she did get plenty of alcohol Saturday and Sunday.
Party hardy but be safe,
Enjoy the Day,

We don't close until February 21. I think Ron and his dad are driving to Florida on Jan 13 (20 hours) and he will likely stay a bit to help him settle in and e joy the Florida sun.
When not traveling I'll go clean the apartment (80 yo single guys with bad eyesite aren't the best housekeepers) and take a car load each time I go over. I think we will move the bulk of the furniture the last week of January. I have a week of PTO. With nebraska weather I don't want to make too firm of plans. My dad volunteered to bring up his pickup and trailer. We also have some furniture to take to consignment.0 -
Steph - sounds like you have a good plan and you have plenty of time. You got this!!
Sam - feel better - infections are no fun.0 -
Dennis - that was funny! DBIL's for sure, rely on good meals on my dime!
Sam, feel better!
Steph - exciting times for you and Ron!
Mary - can I entice you to come put our decorations away too? Ugh!0 -
I got all our decorations put away and the house cleaned up and de-cluttered yesterday. It feels GOOD and looks amazing. Of course, I had the whole day free ... I never even combed my hair or put on real clothes.
I did a meeting this morning, tonight we're going to a euchre party (we'll be home by 10:30 at the latest), and tomorrow I work an early chat shift. I will definitely clean stuff AND work tomorrow, but I am decidedly NOT superstitious, so it's okay.
Sam, do you have a good clinic around there that's open? We usually use those, as no one around here ever gets sick during business hours for some reason.
I'm impressed with all you who are staying up until midnight tonight! I'm such a baby ... I'm usually tired by 9. Enjoy those HNY kisses! I'll get mine in the morning.

Good evening. In bed with Henry.
Hope you all have a safe night.
I’m working tomorrow
If I count dog sitting I never got a day off thru Christmas. Ugh.
I don’t think I’ll make any resolutions.0
