Too many steps

My Fitbit is giving me around 5-6000 more steps per day as I drive for a living. It's the vibrations from my van but it's giving me extra calories in mfp can anyone suggest any ideas..

@stuartguildford The only thing I could think of is to maybe put it in your pocket when you're driving. It may still pick up on some of the vibrations but it should be less than when it's on your wrist.

There is an app for the phone that you start and end a drive - and that sends a workout to Fitbit with 0 steps, and base calorie burn.

I'd be surprised that even 5-6K bogus steps gives that much distance and calorie burn from bumps.

You can see what it actually is by creating an Activity record - you put in the start and end time of a good long straight drive - and you'll see the steps, distance, and calorie burn assigned.

You could also change the location of the Fitbit (you failed to mention which of many models) to minimize the impact of the "steps" seen - which is what is used to calculate distance.

There is an activity on fitbit called "Driving" If you know when you started and ended your drive you can log it and it will negate all your steps from this time period. I use this for the 4-6000 steps I usually pick up on a bike ride.
