Introductions time:
Overnight dispatcher for police, fire, ems for county PSAP. Trying to stay motivated to lose all of the weight i've gain since i started. Aka the dispatcher spread. Struggling with finding a schedule for sleep, eating, and working out that works for me. Been dispatching 7 years, approximately 4 at my current job.

I am a dispatcher for county/city/medical/ and fire in a rural area. I have been doing this for 6 months and the weight keeps going on. I exercise, have part time cleaning jobs, and work 40 hrs/ wk. It just is hard

I dispatch overnights (12 hr shifts) for Several Fire, EMS, and LEO agencies in a rural county in Missouri. While trying to juggle family, friends, and work I have a hard time staying motivated to excercise. On top of that finding food that is healthy and I can heat up in the microwave at work seems impossible. I look forward to being able to connect with people who understand the dispatch struggle!

I feel the same way, i finally started meal prepping at the beginning of the year, it has been super helpful. Also been leaving my debit card at home, so I don't stop for fast food on the way in. Wish sitting on my butt in a chair would burn more calories!

Hello from Canada! I work at a primary PSAP for my province as well as dispatch fire for the majority of the province as well (363 ish full time and volunteer departments). Been here 9 years and gained 50 lbs in the first year! We work 2 days 2 nights and have 4 off. I recently started doing the KETO diet on my Dr.'s suggestion and am finally starting to see a difference. I tried low carb, clean eating, working out like a mad woman and nothing ever worked. Food prep is a major necessity for shift workers. Also, sleep when you can for as long as you can! When you are overtired, your first instinct is to reach for snacks!

Hey everyone, dispatcher from Kenosha, WI (right in the middle of Chicago and Milwaukee - Main corridor between the two cities). I dispatch police, fire, and ems... also a calltaker. I currently work 2nd shift so 2pm-10pm, forced overtime usually 1-2 times per week. I recently went to Hawaii at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb, and had the realization that I need to lose a LOT of weight. Talking like 120lbs... Do your agencies allow exercise equipment at your consoles? Ours does not although it was recently approved to get treadmills for under the desks. But who knows how long that's going to take to get. Anyways, I guess I'm curious to learn what you all do at work to get yourselves moving? Also, looking to add friends who can relate! Add me! :)
