Attended awesome Derby Soiree with DW and neighbors at our Lodge. Everyone enjoyed! Surprisingly, I was NOT the most outrageously dressed  - have some definite ideas for next year now....

Interesting "foul finish." Incredibly - as a result - nobody won our pool. We opted to donate to a charity instead. Somewhere over $1000 in the pot.

I drew the short straw to work this morning. Cinco de'Mayo party this afternoon with neighbors!

    Rain continues.

DW/DMIL leaving town today. The funeral home installed headstone for DFIL - so they're driving up to PA for a few days. I'll play bachelor.

Great pic of Ron, Steph, and Raine! Hope ya'll had a great time!

Foundation work continues. I'll be glad when I don't have contractors at the house every darn day!

    Cheers for a great day!

    Mornin' BBB.

Interesting Derby. Too bad about the foul. Did not appear to be intentional in any way. Just bad luck. Some would say the jockey screwed up allowing the horse to drift out of the lane like that.

Great photo of Steph, Ron, and Raine! Jellis.

Great photo of Raine and Steph! How FUN that you got to get together!!! And Raine, your haircut is TOO CUTE.
Skip, you're lookin' mighty adorable yourself, too! Pink is your color! Do you have something good to wear for the Cinco de Mayo party? Of course we'll need pics. You're quite the party animal!
Your begonias look GREAT, Dennis! I'm totally jealous of your weather, yet again. It was beautiful here yesterday, albeit still a bit chilly for annuals.
I hope you get a beautiful hike in today, Dave!
Sam, I'd love to see the jasmine. I'm not sure what it looks like.
Happy birthday to Tom! Was the gathering fun last night? The hydrangea is gorgeous ... and it will be a beautiful memory to cherish. My house is filled with plants from funerals, and they bring me joy (and oxygen, right?!).

Speaking of that, we visited Jim's mom's grave last night after walking around Tulip Time for a bit. She LOVED Tulip Time. I think it's the first time we visited the grave and didn't cry. It's been 14 years in June since we lost her. She'll always be my hero. I do still have 2 plants in my house from that funeral, too. For Christmas this year, I split the peace lily and gave our nieces some hearty shoots in pretty pots (as one of their gifts). I thought it was meaningful since it was from their Grandma's funeral.

And it turns out I was wrong about the speaking thing ... it's NEXT Saturday. Oy. I had to call a bunch of people who were going to come support me and tell them that I had the date wrong. I was really disappointed, but we used that time to mosey around the Art in the Park thing for Tulip Time, watch the Dutch Dancers, do some shopping downtown, and have dinner people-watching at a nice outdoor place. And, I am COMPLETELY prepared for next week, so that's good, right? Now my prayer is that Dd27 doesn't go into labor that day.

This morning we're going to pick up the kayaks (Jim is really excited!), babysitting Anabelle for a bit, and then church tonight. Songs this week are: Resurrection Power, Better is One Day, Scars (I am so excited for this one! We're introducing it, and it's my new favorite!), and In the Eye of the Storm (a last minute switch due to finally getting the sermon title).

    Good morning BBB crew.

    Great photos, Lisa.

No hike, today. Church this morning, then staining the front porch. Forecast is for 75 degrees, today. I might spend some time reading on the back deck. Summer is here - at least for the next week. I'll probably hike on Tuesday and Wednesday. Shorts might come out of the bureau for the first time, this year.

Great photos Lisa, Skip, Steph, Raine!

I caught a cold, boo. 1st one in a long long time.

Subdivision entrance sign painting later and then planting zinnia and snap dragon seeds. like Lisa said, still too early here for any annuals or veggies, etc. Trees, shrubs only just budding now. Grass is greening up nicely.

Our 2 lilacs we planted here last mothers day, in memory of our Moms, are coming to life. This makes me happy!!!

Nice bday dinner for my honey last night! I got him a great new chair for outside the glamper and a size smaller jeans, he's down 15+ lbs. And couldn't keep his pants up!

I hope you all have a great day!

    Hi all.

We got caught in a torrential rainstorm/tornado watch while niking this morning. Holed up in a bar for tacos and a beer.

Now getting set up to call in to our bi-monthly dongeons and dragons meet up.

Doing laundry today as I have to work tomorrow and headed back North on Tuesday am
